I have a hard time finding a tinted serum foundation that looks good on my oily combination skin. I am putting the L’Oreal True Match Hyaluronic Tinted Serum to the test for you with a detailed review containing swatches and three different makeup looks.
Where To Buy
First, I will talk about where you can buy foundation. Essentially, most retailers that carry L’Oreal should have this item. They include Ulta, Target, Walmart, CVS, and Amazon. Depending on which retailer you choose, the price should range from about $14.99 to $19.99. It comes in 13 shades.
Claims & Directions
This serum claims to instantly brighten, to even skin tone, and to hydrate the skin. It will accomplish these tasks with the help of luminous pearl pigments for natural, radiant skin.

The ingredients have added skincare benefits! The key ingredient is 1% hyaluronic acid, which is know to pull moisture molecules out of the air and attract them to your skin, thus keeping you deeply hydrated all day long.
As far as application directions go, you should always start by shaking the bottle well. Then, you may apply it with any tool of your choice. This can be your fingers, a brush, a sponge, so on and so forth. You may layer this serum with makeup or other skincare products, besides wearing it on its own.
Review
My skintype is combination, and I get oily in the t-zone, mostly on my forehead and nose. I will share my favorite ways to use this product. When a product is nearly $20, I know that you want to be certain of it before you drop the cash.
My favorite thing about this serum is how fresh and healthy it looks on the skin! This product always looks skin-like, and even plumping, no matter how much you layer it, or what you wear it with. It is incredibly lightweight and smooth. Finally, a tinted item that looks amazing on my skin with no fuss!
With this serum you get sheer light coverage that is buildable to low medium. Keep in mind that makeup sponges absorb some product, which can affect how much coverage you get. If you are looking for more, a brush or your fingers is a good route to take.

Much like the claims state, this product is hydrating and layers well with everything, and can also be worn by itself! I can use this product for daily or even special occasion/glam makeup just as easily as I can for a light, no-makeup-makeup look. If I am going for glam, I do two layers, which is two full dispenses of the dropper. I apply one full dispenser, then go in with a second for my second layer.
Because of the hydrating properties and ingredients like hyaluronic acid, this serum prevents my skin from producing oils, so I do not get oily or shiny during the day. The shine or glow that I do have is from the finish of the serum. It never makes me look greasy, nor does it fall apart or separate on any area.
For a no-makeup-makeup look, I apply only one full dispenser. I also enjoy not powdering this product for light makeup days, yet it looks beautiful all day long! This also plays well with cream and liquid makeup. This serum definitely deserves to be in my skinimalism makeup routine!
Ultimately, this foundation serum wears spectacularly on oily skin all day, no matter how you choose to apply and to layer it. I can see the difference in my pictures against other foundations that I wear. When a product looks like skin, is never heavy or cakey, it is a win from me. You have to try this! While the shades come in at 13, they can get away with that due to the sheer tint formula. However, I still wish to see more shades in the future.
Be sure to not miss me comparing this serum in my Loreal Skin Tint vs. Maybelline showdown! Loreal is not the only tint on the block that is rockin’ the drugstore.
Below I have four pictures of me wearing this serum that I found in my camera roll. Two feature my no-makeup-makeup look, while the other two feature my normal glam.

This is one of the all time best foundations I’ve tried. Especially light tinted ones. My glossier skin tint is nice and blurring, and the Sunday fridays gives a very nice natural satin but is is much more sheer. This is a hybrid of foundation. It does something to fill in the pores and wears all day. It gets thicker as the bottle ages and becomes more pore fillings too.
Which shade did you purchase this in ? 🙂
