The success of this January 2022 empties review is an extension of what I started in the previous month of December. I have continued doing one sheet mask a day into January, which has enabled me to finish the stragglers from 2021, and even some new masks that I got for Christmas and in my travels. While I have restocked my sheet mask stash slightly, I can now pivot away from those and work on more time consuming masks again. Otherwise, I had some samples and harder to use up items finally bite the dust, thus providing a strong start to the year. I am reviewing each of these 34 empties and will note if I would buy it again.

January 2022 Empties Review

Skincare

First in this January 2022 empties review are 26 skincare items.

  • Bliss The Detoxifier Holographic Foil Sheet Mask: This mask fits well on the face, but it is on the thicker side. This means it will have trouble staying on the chin as it dries out. It uniquely features stars for the eye holes. I cannot prove that it detoxifies the skin, nor is it truly holographic. I will not buy again.
  • Found Selfie Skin Mask: All of the Found masks seem to fit on the face well. This one does a good job of hydrating, but it is not like something miraculous happened. I have no particular reason to buy again.
  • Hanhoo Dermafix Blemish Mask(2): This mask is super saturated with product, and it fits well. I wore it when I was really breaking out, but I see no difference with the blemishes. I have no reason to repurchase.
  • Masque Bar Green Foil Peel-Off Mask: I like how this mask applies thick and is super metallic green. But, it does not remove cleanly. It leaves pieces all over the face and is somewhat painful to remove. The package does state to use micellar water when this happens, so they know it is a mess. I did not enjoy this mask enough to buy again.
  • Soap & Glory Puffy Eye Attack Under-Eye Brightening Hydrogel Patches: These patches do stay on the under eye, and they do a good job of temporarily hydrating, de-puffing, and brightening. I never buy them on their own because I get them in gift sets.
  • Found Kiwi Slice Sheet Masks: This set has 10 round masks. To give you an idea on size, one will cover the center of your forehead. I just put them all over and enjoyed the kiwi scent. It causes my skin to look temporarily plumped and more supple to help with lines. While these are nice, I doubt I will see or buy them again.
  • Aveeno Clear Complexion Purely Matte Peel-Off Mask: This mask is painful to remove, and leaves my skin just as shiny as it was before applying it. I see no mattifying effects. I will not buy this again.
  • No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum Boost Sheet Mask (3): As I always say, I love No 7 masks because they cover the face and the neck with ear loops! They fit the face perfectly and stay on. I used all three of these once per week, but of course I do not see any anti-aging. These are nice to use, but I only ever get them in gift sets.
  • elf Daily Face Cleanser: This is a general face wash that does its job. There is nothing special about it to repurchase.
  • Freeman Gold Sheet Mask: This sheet mask has several factors that make it unique. One, it only covers half of the face, starting from the forehead down to the top of the cheeks. Two, it has a double-layer, yet it is lightweight enough to stay on the face. The foil outer layer actually does retain heat! With all of this being said, I do not see any changes with my skin to cause me to buy again.
  • Freeman Silver Sheet Mask: My thoughts on this is the same as those above.
  • Sunday Riley C.E.O. Vitamin C Brightening Serum: I always enjoy this sample because the serum is lightweight, interacts well with other skincare and makeup, and it does brighten. It is the price that scares me away, but one day I might spring for it.
  • Sunday Riley C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream: This cream does provide hydration, moisturization, and some glow. I never buy it again, simply living sample to sample.
  • SpaLife Collagen Anti-Aging and Hydrating 3-step Collagen Boost Treatment: The step one serum is terrible! It pills on contact with your skin, and I applied this after showering and toning, so there was no other products on my face or hands to interact with it. You cannot get the serum into the skin at all. The sheet mask is basic and they could do a better job with the eye holes. The step three serum absorbs as it should. I see no effects with this treatment and I will not repurchase.
  • Bliss Eye Got This Holographic Foil Eye Masks (3): These are made of a lightweight, clear paper with holographic stars. They stay on the face well! I do not see much brightening, but they definitely hydrate and de-puff. I have no plans to buy again.
  • Bliss Pumpkin Powerhouse Resurfacing & Exfoliating Enzyme Mask: This is not my first pumpkin mask, but this one is much easier to spread across the skin than others. It definitely exfoliates during the removal process, as it has textured exfoliators. There is no special reason to buy it again.
  • elf 100 MG CBD Facial Oil: This is a nice face oil that easily absorbs into the skin and does not leave you greasy. You can even wear this with makeup! It layers well with other products, and even my combination skin can handle it. I actually used this up by applying it all over the body, as the expiration date was coming up soon. They do offer a body version of this oil, but I specifically recall elf saying to mix this oil in with the body lotion. I have no plans to buy again, only because I need to use acne fighting oil.
  • elf Soothing Facial Oil Mist: I am still on the journey of using up all of the Facial Oil Mists, and I have two left. They are mostly a gimmick when it comes to changing your mood. I empty them by using them as a skincare spray before applying moisturizer. They do nothing for the skin and I will not buy again.
  • elf 50 MG CBD Eye Cream: If you want an eye cream that takes forever to use up, this is your best friend! This eye cream effectively hydrates, but it will not brighten or de-puff. To be fair, it only claims to moisturize. Eye creams are not necessary in skincare routines, as your facial moisturizer will achieve the same result. While this product works as it should, I do not have a reason to buy it again.
  • Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream: This is one of my favorite eye creams because it does temporarily brighten, depuff, and moisturize. It is great alone or under makeup. I usually do not repurchase due to the price, and eye creams are not a necessary skincare step.
  • Bliss Mighty Marshmallow Bright & Radiant Whipped Mask: If you love a good whipped mask, this one has that divine light and airy texture. With this tiny pot I cannot say I am seeing a change with radiance. I have no plans to buy again.

