After a slow March as I struggle with being too busy to put a full focus on empties, April is looking a bit brighter. This April 2023 empties review features 19 items, but it is still heavy on skincare. In this month I have been able to focus on one-time-use sheet masks, plus a few samples from a past subscription box. As I always do, I am detailing each item to help you to make a purchase decision.

April 2023 Empties Review

I am starting this April 2023 empties review with 15 skincare items.

Skincare

  • Bliss Eye Got This Holographic Foil Eye Masks: These eye masks stay on the face well and provide hydration while de-puffing. You will not get much of a brightening effect, but these work for their intended purpose. I have no plans to buy again.
  • Bliss The Detoxifier Holographic Foil Sheet Mask: This sheet mask fits the face really well, but I cannot prove that it is detoxifying to warrant a repurchase.
  • Yes To Grapefruit 2-step Unicorn Lip Kit: The lip scrub effectively, yet gently exfoliates away dead skin to leave your lips feeling soft. You are given so much product that you can use it several times! The paper lip mask stays on the lips and gives you the same hydrating effect of lip balm. While this set does work, I have no plans to buy again.
  • Masque Bar Mistletoe Sheet Mask: Masque Bar masks are sized really strange and do not fit the best. This one has a bit of a cooling and refreshing feel. Otherwise, I see nothing happening outside of the usual hydration that a sheet mask temporarily provides. I will not buy this again.
  • Masque Bar Poinsettia Sheet Mask: My review on this mask is the same as the one above, except there is no cooling affect.
  • Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser: This clear gel cleanser gently gets sudsy to effectively clean your face. There is nothing special about it to cause me to buy it again.
  • Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Vitamin C: I love this micellar water because it provides an immediate brightening effect to the skin that looks healthy and natural. Besides that, Garnier is great because it gets the job done effectively without burning your eyes. I will definitely buy this again.
  • Freeman Work Your Magic Clarifying Botanical Extracts Peel-Off Glitter Mask: This mask is fun for the clear blue and glitter aspect, plus it is not painful to remove. I cannot prove that it is revitalizing anything. I will not repurchase.
  • Freeman Cool to Be Kind Calming Lavender Lush Cream Mask: The lavender scent is nice, and the cream is hydrating for the skin. I have no plans to buy it again.
  • Olivia Grace Rose Hip Under-Eye Pads (3): These under eye-pads are pretty large, but they do stay on the face and hydrate the skin. There is no brightening effect. I have no reason to buy these again.
  • Olivia Grace Tea Tree Face Sheet Mask: This mask fits well on the face, and it is extra packed with serum. It leaves my skin feeing hydrated and fresh, but I see no effects that would cause me to purchase it again.
  • Olivia Grace Retinol Face Sheet Mask: My review on this mask is the same as the one above.
  • Olivia Grace Collagen Face Sheet Mask: My review on this mask is the same as the tea tree mask.

Haircare

Second are two hair items.

  • Tresemme Color Revitalize Shampoo: I used to really like this shampoo years ago, so I am not sure if my hair somehow got used to it or mine is outdated, but I do not like it much anymore. In the past it would make my hair feel soft and hydrated, but now I need more. This is a no-go for the future.
  • Marc Anthony Repair Bond Repair & Protect Leave-In Treatment: This product sprays well onto the hair without spitting out chunks of product like you normally get with a spray-in treatment! I find that it does help add some softness and anti-frizz action, but I still need to use hair oil. I enjoy the fact that it adds heat protection. As of now I have no plans to buy it again. Beauty

I am ending this April 2023 empties review with two beauty items.

  • wet n wild Care Bears Mascara: The wand does grab all of the lashes, and I see some length and volume. But, it leaves something to be desired. I have no plans to buy more. You can read more in my wet n wild Care Bears Collection review.
  • Covergirl Color Correcting Serum Moisturizer Primer: This product does feel like a moisturizing skincare item and it color corrects well. Green all-over the face products never work for me, so this is impressive. It does create a nice base for makeup. However, it does not extend wear time at all. I find that it may actually hurt wear time a bit. Also, this product really gets into my skin and I have trouble fully ‘washing my face out’ if you will. I have to use three different cleansers to get my skin fully clean. I will not buy the full size.

Conclusion

In summary of this April 2023 empties review, I am glad that I got to use up many sheet masks! I am on the road to running out of masks again, besides a tub of powder that I have to mix myself that will last for ages. This year will continue to be the battle of face wash, moisturizer, and body wash. I hope that as the months roll on I will find more time to focus on using up products. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
