The theme of this Play! by Sephora March 2020 review is Wild Beauty. Sephora claims no matter what your interests are, you will be able to run free with these “must-haves.” Now, I must admit that the previous handful of boxes are leaning very heavily towards repeats, even with samples that I got only a few boxes ago. I am not sure if they are getting lazy or what the deal is, but I am starting to get less excited with these unboxings. Per usual, I will cross my fingers that this will be the box to change my mind. Time to begin.

Tarte Sea Quench Hydrating Primer

The first product in this Play! by Sephora March 2020 review is Tarte’s Sea Quench Hydrating Primer. It claims to keep your makeup in place all day while providing hydration and pollution protection. The directions state to apply a pea-size amount on clean, dry skin. It has a fresh, clean scent with a translucent blue gel that is rather runny. This product absorbs immediately into the skin with no greasy residue. It really reminds me of a moisturizer rather than a primer.

Versace Bright Crystal

Second is Versace’s Bright Crystal. This is definitely a repeat. This is a floral fragrance with notes of yuzu, musk, and pomegranate.

Drybar Detox Clear Invisible Dry Shampoo

Third is Drybar’s Detox Clear Invisible Dry Shampoo. It claims to have no residue, which is a huge claim that I hope is true! Nearly all dry shampoos leave a white cast in my hair, and some are worse than others. Hopefully, Drybar can deliver. The directions state to shake the product well, then spray it four to six inches from your hair. Interestingly, they say to allow the product to dry before you rub it into your hair and brush it through. This is the first dry shampoo that says let it dry, and I have tested plenty of dry shampoos. It smells like other Drybar products.

Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer

Fourth in is Drunk Elephant’s Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer. This is also a repeat, but one that I am tremendously happy for because I love it! This whipped formula is lightweight and melts right into the skin. Maybe I am imagining things, but I swear that it looks great under makeup by causing my makeup to look smoother. It also hydrates the skin all day. I highly recommend it! The only thing that holds me back is the price tag, but I know it is worth it. The product is a white cream with no distinguishable scent. You are to apply a quarter-size amount onto clean, dry skin anytime.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black

Fifth is Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black. This is a felt tip eyeliner with a matte black formula. You are to shake the product well before using it, and it claims to not skip and last all day. The size of the applicator, as well as the swatch, really reminds me of Maybelline’s Master Precise All Day Liquid Liner. I can easily control that liner to get thick or thin lines, so I presume this one will follow suit. I am interested to see if Maybelline’s is a dupe!

Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow

The final product in this Play! by Sephora March 2020 review Glamglow’s Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. Sephora has sent this many times, including recently. I have not even used the last tube! It provides a glow because you can see actual shimmer in the liquid product. The formula is nude in color and smells like dessert. It claims to hydrate and moisturize. You are to smooth a pea-size amount onto dry skin before makeup application.

Conclusion

In summary, this Play! by Sephora March 2020 review is about half repeats and half new samples to try. I always gripe on and on about the repeats, but, Sephora has a huge catalog of products. They should be able to send new stuff frequently, as I am paying to test new items. I am super curious about the Tarte primer that does not feel like a primer, and trying the Drunk Elephant moisturizer again is a total score. So far for 2020 I am feeling underwhelmed with this subscription. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
