I will begin with where to buy the bronzer. Virtually all drugstores carry Loreal, which gives you a good chance to find this bronzer. The most notable retailers are Amazon, Ulta, Target, Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens.

The prices of drugstore makeup can vary a lot between retailers, but the average price is $15.99. You get 0.31 oz or 9 grams in eight shades. The compact features a mirror and a space for an applicator, but no applicator. The package itself is moderately bulky.

This bronzer claims to be lightweight, featuring a soft powder formula. The finish is matte, yet, it should provide an instant sun-kissed glow. The powder istself is waterproof, sweatproof, transfer-proof, and heatproof. It should not clog your pores. You can use it to add warmth, as well as to contour with buildable pigment.

Loreal goes on to say that the finish is natural with no caking, is not oily, is breathable, and dermatologist tested. They also claim that its good for all skin types, but, you may not prefer a matte formula with dry skin.

To apply, gently sweep the product onto your cheekbones, forehead, and chin with a brush.

Swatches & Shades

I obtained all six shades that I own by finding them on clearance or from discount retailers. This suggests that some of the shades may be discontinued, but that is ok! A sale is a great time to test a formula to see if it works for you, then you can go back and confidently spend your money on your ideal shade. Here is everything that I have with swatches below.

  • 200 Fair
  • 250 Light
  • 350 Medium

Review

As we go into this review, I can confidently state that I have tested hundreds of bronzers. My drawer is consistently overflowing, diminishing my ability to see all of the products. I am a major fan of the Loreal Infallible line. I love the blush and the liquid foundation, while the powder foundation is one of my all-time-favorites. You can read about it in my best beauty products 2021 roundup.

The first notable aspect is the shade range. Loreal has you covered with tones that go from light to deep. In fact, the lightest shade may be too light for you. With drugstore bronzers we typically see darker skin tones be forgotten. With this line it is easier to find your shade match while avoiding an orange or muddy look. If I had this many moons ago I would have added it to my list of the best bronzer for fair skin. I give it a full 10/10 on the range.

The formula of the bronzer is buttery smooth with a matte finish. If you are someone who is not into a shimmer bronzer, then you have a winner right here. Because of this, the powder is incredibly easy to blend, scoring a 9/10. It is finely milled enough to use with a large fluffy brush or a detailed contour brush. You should not encounter patchiness or streaking. The pigment is easy to build up and layer, so it is hard to overdo your look.

You can easily compare Loreal Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Bronzer to the competition, such as Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. While they have both have a smooth application, Loreal is the winner for buildable pigment and no shimmer.

As the name implies, this bronzer is made to last. I find that it wears for eight to 10 hours without fading, scoring an 8/10. To compare this to an OG high-end bronzer such as the original Benefit Hoola, you might get longer wear pushing to 12 hours. For the drugstore, this is impressive.

The texture is really interesting in how finely milled that it is, yet it is dense enough to prevent fallout or fading. In the long run this helps you to use less product and get more bang for your buck. It scores a 7/10 for being lightweight and comfortable.

What truly sets Loreal apart from the competition is the versatility of this bronzer. It has the powder to add warmth and glow without shimmer, but also avoids an overpowering final look. This is an easy choice to get bronzed without being too done up.

In terms of cons, you may not appreciate the matte formula if you have dry patches. Skin prep is always key, however, you may gravitate toward a cream formulation instead such as the elf Putty Bronzer.

Over the years Loreal has pushed other bronzers, but they failed to include deeper skin tones. They also offer a lot of shimmer options, which is not everyone’s cup of tea. The lasting power alone is notable over their past iterations.

The compact and mirror is very sturdy, but it is weird that they leave a space for an applicator that is not included. You would think that the mirror is to promote on-the-go touch ups. They can easily remove the bulk here. I bring this up if you own a lot of makeup like me, bulky packaging is not favorable. This affects ease of travel as well.

Ultimately, this product is best for those that want a long-lasting matte bronzer that is affordable. It is great for normal to oily skin. Below is a table of the key metrics.

SUMMARY
This is a standout product, especially for its broad shade range. The matte, buttery smooth formula is easy to blend and build without looking patchy, and it compares favorably to other brands. The bronzer lasts 8–10 hours, making it impressive for a drugstore product, though not quite as long-wearing as high-end options. The lightweight texture is notable, though the bulky packaging and lack of an included applicator are minor drawbacks. Ideal for those seeking an affordable, long-lasting matte bronzer, it is best suited for normal to oily skin types.
