I will start with where you can buy this collection. It is available at CVS stores, on Amazon, and on wet n wild’s website. The official wet n wild Date or Dominate release date was April 5, 2024 on Amazon, with wet n wild following suit two days later. There is no PR box or sets available. You must purchase everything individually.

2-Piece Multistick Sets

I am starting off this wet n wild Date or Dominate review with the 2-Piece Multistick Sets. There are two different sets, and none of the colors are new. In Never Date An Ex we have Mother of Pearl and Poppy-lar. In Tease Then Dominate we have Chocolate Cheat Day and Burning Bridges. The multisticks are my least favorite item from the brand, as they crease horribly on the eyes and do not perform well as a lip color.

Blush & Brush Set

The Blush & Brush Set features a new shade of coloricon blush named Code Dominate. The brush is their standard blush brush from the core line. As we can expect with coloricon, this pinky red hue is packed with pigment, yet it is buildable and lasts all day. The matte finish is lovely. This is the perfect natural flush shade! You can never go wrong with their brushes. They are sturdy, high-quality, hold up for years, and blend like a dream.

Eye & Face Palettes

We have two new Eye & Face Palettes. There are no shade names, but they are numbered one through four on the back. There are a mix of shimmers and mattes. I find that the mattes produce a lot of kick-up in the pan, and I have to dip my brushes back in more often than I am used to with wet n wild eyeshadows. The mattes are a bit patchy on the eye, but nothing severe. The shimmers are just fine. This is not exactly the wet n wild quality of eyeshadow that we are used to.

Lengthening Mascara & Eyelash Curler Set

The Lengthening Mascara & Eyelash Curler Set features their OG lengthening mascara in very black, and the eyelash curler from the core line in a limited edition color. I stand behind the eyelash curler, as it truly grabs and lifts every lash with no pinching or pain. I use it daily! The lengthening mascara has a flexible, thin silicone wand that is best suited for your lower lashes. It does lengthen, but it is not as good as their original formula.

Lipstick & Liner Sets

The wet n wild Date or Dominate collection gives us two Lipstick & Liner Sets, and all colors are from the core line. Date & Tell includes the megalast Rich Satin Lip Color in Hush Lil’ Beige paired with the Waterproof Gel Lip Liner in Lay Down The Mauves. Dominate and Burn gives us megalast Rich Satin Lip Color in Berrified Life along with Waterproof Gel Lip Liner in Gone Burgundy. The pairs are a match made in heaven! Their lip liners glide on ultra smooth with no dryness, tugging, or skipping, with a satin finish. The lipsticks are a true satin, comfortable on the lips, and have full creamy pigment in one swipe. Dominate and Burn

Liquid Eyeshadows

We have two new shades of Liquid Eyeshadows to join the lineup that was released with the wet n wild 2023 new products. Their formula is top-notch because it lasts all day without creasing, fading, cracking, or moving. It looks just as good at the end of the day as it does on initial application. The shimmer is mind blowing! You get enough time to work with the formula before it dries down, and you can apply it with a flat eyeshadow brush, right from the doe foot, or with your fingers.

Volumizing Mascara & Liner Set

The Volumizing Mascara & Liner Set features their orignal volumizing mascara in Very Black, and they brought back their OG On Edge Longwearing Eye Pencil in You’re the Yin! I used to have all of the colors, even the Fergie ones (iykyk) but I decluttered them for being expired. We had On Edge before it was discontinued for Breakup Proof. The liner is matte black and ultra creamy and pigmented. It lasts all day, even on the waterline, and it does not irritiate my eyes. Their Volumizing mascara has a standard bristle wand and the formula is very dry. It leaves a lot to be desired.

Liquid Highter & Sponge Set

Last for wet n wild Date or Dominate is the Liquid Highter & Sponge Set. This set was out of stock, or rather, not stocked at all on both Amazon and WNW’s website when the collection launched. It came out about one week later. This is just like the set from the wet n wild Holiday Foxtrot collection, but the shade is new with a pinky hue. It dries down with a tacky feel, and should not be applied over powder. It gives the most gorgeous, buildable glow. It does not remove coverage underneath or emphasize texture. You can always trust their sponges to expand when wet, be super bouncy, and to not absorb much product.

To recreate the eye look, start by applying shade 1 to the crease and along the lower lash line. Next, deepen the crease with shade 2. Then, apply shade 4 to the eyelid. Now, apply shade 3 to the outer corner and connect that to the lower lash line. Using an eyeliner brush, apply the liquid eyeshadow on the lower lash line, starting at the inner corner and going about a third of the way across. Use the excess liquid eyeshadow to highlight the brow bone and inner corner. Then I used an eyeliner stencil to create the wing shape with the pencil and smudged it out.

In summary of wet n wild Date or Dominate, the collection is somewhat dissapointing from the perspective that many items are from the core line and are not new.
