I am asking on Instagram Stories if you all want me to review the elf x JKissa collection, and the answer is a resounding yes! My hesitation in reviewing comes from these items selling out quickly- I do not like to review things that you cannot purchase. At the time of writing this post, between elf’s website and Ulta’s website, you can still purchase everything, but make sure you run and do not walk if you want something! I am still providing affiliate links for you to shop regardless of each product’s status. As usual, I am swatching and reviewing everything! I also have a full-face of elf makeup look where I use this entire collection. Time to begin!
elf x JKissa Collection
Packaging
Before I really dive into the elf x JKissa collection three piece set, I want to take a moment and admire the fun packaging. Everything matches JKissa’s style with the inviting dog illustrations and tattoo-like feel. This collection is packed with rainbow color! Even if you are new to color or somewhat hesitant, you can make this collection work for you.
Also, this is not JKissa’s first elf collaboration. Their first one was in 2019, and it sold out quickly! JKissa is a popular beauty influencer on Youtube. While I do not personally watch her (no particular reason, but you just cannot watch them all!), I really admire her style that is evident all over this collection.
Tsuki to My Heart Eyeshadow Topper Duo
I am starting the elf x JKissa collection review with the Tsuki to My Heart Eyeshadow Topper Duo. The packaging includes two shades in a double-ended design. I’m Pupset is described as a metallic green shade, but, to me, it has a lot of gold in it. You can build this shade up to your desired intensity, but be mindful that it is not fully opaque. What a Pitty Smile is a clear shade that is packed with iridescent glitter. You can layer either of these shades over eyeshadow, or wear them alone. They fully dry down and do not crease, fade, budge, or smudge all day! I find the size and shape of the doe-foot applicator to be really easy to work with.

Furever Brushes
Second is the Furever Brushes set. These elf brushes are the same quality as any other elf brush, and you should know based upon my huge makeup brush collection that I am a major fan! All of these brushes are unique to the elf brush line. I can identify a few similar brushes in my collection, but ultimately these are brand new. The rainbow chrome handles look great on your vanity, and make a perfect gift for a collector like me. Below I am listing out each brush and its purpose. The brushes are laid out in the picture from top to bottom.
- J1: Pack color onto the eyelid
- J2: Crease or all over eyelid
- J3: Crease, blend out concealer, or highlight the face
- J4: Lower lash line, inner corner
- J5: Winged eyeliner or brows
- J6: Smudge eyeliner, detail concealer around the lips, or packing eyeshadow close to the lash line

To the Rescue Eyeshadow Palette
The final item in the elf x JKissa collection is probably the most coveted- the To the Rescue Eyeshadow Palette. Each shade is named after a rescue dog, which is such a unique idea! The lid of the palette is a blank slate and includes stickers so that you can customize your palette, which is again a novel idea.
My initial reaction to this palette is ‘not another rainbow palette.’ elf already has one in their everyday collection, and I have many myself. JKissa considers this palette to be her idea of the perfect rainbow palette. Upon closer inspection, this palette is different from others on the market. I enjoy how the vertical columns feature the same shade done differently. The shimmers swatch beautifully, and Tsuki and Firefly are new colors to my personal collection.
Overall, this palette swatches pretty good for the drugstore! The swatches worry me that some of the mattes will be chalky or hard to work with on the eye, but I find this palette easy to work with and highly pigmented when applied to the eye. I have no issues with fallout or kick-up in the pan.

Full Face of elf Look
I am ending my review of the elf x JKissa collection with a full-face of elf makeup look, where I use all of the products from this collection, including the brushes. A note here- I do not have any elf mascara in my collection as I find them to be terrible. So, I am cheating on the full-face by using Loreal’s Voluminous Primer and Maybelline’s The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara.
For the eyeshadow look, I need something to set my eyeshadow primer, but there is no appropriate shade in the To the Rescue Eyeshadow Palette. I am turning to my handy Best Friend Eyeshadow Duo in Tea for Two and using the matte shade. Next, I am beginning a halo eye by applying Cannoli to the outer corner and inner corner of the eye, including in the crease. Then, I take Sadie and blend it closer to the middle of my eyelid, and blending it right into Cannoli. Sadie also goes into my crease. Be sure to leave a blank area in the middle of the eyelid. Using the product that is left on my brush, I connect Sadie across the crease to bridge the gap. I am applying the eyeshadow topper in What a Pitty Smile in the center. I apply two coats, letting each coat dry in between applications. Finally, I blend Sadie along the lower lash line, staying close to the lashes. Then, I blend Cannoli below Sadie, all the way down to where my lower lashes end. Finish the look by highlighting the inner corner and brow bone with the highlighter palette mentioned blow.

Conclusion
In summary of the elf xJKissa collection, you will note that I am giving all of the products five out of five stars! Everything is of the quality you expect and deserve from elf. You can tell that much thought has been put into this collection to create a cohesive theme from the packaging, to the hues, and the shade names. If you get creative, you can definitely create endless looks with this collection. JKissa is helping us to not be afraid of color! You can go as tame or as wild as you want with these products. This is, for sure, a collection to purchase if anything appeals to you. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.

I saw the palette on Trendmood the other day and it looked very interesting, I’ll have to pick it up!
I’m not sure how often I will get around to using it, but it’s great for elf/the drugstore.
The palette looks so good and the colours are pretty and vibrant!

Yes, it is! I don’t work with rainbow colors very much, but maybe I should start.
That’s a bright palette! It’s not really a palette I would go for but I do think it looks cool. The swatches don’t look bad, I expected it to be less pigmented to be honest so that’s a positive surprise!

Sometimes you don’t know what quality you will get with elf, and I’m glad to see they put some time into this one! I probably won’t use it a lot, as I don’t gravitate to rainbow hues, but that’s not a knock on the quality.
