Do you think it is possible to change your mood simply by misting your face? In this elf Facial Oil Mist review, we will find out! The internet, and even the world, is becoming much more accepting about the need for self care and general wellness. Born out of this need are six facial sprays from elf, packaged in aesthetic, yet minimalistic, clear rainbow bottles. The supposed key to their success is the formula infused with essential oil, thus providing scent therapy. If you can spray your face and instantly feel happy, then I am all for it! I have all six types and I am providing the claims, details, and my review on this collection.

Claims

I am starting this elf Facial Oil Mist Review with the claims and directions from elf’s website. These mists claim to provide a mood boost to the mind and body. The collection of six sprays are formulated with a blend of essential oils. You can mist them onto the face as needed. The bottles contain 2.02 fl oz of product. The bottle is colored, but the mist is clear. Here are the six options:

You can find the elf Facial Oil Mists on elf’s website and both in-store and online at Walmart.

Are They a Gimmick?

While I have not tried these over makeup, the formula is water-based with a small amount of actual oil included, so I believe nothing bad will happen. I like to mist my scent of choice all over the face, as desired. They dry down almost instantly and leave behind no residue on the skin. If you like facial mists, then you will like these. I do enjoy how refreshing they are, while I see no actual skincare benefits. The scents are not overbearing and the mister is decent. While it does not spray like a firehose, it is also not as fine as a makeup setting spray.

You are here reading this elf Facial Oil Mist review because you really want to know, do these things actually work? Can you spray an energizing mist on your face and truly feel energized? With these types of products my viewpoint is that it is all in the mind. If you spray a “soothing” mist on your face and you are convincing your brain to be soothed, then it does work psychologically. I am basically referencing the placebo effect.

The Calming spray is my most used spray, as I keep it on my desk and use it when my job is mentally taxing me. If a simple mist can convince my brain that I am now calm, cool, and collected, then it is worth my money. Generally speaking, a facial spray alone cannot make you suddenly feel calm or balanced. With all of that being said, these make a good addition to your self care routine. I would even keep these in your skincare fridge if you like a chilled mist. For something with makeup benefits and dewy properties, I recommend checking out the elf+ Glow Collection products.

Conclusion

In summary of this elf Facial Oil Mist review, we need to face the facts that sprays such as these are partially a gimmick. If you can convince your brain that you will feel a certain way after using one of these sprays, then these will be totally worth it for you. Otherwise, they are optional in your self care or skincare routine. Ultimately, I would repurchase the scents that fit into my life the most, which would be Calming, Soothing, and Energizing. There is nothing wrong with misting your face down to feel refreshed and invigorated. These are a great option for that from the drugstore. elf should consider making these in larger bottles! Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
