After an amazing start to the empties year in January, I am keeping the momentum alive. This February 2022 empties review features 29 items! It always feels good to knock out some makeup, because that takes the longest, whether it is full-size or a sample. Finally, a toner water came to and end after what feels like a year plus of using it daily. Otherwise, I continue to rotate facial masks, but I am not yet working on tubes that take a long time. I am excited to share detailed reviews on each item that you will find helpful before your next shopping trip.

Skincare

First, there are 15 skincare items in this February 2022 empties review.

  • Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask: I am a big fan of Yes to Tomatoes because I do see it helping my skin. This is a nice mud mask, and along with my other products, it helps. I would buy it again, and I think this was already a repurchase.
  • Yes To Tomatoes 3-Step Acne Clearing Kit: I do find that this kit helps with acne. You get enough face wash for two washes, and it has some exfoliators and black charcoal in it. The sheet mask is cut so oddly that it makes me wonder if it was made for a human face. The third product does not state what it really is or how to use it, but it has the consistency of a thick serum. So, I use it as a serum. You get so much of it that you can use it for a week plus, but it does not layer the best with other products. While I would buy more Yes To Tomatoes products, I am not a fan of this kit.
  • Erno Laszlo Hydraphel Skin Supplement: I have been trying to use this product up every day for what feels like over a year! The bottle states that it is a liquid lotion or hydrator, but I use it as toner. It definitely provides a light level of hydration to the skin, but it is not a replacement for moisturizer. I have no reason to repurchase.
  • Bliss Incredi-Peel 10% Glycolic Acid Spa-Strength Resurfacing Peel: You get five peel pads in this box. Each is incredibly saturated with product, so there is no way to use the pad up before your skin feels irritated. My skin is already used to these ingredients, but I cannot tolerate many swipes. These are supposed to reduce fine lines, imperfections, and discoloration, but I honestly see no changes. I will not buy again.
  • Freeman Purifying Tea Tree Clay Mask: This is a perfectly fine clay mask, but I cannot prove that my skin is being purified. I have no plans to buy again.
  • elf Oil Control Pink Powder Mask: This mask requires you to wet a brush and dip it into the product. Please note that it dries on the skin within minutes and starts turning back into a powder. That means it makes a mess in a hurry. You need a game plan to wash it off right after you apply it, so I prefer to do it before a shower. With that being said, I am not seeing a difference with oil production. I like their other products from this line, but I would not repurchase this.
  • Cleen Beauty Lavender Chamomile Night Cream: This is a super lightweight moisturizer that absorbs quickly into the skin, and it does hydrate! I even like to use it during the day because it layers nice with makeup, or other skincare. It does not control oil production on my combination skin. While I have to plans to buy again, it is nice.
  • Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment: You already know this is one of my favorites, as seen in my Sunday Riley All About Acne Kit review! I use it every other night to help treat acne and blemishes, and I swear by it. I will always stay stocked up.
  • Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow: This moisturizer does hydrate the skin with a glow. The glow is produced through shimmers and metallic reflects. You really cannot see the reflects once you apply your makeup, but you can see them on bare skin. This product does not layer the best with other skincare. You can see the metallic reflects pilling up during layering. I will not buy again.
  • wet n wild Star Lux Lip Scrub in Sugar Plum Galaxy: I prefer an abrasive lip scrub. This one has too much filler around the exfoliating particles, so many times it feels like no scrubbing is happening. I actually have to scrape the top to reveal the exfoliators. This is limited edition, but I would not go back for this formula. Their potted scrubs are better.
  • Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum: This is another one of my favorites that I use every other night to treat acne and blemishes. It really works with actual results, and I will always repurchase.
  • No 7 Biodegradable Cleansing Wipes: These wipes remind me of Neutrogena makeup wipes, which are the best-of-the-best in my opinion. The similar qualities are the feel and thickness of the wipe. I still prefer to wet these with micellar water, which I do with all wipes, even Neutrogena, because I like a nice wet cleanse. These definitely work, but I have no particular reason to buy again as I want to pivot away from disposable wipes.
  • Freeman Purifying Avocado + Oatmeal Clay Mask: I do like Freeman’s clay mask formula, and I actually I have the full-size of this. I like how it works for my blemishes when used regularly, but this packet is not enough to see an effect.
  • Bliss What a Melon Reviving & De-Stressing Overnight Mask: This overnight mask does not rub into the skin well, even with a thin layer. It also pills off. Normally, in the morning, I wash my nighttime skincare off with micellar water. I have to do a full wash to remove this product entirely, or I will have serious pilling with my skincare or makeup. I do not see any effects to make me want to buy this again and go through the steps.
  • Yeouth Pure Hyaluronic Acid: This serum does a great job at reducing oil production in my t-zone. It also absorbs into the skin quickly and layers well with other products. I will definitely consider a repurchase.

