April 2022 Empties Review

The first quarter of 2022 was especially hot for me with empties, as I could achieve one empty for each day of the month. I warned that moving forward the numbers will be slightly decreased. My April 2022 empties review features 22 items. What really drives up my numbers are skincare masks. Since I am working on squeeze tubes that take more time, this post barely contains any masks. That is the real reason the numbers are lower, which allows you to see the impact of masks. I also have three items that cut so close! They probably have one to three uses left, and I wanted them to make it into April in the worst way. Anyhow, here comes my detailed reviews of each product, where I state if I will repurchase.

22 Item April 2022 Empties Review

Skincare

Starting off the April 2022 empties review is nine skincare items.

• Bliss Makeup Melt Oil-Free Makeup Remover Wipes: These wipes remind me a lot of Neutrogena’s, yet they are different. They are nice and thick, yet I still add a touch of micellar water. Overall, they work well, and the only reason I will not buy again is that I want to move away from wipes.
• Freeman Gentle Exfoliating Lactic Acid + Vitamin E Almond Milk Peel: This peel does a great job with acne and blemishes, as a part of my overall routine. It never irritates my skin. I would consider repurchasing this in the future, but it is hard to find.
• elf Hydrating Booster Drops: These drops mix right into skincare products, or even makeup such as foundation, and they do not hurt the integrity of the product. You can also apply them directly to your skin. They provide a lightweight boost of hydration, but do not replace moisturizer or other items. I have no plans to repurchase.
• Freeman Detoxifying Charcoal + Black Sugar Mud Mask: This is my favorite charcoal mud mask, as it is effective with acne and blemishes, as a part of my routine. It also dries well in 10 to 15 minutes. I would totally buy again, but I do have more.
• Hanhoo Blemish Toner: You have to shake this toner well, as it has a pink powder that settles. It tones the skin fine! It is hard for me to tell if it is helping with blemishes. While I have not had many during the course of using this product, my overall routine has a lot of good blemish fighting staples. I have no particular reason to buy again.
• Freeman Soothing Watermelon + Aloe Gel Mask: Besides the fact that this mask smells great, it is very cooling and calming on the skin. This would be nice to use after a workout, and perhaps on a sunburn. I do not have a reason to buy it again.
• elf Milkshake Overnight Mask: This mask does a great job of leaving the skin feeling soft like a baby’s bottom! It also smells delicious, and moisturizes. Anyone can benefit from this, especially dry skin. This is from the elf Cookies ‘n Dreams collection, where you can get more details. Ultimately, it is another item that I do not have a reason to buy again.
• No 7 Restore & Renew Night Cream: This cream leaves a bit of a tacky or sticky feel on the skin, and is not the best for layering. While it provides some light hydration, I see it doing nothing for my skin. I will not buy again.
• elf Oil Control Pore Minimizing Serum: This is a lightweight serum that easily absorbs into the skin. It layers great, and leaves the skin feeling smooth with no residue. It does help control some oil production, in conjunction with other products in your routine. So far, I am on the fence about a repurchase.

Haircare

Second in this April 2022 empties review is four haircare items.

• Hask Sauvignon Blanc Inspired Shine & Nourish Deep Conditioner: I have not had this wine to be able to say if this deep conditioner smells like it, but it smells good. You get a generous amount, and it is nice and thick. It definitely leaves your hair feeling like you did a treatment, and it touches on some frizz. Still, I can think of treatments that work even better for me, so I have no plans to buy again.
• Soap & Glory The Rushower Scent-sational Dry Shampoo: The scent of this dry shampoo is incredibly strong, much like mens cologne, which I really do not enjoy. It also stands to do a better job of reducing the look of oil in the hair. I will not buy again.
• Tresemme Pro Pure Light Moisture Shampoo: What can I say, this shampoo cleans the hair like it should. Otherwise, it does not weigh the hair down or build up. I am not really sure how much moisture it is providing along with all the other products that I use. I appreciate there is no dyes, but I wish there was no fragrance. There is no reason to repurchase, but I have more details in my Walmart Beauty Box Spring 2022 unboxing!
• Tresemme Pro Pure Light Moisture Conditioner: Just like my feelings on the shampoo, I believe this conditioner does condition the hair as it should and without any product build up. Is it any more special than another conditioner? No, so there is no reason to repurchase.

