Becca Cosmetics had a popular brightening eye corrector, which was taken over by Smashbox when the brand went under. It appears that elf Cosmetics is trying to dupe the product with the elf Putty Color Correcting Eye Brightener. I am very familiar with the Becca product, as I used an entire pot up. Here I am reviewing and swatching all the shades to see if elf is giving us a quality product.
Where To Buy elf Under Eye Brightener
Let’s begin with where you can find the elf under eye brightener. As is the case with many of their new products, the availability is not yet broad. I bought mine in-store at Walmart, and they are also available on elf’s website. There are six shades that come in 0.14 oz pots for $6 each.
elf Eye Brightener Claims, Directions
Next are the elf eye brightener claims and directions. Each shade is peach-based to help reduce the appearance of dark circles for the under eyes. They contain illuminating pearls to brighten for a fresh look. The putty formula should provide medium coverage and effortless blending. It primes and smooths the skin to extend the wear of your makeup/concealer. The key ingredients are squalane, hyaluronic acid, and ginseng root extra. Additionally, all elf products are free from phthalates, parabens, nonylphenol ethoxylates, triclosan, triclocarban, and hydroquinone, as well as being Vegan and Cruelty Free.

elf Putty Color Correcting Eye Brightener Review
Last is my elf Putty Color Correcting Eye Brightener review. I use shade Fair, and I find it to an effective way to correct my natural under eye darkness, plus adding brightness by reflecting light. I do recommend wearing this under your makeup (foundation and concealer), as the color of the product will be obvious on your skin. In my elf under eye concealers review, I cover their entire line of suitable products to layer over this corrector.
This corrector does have that elf typical putty feel, and it dries with a tacky finish. Makeup applies and wears normally over top, plus it does not add any creasing. So, do not let that tacky finish bother you. The best way to apply it is by using a concealer brush, then blending it out with a sponge. Using a brush is more sanitary than sticking your fingers in the pot, but, it will leave the product looking patchy or streaky. Thus, a blending sponge is needed for that perfect, skin-like finish. To compare with Becca/Smashbox, their product blends just fine with a brush. Other than that one difference, this product is a great dupe. I will use it all the time!
If you are more into color correcting concealers for use all over the face, I do have an elf Camo Color Corrector review. Their peach shade is great for my under eyes too, but you will not get that luminous and makeup gripping effect.

Conclusion
In summary of the elf Putty Color Correcting Eye Brightener, they have done a good job of providing a dupe for a popular, expensive color corrector. If you struggle with under eye darkness, I do recommend this affordable option. This will not add much time or strain to your makeup routine. I do not recommend wearing it without makeup. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
