The elf Luminous Putty Blush line promises to give us glowing cheeks with the same quality that you know and love from the matte version. I have all of the luminous shades and I am putting them to the test for you with swatches, a review, and more.
Where To Buy
I am starting with where you can buy these cream blushes. For access to the full range of six shades, you must shop elf, Ulta, and Amazon. Target carries 4 shades, while Walmart has 3. These retail for $7 each. You can find the shade names on the sticker that goes around the pot.
Claims & Directions
They are supposed to be highly pigmented, yet creamy to melt into your skin with a formula that is lightweight and buildable. They should dry down to a powder finish.
You are to use a brush, your fingers, or a sponge by gently patting the blush over your cheeks until it is blended. Since these are a cream, you should not layer them over powder. You may build them up to your desired intensity.
My favorite tools to apply these blushes with primarily come from elf. I like their Putty Blush Brush, Small Stipple Brush, and Putty Bronzer Brush. As the directions state, a sponge or your fingers is perfectly fine too! The blushes make an excellent compliment to their bronzers, which I detail in my elf Putty Bronzer review.
Swatches
You can clearly see with the swatches that the colors apply soft and diffused! The shade names definitely have a vacation vibe. How fun!

Review
If you have already read my elf Putty Blush review of the original matte formulation, then you will understand that elf is striving to make this new lineup just as good as those, and the review is really the same.
To begin, these blushes meet their claims. The formula is lightweight, velvety, and smooth to become skin-like on application.
I love that they dry down from a cream to a powder finish, and they are perfectly buildable so that you can control the intensity. You should not feel overwhelmed by the vibrancy of the product in the pot. The luminous aspect is not achieved with glitter, rather, these have a metallic sheen that look fresh and healthy on the skin.
They last all day without fading. As with all creams, I do recommend not applying them over powder. Otherwise, they do not lift up coverage underneath. I give these five out of five stars for ease of use, quality, and price point!
