wet n wild Crystal Cavern Collection

It is my pleasure to present to you the entire wet n wild Crystal Cavern Collection! This is wet n wild’s limited edition summer 2019 collection. With this set we focus on four types of crystals- rose quartz, clear quartz, jade, and amethyst. These crystals are known for bringing you energy, balance, healing, prosperity, love, and power. The idea is that these properties will be incorporated into your beauty routine to help you discover your best self. Crystal Cavern is perfect for summer because the products are on the lighter side in terms of hue and coverage. Sometimes in the summer we do not want to wear heavy, uncomfortable makeup. All of the products have some sort of glitter or shimmer. I have reviews and swatches of everything, so just keep reading!

wet n wild Crystal Cavern megaglo Face Mist in Aura Booster

The first product in the wet n wild Crystal Cavern Collection is the megaglo Face Mist. As the bottle does not say anything about this product, I really do not know what it claims to do or how to use it. I believe it may be a dewy setting spray, hence the name Aura Booster. It is possible that it can also be used as a primer mist.

Next I have perfumes from wet n wild, which is completely new for them! I cannot think of any other drugstore makeup brand that makes perfumes, which leads my mind to prestige brands that you find in Sephora. Each perfume comes in a class bottle with a metal roller ball. Sometimes with roller balls I feel as though I am not getting much product out, but these perfumes dispense well! I like that each perfume has crystals in the bottle. While I am not good at describing perfumes, I will try my best. Balance is floral and botanical, Healing is a sweet vanilla/cocoa butter, Love is floral and feminine, and Prosperity is earthy and botanical. Of course, you can read about the notes for better descriptions on wet n wild’s website, but here they are:

wet n wild Crystal Cavern megaglo Lip Glosses

Third I have some new shades of megaglo Lip Glosses. The formula is the same from any other wet n wild lip gloss. Clear Quartz and Jade are clear shades that can be worn on their own or on top of another lip color. Rose Quartz and Amethyst have enough pigment to where they can be worn on their own. Each shade is packed with plenty of glitters and shimmers.

wet n wild Crystal Cavern megaglo Brightening Rocks in Infinity Stones

Fourth I have another new concept product for wet n wild- Brightening Rocks. In the jar you get four rocks in each of the Crystal Cavern colors, which are pink, purple, green, and white. These rocks can be built up on the face to provide a natural highlight all the way up to blinding. With my long nails it is hard to get a decent swatch, but I am sure these rocks work better with a brush. The rocks remind me of the Personal Best Exfoliating Cleansing Balls from the Pump Collection.

wet n wild Crystal Cavern megaglo Highlighter in Crystal High

Next up I have a cream highlighter, which is yet again another new concept for wet n wild. Others are comparing Crystal High to Colourpop’s Super Shock highlighter formula. wet n wild’s formula is ultra creamy and packs a high shine punch. I want to say this highlighter is cream to powder, but it never fully dries down and can transfer. The shade of Crystal High is right up my alley. I am not afraid to try applying it with a brush over skin set with powder.

wet n wild Crystal Cavern megaglo Eyeshadow Trios

I am ending the wet n wild Crystal Cavern collection with four megaglo Eyeshadow Trios. All of the eyeshadows are either shimmers or glitters, with no mattes. Overall, they swatch ok, but they are nothing to write home about. I find that wet n wild’s limited edition eyeshadows sometimes do not work as well as the eyeshadows in their permanent line. These eyeshadows are best used for light or natural makeup looks, which is what I think this entire collection is truly about. A few shades seem to have a different formula and are tricky to swatch.

While walking through Walmart I am finding three additional skincare items that are a part of the Crystal Cavern collection. In doing my research, these items are not available for sale on wet n wild’s website.These products must be Walmart exclusives. wet n wild has never mentioned or advertised these products. You will notice that these skincare items are very familiar from the Rebel Rose collection! My first thought here is what will these items smell like if the Rebel Rose collection smells like roses only? Also, the Rebel Rose collection uses the brand “photofocus” for these items, while the Crystal Cavern collection uses the “megaglo” brand. Check out my finds below. Everything comes in a glass bottle.

wet n wild megaglo Facial Toner

First I have the megaglo Facial Toner. It is a toner water contained in a glass spray bottle. This toner water can be applied morning and evening, and it should be applied before all other skincare products. While there are no claims to be found, I assume the Rebel Rose claims hold true here of hydrating, soothing, refreshing, softening, clarifying, and nourishing to leave a healthy glow. The spray has a zesty or herbal scent that seems to combine all of the Crystal Cavern scents. It is a clear blue liquid.

Second is the megaglo Primer Serum. It is a shimmery, translucent-blue serum that is contained in a glass bottle and applied with a dropper. The water-based formula glides onto the skin and dries down to be a dewy primer. It does leave the skin feeling primed and ready for makeup, and it is even a bit cooling. Again, with no claims here I assume the Rebel Rose claims hold true in that it will extend the wear time of your makeup, moisturize, and smooth the skin. It also has a blended smell of lemon and lavender.

Finally I have the megaglo Multi-Use Oil. All of the stones from the Crystal Cavern collection are suspended in the oil, just like the perfume rollers. The oil is in a dropper bottle and has the same herbal or zesty scent as the toner water. I am again assuming that the Rebel Rose claims and instructions are the same for this oil. Here they are again if you have forgotten:

• Face and body: Apply two to three drops into your hands and press into the skin both in the morning and night
• Nails: Drop directly onto the nail bed and massage into your cuticles
• Hair: Apply two to three drops into your hands and work into the hair, starting from the ends and working up the shaft

In summary of the wet n wild Crystal Cavern collection, there are definitely products worth trying in this set. While you may not purchase everything, I think there is something for everyone to pick and choose from. This collection features a lot of products that wet n wild has never attempted before, like the perfumes and cream highlighter.
