Purchase Options
The elf x Jen Atkin collection can be purchased online from elf Cosmetics or from Ulta. Both websites carry the same products.
You can purchase each product separately, and there are two kits. First is the Xxtra Lip Kit, which contains all three of Xxtra Lip Duos. Second is the Eyes Up Here Kit, which contains the Hair and Brow Pomade, Zero Effort Liner in Jet Set Black, and a bonus Eyebrow Duo Brush that you can only get in this kit. This brush is available in elf’s everyday collection with either a black handle or clear/white. If you want this limited white brush, then you should purchase the Eyes Up Here Kit.
Mist Me?
The first item in this elf x Jen Atkin review is Mist Me. The spray nozzle provides a fine mist that is highly enjoyable. I would totally keep this bottle and refill it with another setting spray simply to use the nozzle! The coconut scent is mild, and this product does effectively set your makeup. You can also use it to refresh your makeup or on bare skin. I like to use these types of mists on bare skin before applying moisturizer for an extra boost of hydration. I do not find that it extends the wear of makeup, but it does not make that claim.
Claims: This is a lightweight facial mist to instantly renew, moisturize, and refresh skin before and after makeup application.

Hair and Brow Pomade
Second is the Hair and Brow Pomade. My first impression is that the micro-brush will work well for hair, but will not get into the brows. I am proud to report I am wrong! This product does effectively set the brows in place with non-crunchy hold that is natural. Usually, I have to apply more pomade after eyeshadow and setting spray because my brow hairs move, but I do not have to with this product. It also effectively tames hairs. I recommend wiping the micro-brush off on a tissue when doing your brows, otherwise you will get pigment in the clear gel. You will not waste product by wiping it off, as it distributes all product into your brows.
Claims: This 2-in-1 pomade works double duty to set and define your brows, plus tame flyaways and baby hairs at your hairline. The formula is long-wearing and easy to use, with a unique micro-brush that evenly distributes product.

Zero Effort Liner
Third are the Zero Effort Liners. Jet Set Black is a classic black liner, while Brown to Earth is a deep brown. These are standard pencils that you must sharpen. The formula is incredibly soft, so it does not pull, drag, or tug. You can definitely smudge these out. The finish is matte and they do set down and will not budge. You have about 30 seconds to a minute to play with these before they set.
Claims: A cream-to-powder, long-lasting eyeliner pencil that effortlessly swipes a defined line or smudges out for a smokey eyeshadow look.

Xxtra Lip Duos
Fourth are the Xxtra Lip Duos. One side is a lipstick, while the other is a retractable lip liner that perfectly matches the lip color. I have not personally come across another product such as these, but please let me know in the comments if you know of any! I always wear lip liner with any lip color, so having a liner built-in is perfect for those like me. You never have to worry about the liner not matching, and these are perfect to throw in your purse or makeup bag. The formula is matte, and there is little to no transfer, despite the fact that they do not fully dry down like a liquid lipstick would. These feel great on the lips! You can wear these all day. I keep forgetting that I have lip color on when I wear these. They are not drying, nor do they feel moisturizing. Red-y To Go is a classic red, while Se.l.f. Made Pink is a neutral everyday pink, and Bring it On Brown is a fresh nude. This shade range is perfect, covering the shades that most people go for, while making them wearable for any occasion.
Claims: These duos define and enhance the lips. They deliver smooth, vibrant color and a rich, matte finish that is creamy and blendable.

Let’s E.LF.ing Do This Palette – Fair/Light
The final product in this elf x Jen Atkin review is the Let’s E.L.F.ing Do This Palette. It comes in both Fair/Light and Medium/Deep. However, Fair/Light is sold out from Ulta and elf. My palette is Fair/Light since I am fair. Upon first glance, this palette is extremely concerning. The tones appear to be too dark to be suitable for fair skin. Looks can be deceiving! This palette is beautiful on fair skin.
In this palette you get four matte eyeshadows, one highlighter, one blush, and one bronzer. This is truly a multipurpose, one-and-done palette. I challenge you to think outside of the box when using this. In my makeup look coming up next, I use this palette for contouring and filling my brows, besides the prescribed uses. This saves a lot of time, as well as space in your makeup bag. Can you say travel friendly?!
The blush has a slight shimmer, but it is natural and healthy looking on the cheeks. You can absolutely reach for these tones on a daily basis, whether you wear the palette for work, school, day, or night.
All of these powders are incredibly soft and buttery. I do see some dust flying in the air when I apply the eyeshadow, but they produce little to no fall-out or in-pan kick up. You do have to build the eyeshadows up, but that is intentional. All of the powders in this palette are designed to have medium pigmentation to help you control the intensity of the look. That is why this palette looks great on fair skin, despite the shades looking too dark in the pan. I will say the highlighter is on the cusp of looking too dark on me, but it does pass. The blush will not make you look like a clown, and the bronzer is not muddy.
Claims: This all-inclusive face and eye palette features a complete range of universally flattering shades.

Makeup Look
I am finishing this elf x Jen Atkin review with a full face of elf Cosmetics featuring this collection! The palette is the big star in this look. Do note that the shades do not have names.
I used the darkest eyeshadow, or the fourth one, to fill my brows. Then, I set my brows with the Hair and Brow Pomade. I also used the Hair and Brow Pomade to tame baby hairs around my face and hair line.
Of course, my blush, bronzer, and highlight are from the palette. Additionally, I used the third eyeshadow to contour the hollows of my cheeks. A good contour should be cool toned, but all of the palette shades are warm. It did the job.
I do not own elf mascara (but I have some on the way), so I am using other drugstore mascara.
Here is a full list of products used (notice how short the list is because of the multi-purpose palette!):
- Puff Puff Primer
- All Day Stay Eyeshadow Primer
- Camo CC Cream in Fair 120N
- Hydrating Camo Concealer in Fair Warm
- HD Setting Powder in Soft Luminance
- elf xx Jen Atkin Let’s e.l.f.ing Do This Palette
- elf xx Jen Atkin Hair & Brow Pomade in Clear Coat
- elf xx Jen Atkin Mist Me?
- elf xx Jen Atkin Zero Effort Liner in Jet Set Black
- elf xx Jen Atkin Xxtra Lip Duo in Bring it On Brown
- Loreal Voluminous Primer**
- wet n wild Big Papa Mascara in Blackest Black**
I am wearing Bring it on Brown on the lips. It looks sort of dry on me but I promise it feels and looks great in real life!
To create the eye look, start by setting your eyeshadow primer with the first eyeshadow. Next, apply the second eyeshadow, the cognac brown, to the crease and bring it down below the eye. Then, apply the third eyeshadow low in the crease to deepen it, also bring that shade below the eye. Now, apply the first eyeshadow to the eyelid. You can also apply it below the eye closer to the inner corner. Next, apply the fourth eyeshadow, the darkest brown, to the outer-v and connect it down to the lower lash line. Finish the look by highlighting the inner corner and brow bone with the highlighter.

Conclusion
In summary of this elf x Jen Atkin review, I am giving every item five out of five stars! I swear I am not sponsored by elf, but they have yet again blown all of us away with these products. Each and every product works and stands up to its claims. The quality is definitely present, which will cause you to question yourself if you are really using drugstore makeup, or if these items are high-end. The shades provided truly embody Jen’s philosophy of wanting to have makeup that suits everyone and is accessible. I am proud to have this collection as a part of my larger collection and to be able to share it with you. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.

Same! There’s really nothing wrong with it in all honesty. I’m probably going to use these items again this week. Lately elf has been doing a really good job with the quality of their collections.