Makeup

Second in this January 2022 empties review is three makeup empties.

  • wet n wild Bayside Cheerleading Mascara in Black: This is a pretty good mascara from wet n wild, from their Saved By the Bell collection. It is really a re-lease of the Bretman Rock Bad Bitch Lift Mascara. It does a great job of grabbing and coating each lash to lengthen them. While I would like to see more volume, this is even a good choice for the lower lashes. I have no plans to buy again.
  • wet n wild Pump Partner Up Primer Stick: This primer melts into the skin well, and makeup looks fine over top. I do not see it doing anything for my makeup. This is from the limited edition Pump line, it cannot be repurchased.
  • Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Powder Foundation: I ended up finishing this product by using it as a setting powder. I hated this as a powder foundation, as it does not have any of the qualities that I look for. This powder foundation does not build well, as it looks heavy and cakey on the skin. The coverage is not full. As a setting powder it is not long lasting and still leaves tacky areas. I am so glad to be done with this and I will not buy again.

Bodycare

Next, I have three body care items.

  • Raw Sugar Sleep Well & Restore Melatonin Lotion: This lotion has a lovely herbal, natural scent. It absorbs quickly into the skin with no greasy residue, and it does successfully hydrate. I see no changes with my sleep. There is no big reason to buy this again, but it is good.
  • Soap & Glory The Scrub of Your Life: This is a great scrub and body wash combo that gently foams and effectively exfoliates. I always get this in gift sets so I do not buy it on its own.
  • Ecotools Softening Rose + Coconut Body Lotion: This is a lightweight body lotion that absorbs into the skin quickly without leaving behind a greasy residue. It only comes in a gift set.

Haircare

I have one quick hair item.

  • Amika The Kure Intense Bond Repair Mask: This is essentially a deep conditioning treatment and I think it does leave the hair feeling a little bit softer and healthier after use. I do not see anything major enough happening where I feel like I need the full size.

Fragrance

I am ending this January 2022 empties review with one fragrance product.

  • Body Fantasies Follow Your Dreams: This is a raspberry and passion fruit scented body spray. It can only be found in their Christmas gift sets, as it is not sold separately. There is nothing special about it, in my opinion.

Conclusion

In summary of this January 2022 empties review, this is a great way to start the year! I hope that I have created a powerful momentum that will continue through the remaining 11 months. This year I anticipate using up all masks and going back to long-abandoned full-size tubes. I really want to make a dent in face wash, body wash, and moisturizers. Makeup is always a sore subject, as it takes ages to use even a sample up. I am still forbidden from buying body sprays, and there might be a chance that I can kill all of the small bottles. Please stick with me in 2022, as the empties are going to continue coming in hot, and that means many reviews for you. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
