This September 2022 empties review is a bit smaller with 13 items. I expect the remainder of the year to be light because I am working on tougher items. This empties roundup features items from my last Walmart Beauty Box, and honestly other boxes as well. I have an awesome makeup remover balm for you to check out! Allow me to go through each item and share my thoughts before you make a purchase.

September 2022 Empties Review

Skincare

First for September 2022 empties is six skincare products.

  • Physicians Formula Organic Wear Nutrient Mist Facial Mist: This is a spray toner, which is my favorite type. I like to think that it is delivering valuable nutrients to my skin and prepping it for other skincare, but I really cannot prove that. I enjoy using this, but there is no special reason to repurchase.
  • Freeman Gentle Exfoliating Lactic Acid + Omega 6 Hemp Milk Peel: I have tried the other milk peels, but this is my first time trying the type made for me, which is oily/combo skin. I believe that all of these help to fight blemishes as a part of an acne skincare routine. Possibly, I would buy this again.
  • Patchology Get Dewy With It Mega Moisture Sheet Mask: As seen in my Walmart Beauty Box Fall 2022 review, this sheet mask fits well and does a good job of hydrating the skin for a temporary dewy look. This is the result that I get with virtually all face masks, so there is no outstanding reason to get this again.
  • Palmers Coconut Charcoal Detoxifying Sheet Mask: I like that this mask combines charcoal and coconut, and it smells nice. Palmers masks fit ok, not the best or the worst. There was no tingling sensation with this one. I have no idea if it successfully draws out impurities. I have no plans to buy again.
  • elf Holy Hydration Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm: I am on a journey of using up many makeup removing balms before I decide on which one I want to repurchase, but elf is winning thus far! This has an oil based formula that removes everything 100%, even waterproof products. I am sure we have all been there, when you think you removed every spec of makeup, then you get out of the shower and have raccoon eyes. Where does all of the eye makeup come from?! That never happens with this product. Although, it does leave my skin feeling a bit dry and stripped, which is quite the opposite from the ‘holy hydration’ claim. I still love it because I know I am getting clean. For more details, check out my elf Holy Hydration review. I must admit, I already repurchased this.
  • Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser: I have knocked out another one of these face washes, and another is on the way inside of the acne kit that I buy over and over again. This is a perfectly good face wash that gets the job done.

Makeup

Second in September 2022 empties is three makeup products.

  • Milani Make It Last Matte Charcoal Setting Spray: This setting spray does melt everything together, but it does not extend the wear time of makeup. The finish is not as mattifying as I would like. I have tried using this on makeup that ended up being too dewy but it was not successful. I will not repurchase.
  • Maybelline Express Brow Pencil and Powder: This brow product combines two Maybelline items into one, so it is not truly new. The powder end is good for a quick fill if you do not want hair-like strokes. I already enjoy the triangular pencil by itself as the Total Temptation pencil for a quick, semi-hair-like fill. I will not repurchase this and stick with Total Temptation.
  • Benefit The Porefessional Lite Primer: It has been a very long time since I used the original Porefessional, and I do not remember my thoughts. This ‘lite’ version does nothing for my pores at all. There is a cooling feeling. I will not buy the full-size.

Body Care

Third is three body care items.

  • Soap & Glory Clean On Me: Yet another review on this body wash! This is a creamy and moisturizing body wash that features their Signature Pink scent. I always get this in gift sets.
  • BeautySpaceNK Jasmine & Rose Hand Wash: I never put hand soap in an empties post, but this is from a Walmart Beauty Box. Of course it smells nice and washes your hands. What more can I say about it! I have no reason to buy again.
  • wet n wild Stitch Life’s a Beach Exfoliating Multi-Scrub: This body scrub has a lovely tropical scent, and it effectively gets the job done. It has the right amount of grit yet it does not hurt. I did have some dry skin on my elbow and it took it right off. You can read more about this in my wet n wild x Stitch collection review, but it is limited edition.

Fragrance

Last in September 2022 empties is one fragrance item.

  • Marc Jacobs Perfect: This is a floral fragrance with notes of rhubarb and daffodil. It is just fine, but it does not compel me to buy it.

Conclusion

In conclusion of this September 2022 empties review, I am continuing to plow through face wash, body wash, and moisturizers behind the scenes. Earlier this year I knocked out my skincare mask stockpile, so my numbers are no longer “padded.” However, the number of items emptied every month is not important. What counts is enjoying what you spent your money on instead of letting the items expire. I feel accomplished in my own right, and you should, too! Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
