Physicians Formula Bread and Butter At A Glance
• This is a seven piece makeup collection.
• It features three lip glosses, two bronzers, one blush, and one highlughter.
• The powders are very creamy and blendable, yet they use an overspray.
• The lip glosses are very sticky but have a high shine.
I know that I am beyond late to the game to test out the Physicians Formula Bread and Butter line, but truth be told, nothing particularly caught my eye when it was released. If you are on the fence like me I am serving up detailed reviews with swatches.
Details & Claims
For access to all of the products, you have to shop Physicians Formula. Ulta only carries the Bread and Butter Full Collection PR Box. Amazon has the Toasty bronzer and blush.
Below is what the PR box looks like. It does contain the full collection, packaged in a sturdy, magnetic closure box. I am keeping my box as I cannot bear to throw it out!

Review
Before we dive into the reviews, I want to state that each product makes the claim to condition and to moisturize the skin. Also, these last all day on the skin with the typical smooth application and blendable and buildable formula that we are used to from the brand.
Bread and Butter Bronzer
It comes in two shades, which are Toasty and Baked, that are basically inverses of each other. The formula is very creamy, almost like a cream to powder. By swatching them with my finger I really made a mess of the design! The scent does not smell like bread in any way. While I cannot put my finger on it, it is something perfumed. The creaminess of this formula actually does it detriment, as it can look muddy on the face if you are not careful. Experimenting with different brushes and bases are key here.
You can easily find better bronzers from the company that are packaged in the same bulky format. I suggest that you start with my Matte Monoi Butter Bronzer review to find your best shade!
Claims: These bronzers have a creamy formula that glides on seamlessly like butter. They instantly add warmth to the complexion for all-day coverage, with a freshly baked bread scent.

Strawberry Jam Blush
Sadly, the strawberries are an overspray. PF is top of mind when I think of companies that still use an overspray. The bright red mixed with the punch of pink gives a bright pink cheek that is not as natural as the claims state. Once the strawberries wear off, you will be left with quite a pop of pink. This can be nice for summer. For a more natural cheek, the Physicians Formula Butter Buddies line has a lot to offer, as detailed in my review.
Claims: This blush smells like strawberry jam and provides a natural color. It should glide on seamlessly for all-day coverage.

Let’s Toast Highlighter
This has an in-your-face perfumed scent. Unfortunately, the champagne glasses are an overspray. The highlight on the glasses is a much better tone for fair skin than the base color in the pan, but it is doable. This is a buildable highlighter, so you can control how subtle it is. But, it never gets blinding, as you can see with my Physicians Formula Bread and Butter swatches.
Claims: This highlighter has a soft and creamy texture that combines the features of a powder and a cream formula. It provides a lit from within glow for buttery soft, silky, all-day coverage.

Watermelon Sugar Lip Gloss
I gasped when I pulled the applicator out of the tube and found a brush instead of a doe foot! This packaging component has been used a million times over by Markwins, but never with a brush. I actually like the brush because it holds more product than a doe foot, and allows you to spread the color and to work with it better.
This lip gloss formula is thicker and heavier than what we are used to with PF. It also has a slight amount of stickiness, but nothing crazy. The sheer tint is nice, and the sweet watermelon scent and flavor is the bomb. If you are seeking that wet juicy lip look, you should try these. I would call them more of a lip glaze than a gloss, and I am docking stars for the formula.
Claims: This is a nourishing lip gloss with a burst of fruity watermelon flavor. It provides a high shine with a buttery soft feel and a sheer tint of color.

FAQ
What products are included in the Physicians Formula Bread and Butter Collection?
The collection includes seven products: three lip glosses, two bronzers, one blush, and one highlighter. Each product is designed to provide a creamy, blendable finish with signature scents.
Where can I buy the Physicians Formula Bread and Butter Collection?
You can shop the full collection directly on the Physicians Formula website. Ulta carries the Bread and Butter Full Collection PR Box, while Amazon offers select items such as the Toasty bronzer and Strawberry Jam blush.
Is the Bread and Butter Bronzer worth buying?
The bronzer has a creamy formula and good pigment payoff, but it can appear muddy if not applied carefully. While blendable, the scent is perfumed rather than bread-like. You can find smoother alternatives in other Physicians Formula bronzers.
Does the Strawberry Jam Blush really have strawberries in the design?
Yes, the blush features a strawberry pattern, but it’s an overspray. Once that wears off, the remaining product leaves a bright pink finish that’s better suited for summer looks.
How does the Let’s Toast Highlighter perform?
The highlighter has a soft, creamy texture and provides a subtle glow that can be built up. However, the champagne glass design is just an overspray, and the base shade may not suit all skin tones.
Are the Watermelon Sugar Lip Glosses sticky?
Yes, the glosses are thicker and slightly sticky, but they deliver a juicy, high-shine finish with a fun brush applicator and sweet watermelon flavor.
What are the pros and cons of the Bread and Butter Collection?
The pros include good pigment, smooth blending, and fun packaging. The main cons are heavy scents, oversprays, bulky packaging, and a sticky gloss formula.
Shop The Collection
These products are not fully up to the quality standards that we typically see from the brand, plus they do not offer anything that unique outside of their normal, daily line. Are you buying anything from this collection, or is it a pass? Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