Makeup

Third for this April 2022 empties review is three makeup items.

• Hard Candy Sheer Envy Perfecting Primer: If you tend to shy away from Hard Candy primers, you definitely need to try them again! Also, this little bottle was completely filled with product! Usually, deluxe samples are half air. Believe me, a little goes a long way. It creates a nice base for makeup application, and everything wears fine. I really do not think it extends makeup wear. Ultimately, I have too many primers to justify a repurchase.
• wet n wild photofocus Matte Finish Setting Spray: This is a staple drugstore setting spray that I keep on hand at all times for blog posts and such. I used this up simply to reduce the number of items in my stockpile. It does provide a matte finish, but it will let oils through during the day. This does not extend the wear of makeup. It is good for daily use, and the sprayer is decent. Of course I would repurchase!
• Nyx Cosmetics On The Rise Volume Liftscara: This mascara has a uniquely-shaped silicone wand that is part-hourglass, part-rounded in shape to coat every lash in a highly-pigmented, matte black formula. This formula really reminds me of wet n wild’s Bad Bitch Lift/Saved By the Bell Bayside Cheerleading mascara. If you like that one, you will like this. While this mascara does a great job of grabbing each lash, lifting, and lengthening, there is something to be desired in terms of volume. Overall, it is not too bad, and that says a lot with how picky I am over mascara. I honestly enjoyed using this, and will keep it in mind. Right now, I have a drawer full of mascaras to try.

Bodycare

Fourth is four body care-related products.

• Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter: This is a nice thick and luxurious body butter or lotion that really does make your skin feel great all day. The Original Pink scent is also nice. I never make plans to buy again because I always get this in gift sets, plus I have more.
• Venus Visage Hair Growth Inhibitor: I bought this inhibitor spray for my armpits, and it promised 100% effective results in 30 days. Needless to say, I used the entire bottle over 30+ days following their directions, and nothing happened. At first, it seemed like the hair growth was slowing, but then nothing. I do have coarse hair thanks to PCOS, but the reviews said it would be fine. However, I do wonder if this is a bit of user error. The seller says to remove hair in the way that you like, so I tried depilatory cream (Nair). From doing independent research, I find that pulling from the root with waxing, threading, etc. is the best. While I will not buy again, you may want to give this a try and see how it goes for you.
• Soap & Glory Hand Food: This is one of my favorite hand creams because it really works to hydrate long term! As already noted, I like the Original Pink scent. A little bit goes a long way, as only a small squeeze is needed to help it to absorb into the skin and not feel greasy. I do have more tubes on hand.
• Hello Activated Charcoal Epic Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste: The Walmart Beauty Boxes love this toothpaste, which is why I include it in my empties. I have used it many times, but sadly, I see no changes with my teeth. Since I am a regular coffee drinker, I blame that fact. I would love to hear a review from someone that properly takes care of their teeth. This is an incredibly messy toothpaste to spit into your sink. I do not plan on repurchasing.

Fragrance

I am ending my April 2022 empties review in my typical way with three fragrance products.

• Mugler Alien: This is a warm floral perfume with notes of jasmine, cashmeran wood, and amber, so there is a woody touch. It also includes lavender. I have enjoyed using this sample, but I do not have a reason to buy it again.
• Body Fantasies Pink Sweet Pea Fantasy: If you have been around the blog for a while, then you know this is my all-time favorite body spray scent! I own too much of it, so every now and then I empty another bottle. Plus, my goal is to use all of these 1.7 ounce bottles up. I will always repurchase!
• Body Fantasies Stay Gorgeous: This is a sweet lemon and pineapple scent that is only available in their Christmas gift set. So, I will not be buying again.

Conclusion

In conclusion of this April 2022 empties review, this month did not end up being as bad as I anticipated! Panning and emptying is never a failure, because you are at least using something to get the most out of your money. As the year stretches on, I am working on my last small Body Fantasies bottle before I hit the big daddies! I expect to finish squeeze tube masks this year. Body wash, moisturizer, and face wash continues to be a battle that I expect will go far into 2023. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
