The year 2022 is starting off how us makeup junkies like it, with a new limited edition collection from wet n wild! You may recall last year that they gave us a Valentine’s Day collection, but hardly any effort was put into it. They simply repackaged some everyday top sellers into festive packaging. New for Valentine’s Day this time around is the wet n wild Bloomin’ Collection. It features all-new shades of products that they have given us many times. The products have a cherry blossom theme, even with some scents to match! Really, this is their limited time spring collection. I am reviewing and swatching each item, plus I have a full face of wet n wild makeup look at the end using as many of these items as possible.

These products are still being released, so I do not have many links, nor are there published claims. I recommend that you subscribe to the email list and/or give a follow on social media, as I will alert you as I update this page.

Where to Buy the wet n wild Bloomin’ Valentines Day Collection

I am going to start out with where you can buy the wet n wild Blooming Collection 2022. The products have been released in Five Below stores (not online), and according to wet n wild, they will be available at Walmart and CVS soon. It is still unknown if these items will ever be available online, but I will update as we learn more.

Bloomin’ Blush in Flower Power

The first item from the wet n wild Bloomin’ Collection is the Bloomin’ Blush in Flower Power. It is a beautiful mauve shade that you can enjoy on a daily basis. Flower Power contains a small amount of shimmer which is just enough to give you a healthy glow. This is definitely the good version of their coloricon blush, featuring a buildable formula that allows you to control the pigmentation.

Bloomin’ Face Mist in Miss Cherry Blossom

Second in the wet n wild Bloomin’ Valentines Day collection is the Bloomin’ Face Mist in Miss Cherry Blossom. As we have seen on repeat from the brand, this is another setting spray that you have to shake well before each use, as the shimmer settles. My review on these setting sprays is always the same. They do have a fine mist and set your makeup perfectly fine, but they will not extend the wear time of your makeup. Maybe it is just me, but I never see the shimmer giving me much of a dewy glow. Miss Cherry Blossom is scented, but nothing overbearing, and it does not last once dry.

Bloomin’ Pigment Palette in Garden Party

Third from the wet n wild Spring Bloom Collection is the Bloomin’ Pigment Palette in Garden Party. The brand has brought us this type of pigment palette several times in the past, starting with Fantasy Makers Festival collections, and on from there. Personally, I would like to see them give us something new, as these palettes are always on the cheaper side.

Unfortunately, this palette is not good. As you can see from the wet n wild Bloomin’ swatches, they lack pigmentation. I had to press so hard to make the swatches work. Shade one is too similar to my skin tone to swatch properly, though. Due to the lack of pigment, there is hardly any color variation on the eye. The formula of shade three is terrible! When you rub a brush or your finger in it, you can feel how dry and textured it is, making it nearly impossible to apply. It really reminds me of the poorly formulated shades from the Crystal Cavern palettes. These pigments also create a lot of kick up in the pan. I am so over the pressed Vaseline-like glitters as well. I recommend passing on this one.

Bloomin’ Plumping Lip Gloss

Fourth are two shades of Bloomin’ Plumping Lip Glosses. I have not known wet n wild to do plumping glosses, and I knew it as soon as I opened the tubes. Plumpers always have a specific scent, if you know you know. Now, if you are familiar with their lip gloss formula, it is the same here. You get all the glossy shine without the sticky or heavy feeling. Both of these are incredibly sheer, with Baby Bloomer being more milky, and Bloom Time serving as a clear glitter. You can wear these on their own or layered over another lip product. As far as plumping is concerned, you will feel a slight tingle, but no pain or discomfort. I did not see a noticeable change with my lips. I always mention, although it should be expected, that lip gloss wears off easily and will need to be reapplied as desired.

Bloomin’ Makeup Sponge

Fifth in the wet n wild Bloomin’ Collection is the Bloomin’ Makeup Sponge. By now you should know that their sponges are amazing and work well! They expand when wet and are super soft and bouncy. This limited edition sponge features a cherry blossom pattern.

Bloomin’ Lip Treatment in Sugar Pink Blossom

The last item is the Bloomin’ Lip Treatment in Sugar Pink Blossom. wet n wild has provided us with several lip treatments in other collections, and this is the same. If you like those, then you will like this one. Sugar Pink Blossom does have a mild, sugary cherry scent and flavor, plus it is packed with shimmer. The red pink pigment is incredibly sheer. To make it show up in a swatch I had to dig a chunk of product out, which is far more than you will apply to the lips. I do find that their formula makes for a nice lip balm and it totally saved me about two years ago when my lips got dry and painful.

wet n wild Bloomin’ Limited Edition Collection Look

I am ending this wet n wild Bloomin’ Collection with a makeup look. Believe it or not, but the pressed glitter is the star and saving grace of the poorly pigmented, monochromatic eye look! Here are the products I am using:

To recreate the eye look, start by applying shade two to the crease, and bring it down below the eye. Next, apply shade one to the eyelid, and also across the lower lash line. Apply more of shade two more so on the outer-v. Then, layer shade three onto the eyelid. Next, apply shade four to the center of the eyelid. Finish the look by highlighting the brow bone and inner corner with shade one.

Conclusion

In conclusion of the wet n wild Bloomin’ Collection, it is refreshing to get new products instead of repackaged best sellers this year. Although, I find this collection to be lackluster and not solid. We have seen these products so many times, and even though the shades are new, I want to see wet n wild get creative. Also, this collection has a cheap vibe, especially with the pigment palette. We all know that the brand can do better! Perhaps we are getting too spoiled with their big brand collaborations. Ultimately, this is not a collection that you need. If there is something that catches your eye then so be it, otherwise you should save your money. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
