A makeup trend that refuses to die is lightweight, natural, healthy complexions over full coverage and heavy foundation, concealer, and powder. The drugstore scene has blessed us with two skin tint options that appear to be incredibly similar, right down to the pricing, packaging, and formula. In this blog post I am comparing and contrasting all aspects of Loreal Skin Tint vs. Maybelline Skin Tint so that you can determine which is right for you. Personally, both of them have stolen my heart and are must-have favorites. You might be surprised about how different they actually are!

Where To Buy Maybelline SuperStay Skin Tint vs. Loreal Hyaluronic Tinted Serum

I will start with where you can find these skin tints. Most retailers that carry the brands will have these serums in store. As per drugstore makeup, the prices can vary a lot. I see Maybelline normally ranging from $13.99 – $17.99, with Loreal going for $14.99 – $19.99. Below you can access links to online retailers who carry most, if not all of the shades.

Loreal Retailers

As we think about Maybelline Skin Tint vs. Loreal Skin Tint, both are packaged in glass bottles with dropper dispensers. Maybelline offers an 18 shade range, where as Loreal has 14. Both bottles contain one fluid ounce of product, which is the standard size of foundation. In this blog post, I am featuring the lightest shades of each product. For Maybelline, that is 102, and 0.5-2 for Loreal. You can see the shade differences in the swatches to come below. Also, I have a dedicated Loreal True Match Hyaluronic Tinted Serum review that has even more details as a companion to this blog post.

Loreal Skin Tint vs. Maybelline Skin Tint Claims, Benefits, Directions

Second, I will compare and contrast the Loreal Skin Tint vs. Maybelline Skin Tint claims, benefits, and usage directions. Maybelline claims to offer bright and buildable light-to-medium coverage, with a skin-like finish for a natural and radiant look. Loreal also makes the brightening, natural, and radiant finish claims, as supported with luminous pearl pigments that we do not see with Maybelline. Loreal should also hydrate the skin and even tone. While the Loreal claims stop there, Maybelline gones on to detail that their product should be weightless for up to 24 hours of wear, with a sweat, humidity, and fade-resistant formula. You can get even more details in my dedicated Maybelline SuperStay Skin Tint review.

The key ingredients differ a lot. Loreal’s is 1% hyaluronic acid, making this product suitable for those that suffer with dry skin. Hylauronic acid has the ability to draw in moisture from the air and lock it into your skin for lasting hydration. Even those with oily skin can benefit, as your skin may produce less oils when being hydrated by your skincare. Maybelline’s key ingredient is Vitamin C which is known to brighten dull skin. You may see that skincare benefit if you regularly use their product over time. This means it will not be slanted toward hydration, so, each skin tint serves a different skincare purpose. Either way, both products can be used for all skin types.

Maybelline SuperStay Skin Tint vs. Loreal Hyaluronic Tinted Serum

When it comes to the Loreal Hyaluronic Tinted Serum vs. Maybelline SuperStay Skin Tint directions, you will notice a lot of similarities. Both serums need to be shaken well before use. You may apply them with your fingers, a brush, or a sponge, and they can be layered to your desired level of coverage. These products should also layer well with your skincare and other makeup. You may wear them alone or as your actual makeup routine.

Maybelline Skin Tint vs. Loreal Skin Tint Review

Now it is time for my Maybelline SuperStay Skin Tint vs. Loreal Hyaluronic Tinted Serum which will break down the differences to help you decide on which product to buy. First and foremost, the formulas look, feel, and apply the same. They feel so weightless, as if they are a part of your skin. My preference is to use a sponge, however, I have used my fingers for a fast look and these serums can take it.

As noted with the key ingredients above, Maybelline is best for those that are concerned with dull skin, and Loreal for dry skin, in terms of the skincare benefit. I have combination skin, so Loreal does a better job of controlling oil production on me as compared to Maybelline. You may want to implement targeted powdering with the Maybelline if you have oily areas. Outside of that, both products provide a healty and natural radiant finish to the skin that looks ultra skin-like. These products do layer well with skincare and makeup. If you want to powder them, you will loose some of that radiance. Both formulas last and wear so well on their own, I actually prefer not to set them. They are excellent candidates for an all cream/liquid makeup look.

I like both of these tints for long-wear makeup days, even special occasions and events. Of course, since they have lighter coverage, they are great for those no-makeup makeup look days alike. I enjoy applying two thin layers of these tints. One coat gives you that more natural look, where as two is more glam. Loreal is buildable light to light medium coverage, where as Maybelline can be more light to medium.

Ultimately, I love both of these products and I use them all the time interchangeably. Both are living on my vanity at easy reach, and will be for the foreseeable future. I actually use Loreal the most, as a personal preference. I think it is just that much more flawless and beautiful on me, and I am breaking into my backup bottle.

Conclusion

In conclusion of this Loreal Skin Tint vs. Maybelline Skin Tint comparison exploration, the skin tint that you choose comes down to your needs and concerns. Maybelline has a hair more coverage over Loreal. Loreal has hyaluronic acid for moisturization, while Maybelline has Vitamin C for dull skin. I love using both of these in my normal routine, however, you might find a preference in one over the other. They are equally worth the cash in my humble opinion. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
