Space Bun Curls Tutorial
1. Prep Hair
Ensure your hair is clean and damp. If your hair is dry, you can make it damp with a spray bottle of water or leave-in conditioner spray. Brush out any knots or tangles with a hairbrush or wide-tooth comb.
2. Section Hair
Divide your hair into two equal sections, parting it down the middle from your forehead to the nape of your neck. Then, brush each half on top of your head and secure with silk scrunchies. While the kit does not come with scrunchies, adding them will make the process easier. You will end up with pig tails on top of your head.

3. Roll Curlers & Apply Caps
Take one section of hair, hold it straight up in the air, and twist the ends around the curler. Then, wrap the hair around the curler until it reaches your head. Use the snap to secure the curler. Cover the bun with a cap. Repeat this process on the other side of your head.

4. Remove & Style
After 6-8 hours or overnight, carefully remove the Bun Bons curlers and caps from your hair. They are beyond comfortable to sleep in and you do not notice them. I find that they stay in the hair. Gently unravel each space bun. You may want to use your fingers, or a pick (my personal favorite) to separate the curls. It is a good idea to finish with hairspray or texturizing spray.

They looked pretty good at the beginning. I could see some volume and bounce. My hair type is thin and fine. They did mostly fall out around the four hour mark. I do think that this concept works and gives more of the big heatless curls look than some other methods.
Ultimately, heatless curls with hair caps is easy and fast to do, and I think it will work if your hair is receptive to being curled. To preserve your curled style, check out my Sleepy Tie tutorial.
