It seems like everyone is talking about the TIRTIR Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation. I have a detailed non-sponsored review that gives you the truth about this foundation. With three wear test trials I have a lot to say before you buy.

Details & Claims

tirtir cushion

I will start with where to buy the TirTir cushion. As this is a K-beauty product, it is available from many online retailers such as YesStyle and the list goes on. It is the most easily accessible from Amazon and it does go on sale from time to time. However, it is not sold in any stores, which can make finding your color match tricky. If you are a TikTok user, there is a filter that allows you to try on the foundation.

This foundation comes in 30 shades, which is incredible for K-beauty. You get 0.63 fl oz of product for $25, which is slightly less than the standard foundation size of 1 fl oz. It is also availble in a mini size! The mini is an excellent way to save money and try out the formula, as well as to find your shade match, especially if TikTok is not for you. Of course, the mini is superb for travel.

This foundation claims to offer buildable coverage that conceals redness, blemsihes and under-eye bags. It should provide glassy or radiant skin with a lightweight finish. It also claims to wear up to 72 hours to avoid fading, cracking, creasing, or transfer. The puff should make for precise application and is easy to clean.

TIRTIR Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation review

The application instructions from the brand are rather vague. They state to apply the foundation with the included puff. Nothing more, nothing less, so I will go into more detail in my review to follow.

SUMMARY
The foundation is available through online retailers like YesStyle and Amazon, though not in physical stores, which can make shade matching difficult. It comes in 30 shades, a great variety for K-beauty, with 0.63 fl oz of product for $25, and a mini size option ideal for travel or testing. The foundation promises buildable coverage to conceal redness and blemishes, offering a glassy, lightweight finish with up to 72-hour wear. While the brand’s application instructions are minimal, the included puff helps with precise and easy application.

This foundation highlights the key ingredients of hibiscus and red propolis extracts which are known to improve skin’s elasticity and to promote radiance. Below is the full ingredient list:

Swatches & Shades

Next up I have swatches of the shade 17 C Porcelain. You can see a definite blurring effect with the blended swatch. Also, it shade matches my wrist well! Of course, you should always shade match your neck.

Review

In reading this review it is important to note that I have tested hundreds of prodcuts over the years including plenty of foundations and even cushion foundation. I went through three wear test trials to craft this review. I always test alongside products that I know and trust as a control group.

In my first trial I used a hydrating primer, basic setting spray, did not set with powder, and the included puff. I pressed their applicator into the cushion one time but found out that a little goes a long way! That single press was able to cover my entire face and neck, with the expection of my forehad.

It applies normally over your skincare and primer, and layers well with other makeup.

I followed-up by using a damp sponge to really press the foundation into the skin. I find that the foundation is full coverage in an instant with little opportunity or need to build up coverage. It blends easily and has a slight blur as it smooths over the skin.

The finish is fresh and dewy in a healthy way, but it applies with a thickness that you typically associate with a matte foundation. I say thickness in a positive way, as the formula is lightweight. Ultimately, it is skin-like and beautiful. No cake face in sight.

However, I experienced major user error in the first trial. I applied too much! All makeup should be applied with a light hand. At the end of this wear trial my upper lip and chin looked horribly heavy and patchy. My smile lines were worse than normal. Not much oil gets through but I attribute a lot of that to my skincare routine.

After learning how to properly apply this foundation, I went for trial two. I paired it with a long-wearing primer, basic setting spray, set with powder, and used their puff. Everything went well. It does not look as good set with powder, and that will change the finish. A lighter hand is the key to having normal wear and tear at end of the day but nothing notable.

My third trial is with long-lasting primer, basic setting spray, not set with powder, and applied with a damp sponge. This had the same results as the second trial. I have a list of five recommendations on primer for long lasting makeup.

The applicator does a fine job of buffing the foundation into the skin! I usually hate the applicators that brands supply, but this one is great. All of the product gets onto your face with nothing left on the puff. I do bounce back and forth between using the puff or a sponge depending on what I feel that day. The puff is truly easy to clean and is sized well to get into every crevise. I do have a review on the best drugstore blending sponges if you need help.

Pairing the nice applicator with the phenominal shade range and key ingredients makes it a standout from the competitors. Using the TIRTIR Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation over time can provide you with benefits such as increased elasticity.

Going back to the topic of proper application, if you are getting sucked into Reels and other influencer videos, you are probably not using the cusion correctly. You are to insert your index and middle finger into the band. Press the puff evenly onto the cusion. Then, press the puff onto the back of the lid to remove the excess. Now you can go in to buff the foundation into your skin.

If you are using a sponge you can press it directly into the cusion and again press it onto the back of the lid to remove excess product. If you apply too much of this foundation your look will go south in a hurry.

Here are some quantitative measurements that cover performance:

  • Lightweight Feel: 8/10
Provides a lightweight, barely-there there look that is comfortable.
  • Radiant Finish: 9/10
Delivers a radiant, luminous finish that enhances skin’s natural glow.
  • Precision Application: 9/10
The egg-shaped puff ensures precise coverage around hard-to-reach areas like the nose and eyes.
  • Ease of Cleaning Puff: 10/10
Puff cleans easily and remains soft for future use.

Now, many influencers are reviewing this foundation and making outrageous claims such as “it is the best foundation of the year.” This comes off totally disingenuine. Yes, this is a good foundation. It is long-lasting and beautiful. I am not sure if I am willing to say it is the best of the year, but I will keep using it. It is worth the price. You can trust it for a special event.

I also have a table of the details.

SUMMARY
This review emphasizes that a little product goes a long way, with full coverage in one swipe. The foundation applies easily, blending well with skincare and makeup, delivering a radiant yet thick, skin-like finish. Always use a light hand to avoid heaviness and patchiness. Much praise goes to the included puff for its precise application and easy cleaning. This is a strong product, long-lasting and beautiful, but not necessarily the best of the year.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find my TirTir foundation shade?

You can find your TirTir foundation shade by using their shade filter on TikTok. Another option is to purchase their mini size to find the right shade.

How long does the TirTir cushion last?

While the TirTir cushion is designed to last for 72 hours, no one in reality wears their makeup for that long. It is long-lasting and is dependable for a normal eight to 12 hours of wear.

Is TirTir foundation water or silicone based?

The TirTir foundation is silicone based, as the second ingredient is Cyclopentasiloxane. While the first ingredient is water, do not let that confuse you.

What Reddit Users Are Saying About The Foundation

Besides my own experience I am including additional research. Many Reddit users mention the need to apply this foundation lightly or else it will not look good.

“I found the trick to making it last long and not look cakey/separated at all is to spray some setting spray on the puff (makes a huge difference at the end of the day), dab the cushion very slightly in the sponge and pat and mix it all over the cushion lid.”

” I like it but you need a real light hand (even lighter than normal). I dab into the compact and dab on the underside of the lid then lightly apply. I also need fingers to blend around the nose.”

” I really enjoy it! I have oily skin and after trial and error on my shade.. I use it for daily use. I work in Vet Med and it does not budge even after running around with patients. You need a really really light hand though.”