Makeup

Second, this February 2022 empties review has three makeup items.

  • Physicians Formula Matte Monoi Butter Eyeliner: This brush on eyeliner applies just as well as any other. You do get a solid, matte black line, and it dries quickly. When it comes to washing this eyeliner off, it is horrible. It turns into black chunks or crumbs that make a mess on the eye area, and really the face itself. I will not buy it again because I hate washing it off.
  • Maybelline Brow Drama Shaping Chalk Powder in Deep Brown: This is a “loose” brow powder with a paddle applicator, and it honestly applies like any brow powder. I know the description sounds intimidating, but it is not. This is super easy to use and to control, but I have no reason to buy again as I have too many brow powders.
  • elf x Jen Atkin Mist Me: This is a perfectly good makeup setting spray! It smells nice, the mist is super fine, and the coconut properties do hydrate and successfully set your makeup. This spray does not cause makeup to wear longer. It is limited edition from the elf x Jen Atkin collection, so it cannot be repurchased.

Haircare

Third, there are six haircare pieces of trash.

  • Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo: This shampoo does successfully cleanse and hydrate the hair. Otherwise, it is not special enough to buy again.
  • Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner: This conditioner definitely adds some softness and hydration. It is not so special or over the top that I would buy it again.
  • Garnier Fructis Wonder Mask + Coconut Oil: I have some deep conditioning masks that really work, but their effects only last one wash. This one claims to work for up to four washes, and it absolutely does! After each wash the effects diminish, but you can see them for the four washes. It helps to control my natural frizz by restoring softness and hydration to the hair. I went back and bought four more packets!
  • Hask Greek Yogurt Repairing Deep Conditioner: This is a nice, thick deep conditioning treatment with a lovely, fruity scent. It does leave my hair feeling a bit softer, but no other changes to speak of. I will not buy again.
  • Hask Greek Yogurt Deep Conditioner: My review is the same as the one on the above deep conditioner.
  • Ouai Detox Shampoo: This is basically a clarifying shampoo, and it does a good job of resetting your hair and getting all the product out. My hair has been left super straight and frizzy as ever. I have no plans to buy again.

Body Care

Fourth, I have four body care items in this February 2022 empties review.

  • Freeman Bare Foot Detoxifying Pink Himalayan Salt Foot Soak: The pomegranate and mint scent is really nice with this soak! You get a generous amount of product in the one-time-use pouch. While I am not sure what the salts did for me in terms of effects, this is much more enjoyable and spa-like versus using plain water. I will definitely buy this again! It is great to use in my feet soaking pedicure routine.
  • EcoTools Peppermint Essential Oil: This product is only sold in a gift set. They recommended that you apply the oil to your body along with your lotion, so that is what I did. I am surprised how quickly I used this up! Even with the dropper it does not last long. The coolness of the peppermint seems to get activated by your body lotion and it feels invigorating.
  • Freeman Sassy Thighs Firming + Smoothing Sheet Mask: After using these one-time masks, I do not see any changes with my thighs. I think products like this are nice to have fun, kind of like for a spa night. I will not buy again.
  • Freeman Pretty Arms Toning + Smoothing Sheet Mask: My thoughts are the same as those on the thigh mask.

Fragrance

I am ending this February 2022 empties review with one fragrance item.

Conclusion

In conclusion of my February 2022 empties review, this is another hot month for beauty trash! I discovered another new-to-me deep conditioning treatment for the hair that works really well! Also, I am still on the road to finishing my small bottles of body spray this year. Now that we look to the end of the first quarter of the year, it is going to be a long push on my overstocked items like body wash and facial cleansers. I can still see an end in sight to facial masks, provided that I do not go overboard in buying them. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.

Will you be trying any of these products?
