When you have an oily t-zone like me, you tend to shy away from dewy makeup products, and I totally understand that! But, I still believe that glowing makeup has its time and place when it is done right, and with excellent products. Despite my skin type, I am being daring and doing an elf+ Glow Collection review to see if these products work and how they interact with combination skin. This review includes star ratings and my thoughts after a wear test. Let’s get started!

elf+ Glow Collection Review

You may recall when this collection was first released it also featured a handful of highlighters with a unique cream to powder formula. elf has discontinued and removed them from their website. I am omitting them from this review as I prefer to not feature discontinued products.

elf+ Glow Radiant Moisturizer SPF 15

The first product in this elf+ Glow Collection review is the Radiant Moisturizer. You can enjoy this moisturizer both under makeup and on its own. It never interferes with my makeup products and layers well. This moisturizer contains SPF 15 and it provides a natural, healthy glow to the skin immediately, which I really love on no makeup days. It smells like coconut, and not in a chemically produced way. You will not be able to see any glitter or shimmer on the skin. For a rating, I will dock it one star because it does not help control my oils, nor does it make them worse. On one hand, I cannot be that mad because it has a cream formula, and I find that only gel formulas control my oils. It does moisturize the skin all day.

elf+ Glow Dewy Mist

Second is the Glow Dewy Mist. This spray absolutely can transform the most matte makeup look into something dewy and fresh. I tend to reach for this when I am using a particular foundation sample that looks dry like the desert on me, even with my oily t-zone. The glow will last all day long, just bear in mind that dewy makeup is not as long lasting as matte. My foundation does end up feeling tacky after using this spray. I recommend being gentle with this spray if you have combo skin to avoid making yourself look overly oily. Overall, I do believe that it works and does what elf claims. elf does not claim that it makes your makeup last longer, and it does not. But, it will leave your skin dewy, and you can also use it for a refresh during the day. Be sure to shake this product well!

elf+ Glow Primer Stick

The final product in this elf+ Glow Collection review is the Primer Stick. It applies by gliding right over the skin easily and gives a cool and wet sensation. My skin is visibly glowing, but I cannot see any glitter on the skin. It dries down to be mildly tacky. All makeup applies normally over top of the primer with no areas of clinging or patchiness. Once all other products are applied, I can no longer see the glow. At the end of a full day of wear I can see cracking and separation around my nose, as well as some cracking near the right jaw. I can see some oil immediately around the nose, but none elsewhere. Luckily, it does not make my combination skin worse.

Conclusion

In summary of this elf+ Glow Collection review, these products absolutely meet their claims. You will achieve a glowing, dewy makeup look with the aid of this collection, and they can even correct foundations and powders that make your skin look unpleasantly dry. Even with my combination skin, I can appreciate these products, but I would be mindful in how I use them. For me, I will not use all three together, and I will be sure to not go heavy handed with the spray. This way, I will not look exceptionally oily. If you have dry skin, you will really enjoy this collection, and you will not need to be careful in application. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.

    1. I’m curious to hear your thoughts if you do give this collection a try. This collection is no joke when you use all 3 products together!
