June 2022 Empties Review

We are half way through the year! My June 2022 empties review contains 15 items. That is pretty low for my normal streak, but rest assured, I am continuing to work on products that simply take time. I am excited that I knocked out a full-size moisturizer this month! As I always do, I have detailed reviews on all items where I mention if they wowed enough for a repurchase.

Skincare

First in this June 2022 empties review is eight skincare products.

• Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Facial Wipes: I buy these wipes only for makeup swatch removal because they are cheap, thin, and dry. Honestly, they are so horrible, I may not buy them again for swatches.
• wet n wild Sweet Dreams Lip Scrub: When I originally reviewed this lip scrub as a part of the wet n wild Little Twin Stars collection, I thought it was more like the scrub from Star Luxe. I said that this had too much filler and not enough exfoliants. After using this daily until completion, I take that review back! This scrub is a nice improvement over the Star Luxe version. It has plenty of gentle exfoliants that get the job done right, and I like the sugary fruit taste, plus the blue look is fun. This scrub is limited edition.
• No 7 Line Correcting Booster Serum: This serum does not layer well with other skincare or makeup, as it will pill up. I do not see anything happening with my skin, so I will not repurchase.
• B Pure Concentrated Facial Serum Niacinamide: I should know better that a Dollar Tree brand serum is not going to work. Each pod has a lot of product in it, but it is super greasy on the skin! I am talking oily and greasy like no tomorrow. I would not pair this with makeup and reserve it for nighttime use. The greasy feel gets a bit better when you layer products over top, but it does not absorb into the skin and go away. Further, I see no effects. I also cannot pull the tops off of the capsules. I either use scissors, or twist until they break open a bit. These are a no from me.
• elf Facial Oil Mist Restoring: As I keep saying, I am using these up as skincare facial sprays. The sprays themselves do not do anything and are a gimmick. I will not repurchase.
• Freeman Exfoliating Charcoal Gel Mask + Scrub: This mask acts as a great gentle scrub with its gritty texture, but that texture makes it difficult to evenly spread over the face to act as a mask. The exfoliation happens when you wipe/wash it off. It is a matter of personal preference to like the clay version better, so I will not buy this again.
• elf Holy Hydration Sleeping Mask: As covered in my elf Holy Hydration review, this is a great mask to hydrate and to soften the skin! If you have dry skin, you should give this one a try. While I have combo skin, I have been experiencing two small areas on my face that are dry and peeling, and I will say this mask does not work for that. But, it does give you that ‘soft as a baby’s bottom’ feel quickly. I have no plans to buy again.
• Grown Alchemist Hydra Repair Day Cream: This moisturizer has a natural scent and does a good job. It does not make my oily skin better or worse. It layers well with skincare and makeup. My only gripe is the metal tube packaging. That makes it hard to get out every last drop. Although, I am the type of person that does not squeeze from the bottom, so I know that I create my own issues. I will not repurchase.

Bodycare

Second is three body care empties.

• Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier in Pina Colada: For the most part this drink mix dissolves, but some will settle to the bottom, and otherwise make your water cloudy. The flavor is not chalky, and I enjoy this sweet pineapple flavor the best so far. I cannot prove that it is hydrating my body differently. I have no plans to repurchase. Plus, it contains too much sugar.
• Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter: This body cream is thick and luxurious, with their great Original Pink scent. It is also effective and I will always recommend it, yet I do not repurchase and leave it to gift sets.
• Extreme by Natural White Activated Charcoal Toothpaste: This one is not as messy as others, as the formula is more like a black/gray gel. I have never seen a charcoal toothpaste do anything for me, and this is no different. I will not repurchase.

Haircare

Third is one haircare item.

• Go Gray Purple Toning Mask: As discussed in my Walmart Beauty Box Summer 2022 review, this product did not make my blonde highlights gray. I see a bit of an effect with toning, but my hair needs blue and not purple. If you are a natural blonde who has gone blonder, or is rocking their natural color, maybe give this a try. Or, if you have gray or silver hair, give it a go. In terms of acting as a deep conditioner, my hair feels no different. I will not buy again.

Makeup

Fourth for June 2022 empties is two makeup products.

• Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water: I use this as a setting spray, and it does a great job of setting makeup! As far as a primer or setting spray goes, this does not extend the wear time of makeup. I do have two more bottles, but I have no plans to buy again.
• elf HD Concealer: This concealer is discontinued, which is somewhat sad. I really like the smooth, yet lightweight formula and how skin-like it looks. I am convinced this is their Acne Fighting foundation in a concealer bottle. It has a buildable medium to full coverage and lasts all day. The main thing was the bad shade range. I had the lightest shade but it just about matched my skin tone, but not quite. I would like to see this come back with many shades.

Fragrance

This June 2022 empties review ends with one fragrance item.

• Body Fantasies Fresh White Musk: The name says it all, this is a musk made for women. It is strong and has never been my thing. I will not buy again.

Conclusion

In summary of this June 2022 empties review, a month with ‘less’ items does not evidence defeat! I know for a fact this year that I will finally use up all masks, which has been years in the making. There are a few items that I am preserving for an August trip, or else I could have easily worked them into the June numbers. Most of the hair items that I am working on are huge, so there will not be much traction there. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
