I know that I am beyond late to the game to test out the Physicians Formula Bread and Butter line, but truth be told, nothing particularly caught my eye when it was released. I waited for a sale to purchase the box set. Odds are you might be on the fence like me, and after all, you are here looking for detailed reviews with swatches! I am serving those up to help you to determine which products are right for you.
Where to Buy The Physicians Formula Bread and Butter Collection
I will start with where you can buy the Physicians Formula Bread and Butter collection. For access to all of the products, you have to shop Physicians Formula. Ulta only carries the Bread and Butter Full Collection PR Box. Amazon has the Toasty bronzer and blush.
Below is what the PR box looks like. It does contain the full collection, packaged in a sturdy, magnetic closure box. I am keeping my box as I cannot bear to throw it out!
Physicians Formula Bread and Butter Collection Review
Before we dive into the reviews, I want to state that each product makes the claim to condition and to moisturize the skin. Also, these last all day on the skin with the typical smooth application and blendable and buildable formula that we are used to from the brand.
Bread and Butter Bronzer
First is the Physicians Formula Bread and Butter Bronzer. It comes in two shades, which are Toasty and Baked, that are basically inverses of each other. The formula is very creamy, almost like a cream to powder. By swatching them with my finger I really made a mess of the design! The scent does not smell like bread in any way. While I cannot put my finger on it, it is something perfumed. The creaminess of this formula actually does it detriment, as it can look muddy on the face if you are not careful. Experimenting with different brushes and bases are key here.
You can easily find better bronzers from the company that are packaged in the same bulky format. I suggest that you start with my Matte Monoi Butter Bronzer review to find your best shade!
Claims: These bronzers have a creamy formula that glides on seamlessly like butter. They instantly add warmth to the complexion for all-day coverage, with a freshly baked bread scent.

Strawberry Jam Blush
Second is the Strawberry Jam Blush, that smells exactly like its name. Sadly, the strawberries are an overspray. PF is top of mind when I think of companies that still use an overspray. The bright red mixed with the punch of pink gives a bright pink cheek that is not as natural as the claims state. Once the strawberries wear off, you will be left with quite a pop of pink. This can be nice for summer. For a more natural cheek, the Physicians Formula Butter Buddies line has a lot to offer, as detailed in my review.
Claims: This blush smells like strawberry jam and provides a natural color. It should glide on seamlessly for all-day coverage.

Rating: 4 out of 5.Let’s Toast Highlighter
Third is the Let’s Toast Highlighter. This has an in-your-face perfumed scent. Unfortunately, the champagne glasses are an overspray. The highlight on the glasses is a much better tone for fair skin than the base color in the pan, but it is doable. This is a buildable highlighter, so you can control how subtle it is. But, it never gets blinding, as you can see with my Physicians Formula Bread and Butter swatches.
Claims: This highlighter has a soft and creamy texture that combines the features of a powder and a cream formula. It provides a lit from within glow for buttery soft, silky, all-day coverage.

Rating: 4 out of 5.Watermelon Sugar Lip Gloss
Last are the three Watermelon Sugar Lip Glosses. I gasped when I pulled the applicator out of the tube and found a brush instead of a doe foot! This packaging component has been used a million times over by Markwins, but never with a brush. I actually like the brush because it holds more product than a doe foot, and allows you to spread the color and to work with it better.
This lip gloss formula is thicker and heavier than what we are used to with PF. It also has a slight amount of stickiness, but nothing crazy. The sheer tint is nice, and the sweet watermelon scent and flavor is the bomb. If you are seeking that wet juicy lip look, you should try these. I would call them more of a lip glaze than a gloss, and I am docking stars for the formula.
Claims: This is a nourishing lip gloss with a burst of fruity watermelon flavor. It provides a high shine with a buttery soft feel and a sheer tint of color.

Conclusion
In summary of the Physicians Formula Bread and Butter collection, this is a take it or leave it. These products are not fully up to the quality standards that we typically see from the brand, plus they do not offer anything that unique outside of their normal, daily line. Of course, if you see something here that deserves a spot in your personal collection, then you should go for it! I know that I can put up with the feel of the lip glosses to enjoy a trendy, juicy pout. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
Are you buying anything from this collection, or is it a pass?
