I am reviewing the entire elf Holy Hydration collection with star ratings and as complete details as possible. This line is designed to really help anyone seeking to lock-in moisture, and you will see that the key ingredients are mostly the same. Hyaluronic acid is a major player here, because it is known to hydrate like no other.

Holy Hydration Face Cream

Claims: This moisturizer claims to be lightweight, to nourish, to plump, and to provide lasting hydration. Additionally, it should promote supple, firm, bouncy, and brightened skin with an evened-out complexion.

Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid for moisture, niacinamide to even out skin tone, squalane for elasticity, and Vitamin B5 to sooth and hydrate.

Directions: You are to massage a small amount onto clean skin both day and night.

Review: It comes in three varieties, which are original, with SPF, and fragrance free. All should work the same. I find that it layers well with other skincare and makeup, and it delivers lasting, lightweight hydration all day. When it comes to moisturizers, I want one that controls oil production in the t-zone. This one definitely makes me more oily, specifically on the nose, then the forehead, and finally the chin.

Holy Hydration Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm

Claims: This is a solid balm cleanser that melts into an oil texture. It should easily remove makeup without stripping the skin. Your skin should be left feeling silky and hydrated.

Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid to hydrate and to plump, ceramides to build skin’s moisture barrier, and peptides for a refreshed complexion.

Directions: Scoop out a dime-sized amount and massage it into dry skin. Add moisture to your fingertips and massage in circular motions. Be sure to close your eyes! Rinse with water or a damp cloth.

Review: I am used to products like makeup wipes, micellar water, or even plain water to remove makeup. With this balm I am 100% sure it removes everything from the skin, because of the way my skin feels. If I ever go maybe 15 minutes after a shower without moisturizer, my face starts to feel tight and uncomfortable, but that does not happen after makeup removers. This one gives me that feeling, but its good because I know everything is gone, although it does not meet its claim of making you feel hydrated. It will tackle stubborn eye and lip makeup as well. The dime-sized amount goes a long way, and I find myself craving to use this again.

Holy Hydration Daily Cleanser

Claims: This is a gel-based foaming cleanser that washes away oil, impurities, and makeup. It should leave your skin feeling clean and refreshed.

Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid for hydration, and ceramides to retain the skin’s moisture barrier.

Directions: You are to lather a dime-size amount in your hands with water, and then massage your face in upward motions. Finally, rinse and pat dry.

Review: I say this every time that I review a face wash, but it is what it is. It cleanses the face, nothing more, nothing less.

Holy Hydration Eye Cream

Claims: This eye cream should deeply hydrate and moisturize, while minimizing dark circles. It is non-greasy and fast-absorbing to lock-in moisture for refreshed eyes.

Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate, and peptides to refresh.

Directions: You are to gently dab the cream under the eyes and over the eyelids, after cleansing, both in the AM and PM.

Review: Just as the claims state, this is not a cream for anti-aging or brightening. If you are looking to hydrate your under eyes, it will do that, and nothing more. It does its job just fine, and will layer well with your other skincare and makeup products. Yes, it is also lightweight and absorbs easily. Ultimately, eye cream is not an essential. Applying your moisturizer under your eye will do.

Holy Hydration Sleeping Mask

Claims: This is a creamy mask designed to moisturize, add radiance, and to plump. It should replenish dry skin, soothe, and nourish. You can use this as an overnight or rinse-off mask.

Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid to plump and to moisturize, ceramides for the skin’s barrier, and peptides to improve texture.

Directions: You are to apply a thin layer for 10-15 minutes, and then wash it off, or leave it on all night. It can be used two to three times per week.

Review: I use this as a wash-off because overnight masks are not my jam, but I am sure it is fine overnight if you use a light hand. This mask does leave the skin feeling softer for that “baby’s bottom” type of feeling.

Holy Hydration Hydro-Gel Moisturizer

Claims: This is a lightweight gel moisturizer designed to promote plumped skin that stays hydrated. It should also plump and add bounce.

Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid to lock-in moisture, ceramides for the skin’s barrier, and peptides to promote collagen restoration.

Directions: You are to massage a small amount onto clean skin.

Review: I was thinking since the word “gel” is involved, that it would be more like a jelly product. Alas, it is a lightweight white cream. Which is a bummer, because gels tend to control my oil production. This one does a little bit, but not fully. It makes my forehead pretty oily. But, it does layer well with other skincare and makeup, and it hydrates all day.

These products do meet their claims and perform well. Often, it is me alone in the corner who gets disappointed by wanting moisturizers to go above and beyond. While all skin types can use this line, if you have dry skin, I do believe you will benefit. Do you gravitate toward hydrating skincare? Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
