I legitimately have no idea what to keep in a skincare fridge, and I do not want to ruin anything. What I am doing is researching the topic and presenting the facts in one succinct place for you. Together, we will learn the right and wrong products to keep in the fridge, and then we can shop fridges.
Benefits of a Skincare Fridge
You are probably wondering why people go through all the hassle in the first place. Do you really need one of these things? The short answer is no. When you buy your skincare products, they come at room temperature. That indicates that you do not need to store them in the fridge as they are designed to last in a normal cool and dry room temperature. The benefits of a skincare fridge are that the coolness of the products feels good on your skin, you will be giving yourself a spa-like experience, the coolness helps your eye products work better, and certain ingredients may last longer.
My skincare fridge is a Walmart special in-store buy. I have the Personal Chiller LED Lighted Mini Fridge. In the picture I have left the protective film over the mirror/light front panel to not blind you with the shine. The touch-sensitive button is super simple to use, and the fridge features a removable shelf and small shelf on the door. You can use any mini fridge as your skincare fridge, or use it for food and drinks. Heck, you can even keep your skincare in your actual fridge if you want to!

The first natural step to take is to fill it up. But, what is safe to keep in the fridge? I did the research for my own fridge, and now I am sharing it with you. The internet is polluted with articles on this subject, and I am bringing all the knowledge into one place here and now.
- Sheet masks

- The coolness will speed up the de-puffing effects!

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you keep serums in the fridge?
Yes, you can keep serums in the fridge, but you want to keep an eye on it. If the formula starts to change, remove it from the fridge and only keep it at room temperature. Fridges are great for preserving hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C, and retinol, so if any of your serums are based on those ingredients, you may want to give them a trial in your fridge.
Can you put niacinamide in the fridge?
Yes, you can put niacinamide in the fridge as the cool temperature will help preserve the ingredient.
Can you put toner in the fridge?
Yes, you can put toner in the fridge. It will feel so nice on your skin and act as an instant pick-me-up.
Can you keep moisturizer in the fridge?
You can only store gel moisturizers in the fridge. Cream formulas may separate.
When it comes to skincare tools, I will not keep anything that is battery operated or electrically operated in the fridge. I would worry that natural moisture and condensation will ruin those products. The fridge is great for your facial rollers, gua sha tools, and battery operated tools where you can remove the heads.
What Not to Put in a Skincare Fridge
Believe it or not, the fridge is not a good place for oils. It can cause your oils to change texture.
As discussed already, gel moisturizers are ok, but cream formulas are not. The fridge can cause the cream to separate. You can give it a try with your cream moisturizer, but keep an eye on it and remove it from the fridge if it gets weird.
Clay masks are an absolute no for your skincare fridge. The cold temperature will harden the formula and make it impossible to use. On that same token, peel-off masks will act similarly.

Shop Fridges
Skincare fridges are working their way into self care routines at a lightning pace, and I believe they are worth trying out at least once before you throw the concept away. Do you use a skincare fridge, why or why not? Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
