In a products world where I am functioning without skincare masks padding my numbers, I am very excited to announce that my August 2022 empties review contains 19 items! I mentioned previously that I deferred items from June and July into August to save them for a trip. Now that the trip has passed, I was able to finish several items. Some of my favorites are here, plus I have a nice hair conditioning mask comparison. There is even a super old body spray! What an achievement! Let’s dive into the details and see what I would buy again.

Skincare

I am starting this August 2022 empties review off with seven skincare products.

  • Burt’s Bees Hydrating Sheet Mask with Clay Sage: This mask fits on the face well and provides a light level of hydration. It did make my skin a little bit red, but nothing too wild. I have no plans to buy again.
  • elf Energizing Facial Oil Mist: I have finally finished my stash of facial oil mists by using them as a skincare spray! As I say for each one, I think they are a gimmick and provide no real benefits. You can get the full details in my elf Facial Oil Mist review where I cover the full line, but I will not repurchase.
  • Palmers Coconut Water Hydrating Sheet Mask: This mask makes your skin feel as hydrated as any other sheet mask does. The formula did tingle/burn a bit, but nothing crazy. It does fit the face decently. I have no plans to buy again.
  • elf Mint Melt Minty Fresh Cooling Facial Cleanser: This is a never-ending foaming face wash! I used it several times when I first bought it to try it out, and I spent most of this year trying to use this up! The mint scent is light and not overbearing. It cleans the face, but it does nothing special or over the top. I will not repurchase. You can get more details on this, plus more minty skincare in my elf Mint Melt review.
  • The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%: I used up an entire bottle of this serum a long time ago, but it did nothing for my blemishes. I decided to give this another try, and I still see no effects. A lot of people love this serum, and I really wanted to love it too. I think it layers ok for the most part, it might not agree with all skincare and makeup. I will not buy this again.
  • Freeman Pore Cleansing Marble Peel-Off Mask: I am not a huge fan of slathering a peel-off mask on using your hands, because they are a bit tricky to wash off. I would not say this is a marble effect once your hands mix it up, but it really reminds me of the Trix yogurt with the two flavors/colors. How is that for a flash back! This peels off painlessly, but I cannot prove that my pores are clear. I have no plans to repurchase.
  • Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes: These are my second favorite makeup wipes because they are thick, decently wet, and they get the job done. I do add some micellar water to them. They do not burn my eyes. Did you know that they are new and improved as plant-based so they are compostable? I am no longer using makeup wipes, but I will repurchase the seven pack for travel!

Body Care

Second are five body care products.

  • Soap & Glory Clean On Me: As I have reviewed this many times, we already know this is a super creamy and moisturizing body wash. It features their Original Pink scent. I always get this in gift sets so I have no reason to buy it again.
  • Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter: This is a thick body lotion that successfully moisturizes with the Original Pink scent. Much like the body wash, I do not seek this out because of gift sets.
  • EcoTools Smoothing Exfoliating + Softening Body Scrub: This body scrub is a perfectly good exfoliator, and it is also gentle. I do appreciate the rose and coconut scent. This product is not sold individually.
  • Dove Deep Moisture Nourishing Body Wash: This body wash effectively moisturizes the skin and leaves it feeling soft. The scent is a bit powder fresh and fruity. I have so much body wash to use up that I have no plans to buy more.
  • Soap & Glory Hand Food: I have reviewed this many times, and this hand cream is completely effective at moisturizing all day long. Plus, it features their Original Pink scent. It is not greasy and absorbs easily into the skin when you do not overdo it. I still have more to use up!

Hair Care

Third for this August 2022 empties review is four hair care items.

  • Herbal Essences Bio Renew Volume White Grapefruit & Mimosa Mint In-The-Shower Foam Conditioner: I have never used a foam condition that did anything for my hair, and this is the same. I will not repurchase.
  • Palmers Coconut Oil Moisture Boost Protein Pack: I am disappointed that this treatment did not make my hair feel like I used a deep conditioner on it. I saw no special effects, so I will not buy this again.
  • Palmers Coconut Oil Zero Break Pre-Shampoo: This is my first time hearing of a pre-shampoo. It feels just like a deep conditioner, but you apply it to your dry hair for 10 minutes before your shower. Then, you rinse it out and shampoo and condition like normal. The smell of the ingredients is so rich, it almost smells like cocoa! However, I did not like my hair after using this. It gave me some curl somehow, even though I do not have curly hair, but it looked stringy and tangly. I will not repurchase.
  • Palmers Coconut Oil 2 Step Hair Mask: This is the Palmers hair product that actually worked for me! It made my hair feel soft, hydrated, and deep conditioned. It helped to mitigate some frizz, but not all. My hair dried naturally straight with it. While it is good, I have no plans to buy again as of yet.

Makeup

Next are two makeup products.

  • Smashbox Earth Photo Finish Primer Water: This is a perfectly good primer to set your makeup, but it does not extend wear time. I will not repurchase.
  • Benefit Hoola Lite Matte Bronzer: This is the perfect matte bronzer shade for fair skin! It lasts all day, is buildable, and easy to blend. It never looks muddy or harsh. There are enough dupes out there and similar shades in my collection that I will not be repurchasing.

Fragrance

I am ending my August 2022 empties review with one body spray.

  • Body Fantasies Vanilla Fantasy: It seems so crazy that this is an empty! My bottle says copyright 2005, and I do think I have had it that long! I found this in the Walgreen’s clearance aisle ages ago. You might remember back in the early 2000s that everyone who wanted to smell like vanilla was wearing this. Trust me, if you get a whiff, it will take you back. This is the perfect vanilla fragrance! I almost feel bad throwing it away after having it for this long. This is not on my rebuy list as I want to use up all of my body sprays.

Conclusion

In summary of this August 2022 empties review, I knocked out some tough stuff! From the never ending face wash, to the 2005 body spray, this is an interesting assortment. Having two body washes here is great, but there are so many full size bottles to go. Hair care is in a good place, and moisturizers are never ending. I think I am on track to feeling confident about my stockpile as the year winds down. I hope you are meeting your empties goals! Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
