As someone who is in the beauty space, many products work their way into my hands. I try my best to use products up and to get my money’s worth. Often, I talk about products when they arrive to me, but I never revisit them to share my thoughts once they are used up. Here in my product empties spring 2019 post I am starting my empties series. I am categorizing all of the products and I am sharing my reviews, thoughts, and application tips on everything. I will also state if I will repurchase the product or not. All of these empties have been curated from January 1, 2019 until March 31, 2019. Out of 90 days, I have 83 empties! That is nearly one product per day! Please note that some of these products I have been working on for a while, even well back into 2018. Let’s get started.
Skincare
Skin Laundry Hydrating Cream Face Wash
The first item in my product empties spring 2019 post is Skin Laundry’s Hydrating Cream Face Wash. It does the job in cleansing your face with it’s creamy formula. The reason I will not repurchase it is because it does nothing for my acne. If you are looking for a basic face wash, this is a good one to try.
Biore Charcoal Cleansing Micellar Water
Second, I have Biore’s Charcoal Cleansing Micellar Water. It removes makeup just as well as any micellar water, and it does not irritate my eyes. The added touch of charcoal leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. I will not repurchase it simply because it is not a game changer, in comparison to how my other micellar waters perform.
Belif Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask
Third I have Belif’s Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask. The formula quickly absorbs into your skin without any messy residue. It does a good job of deeply hydrating the skin, which I enjoy. It smells fresh and clean like other Belif products. While it does not blow me away enough to repurchase, you may enjoy it for dry skin issues.
Fresh Rose Face Mask
Fourth I have Fresh’s Rose Face Mask. It does not provide any noticeable benefits to my skin, and I will not repurchase it.
No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum
Fifth in my product empties spring 2019 post is two tubes of No 7’s Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum. The formulation is thick enough that serum is not the right word, but it absorbs quickly into the skin with no residue, and it makes my skin soft and smooth. While I like those properties, I do not notice any other benefits, so I will not repurchase it.
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream
Sixth I have Drunk Elephant’s Lala Retro Whipped Cream. This moisturizer looks beautiful under your makeup, and for that reason alone I will consider repurchasing it! It easily blends into your skin, but I wish that it leaves a moisturized to the touch feeling behind.
Sky Organics Rose Water Facial Mist
Next is Sky Organic’s Rose Water Facial Mist. It is a toner water, and I enjoy the convenience of a spray-on version. The rose scent is not overpowering, but I do not notice any effects with my skin. I most likely will not repurchase.
Dollar Tree Charcoal Facial Wipes
Continuing on I have Charcoal Facial Wipes from Dollar Tree. I like to use these in the mornings as a quick face wash. They are refreshing and cleanse my skin of sebum and oils. I will probably buy them again.
Shea Moisture African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask
Here is Shea Moisture’s African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask. It works well with my acne prone skin to help to reduce blemishes. There is a possibility that I will buy it again.
Olay Daily Facials Daily Hydrating Clean
Continuing on with the product empties spring 2019 post I have a one-time-use Olay Daily Facials cloth. In use as a makeup remover, it removes just as much makeup as any other cleansing cloth. The fresh and clean scent and feel is nice. However, I will never use these around my eyes again as they burn terribly. This is a bummer because I need to use another makeup remover solely for my eyes. I am not against buying the full size as a general face cleanser.
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
Next I have CeraVe’s Moisturizing Cream. This is more of a medicinal facial moisturizer from the drugstore that has no dyes or smell. It works fine, but it does not stand out from any other moisturizer that I have tried, so I find no reason to repurchase it.
elf Hydrating Bubble Mask
Here I have elf’s Hydrating Bubble Mask. I really enjoy the feeling of the bubbles dissipating on the skin, in conjunction with the fresh and clean smell. Overall, it is relaxing, and I will purchase the full size at some point.
Dollar Tree Cucumber Aloe Collagen Face Mask
For another mask I have this one from Dollar Tree that contains cucumber, aloe, and collagen. Besides it being very hydrating, there is nothing else that I can see it doing for my skin. I am not opposed to buying it again for the $1 price tag.
Found Fruit Aha Peel Pads
Next I have two Fruit Aha Peel Pads from Found. These pads are textured which enable them to be exfoliating, and they are almost uncomfortable. I need to try more than two to see if there are any benefits like reduced pores, but so far I do not see anything. I will probably not buy more.
My Beauty Spot
Neroli and Avocado Essential Oil Sheet Mask
Continuing this product empties spring 2019 post I have some My Beauty Spot masks. The neroli and avocado mask is super hydrating for the skin and makes my face feel as smooth as a baby’s bottom. Other than that, I do not notice other effects. This sheet mask is part of a set, which makes it tricky to repurchase, but my feelings are 50/50 on it.
Charcoal Infused Facial Mask Enhanced with Retinol
The next two masks do not produce any noticeable results. I can take them or leave them.
Charcoal Infused Facial Mask Enhanced with Argan Oil
Epielle Micellar Cleansing Water
I really love this k-beauty Epielle Micellar Cleansing Water! The formula does not irritate my eyes, it removes makeup just as well as any micellar water, but as an added bonus it also moisturizes the skin! I also enjoy the pump dispenser. I will definitely buy this again, and I already have purchased their micellar wipes to give them a try.
wet n wild Pump Tone Up Brightening Glitter Mask
I am sad to say that I do not see anything different about my skin while using the Tone Up Brightening Glitter Mask from wet n wild’s Pump line. On a positive note, the pink color and super sparkly glitter is fun to wear on the face. You do need to allow this mask some time to dry, about 20-30 minutes, before you can peel it off. It is just as uncomfortable to peel as any other peel-off mask. There is no reason for me to repurchase it.
Freeman
Detoxifying Charcoal and Black Sugar Mud Mask
Continuing with my product empties spring 2019 post I have a bunch of Freeman masks! First is the Detoxifying Charcoal and Black Sugar Mud Mask. It is a good mask for my acne-prone skin, and I will definitely consider buying the full size.
Clearing Sweet Tea and Lemon Peel-off Clay Mask
This Sweet Tea and Lemon Peel-Off Clay Mask does smell good and is easy to peel. I like that the clay aspect makes an opaque mask that you can actually see so that you can peel it all off. It is uncomfortable to peel, and I do not notice any benefits. This mask is a take it or leave it to me.
Hydrating Cactus and Cloudberry Water Gel Mask
Next is the Hydrating Cactus and Cloudberry Water Gel Mask that you leave on overnight. It is best to apply this mask in small amounts so that it absorbs into the skin without mess, but it does leave a bit of a tacky feel. By morning my face is more oily than usual, but it is a bit moisturizing. It does irritate my eyes somewhat, and overall I do not notice enough benefits to repurchase.
Revitalizing Pomegranate Peel-off Gel Mask
The Revitalizing Pomegranate Peel-off Gel Mask is making me realize that I do not like Freeman’s peel-off gel formula. Since the gel applies and dries clear, it is tricky to locate the mask on your face so that you can peel it all off. Again, it is a bit uncomfortable, and I do not notice any benefits to warrant buying this again.
Hydrating Glacier Water and Pink Peony Gel Cream Mask
The Hydrating Glacier Water and Pink Peony Gel Cream Mask is another overnight mask. My thoughts about this mask mirror those of the Cloudberry mask from above. Again, I will not repurchase.
Anti-stress Dead Sea Minerals Clay Mask
The last Freeman mask in this product empties spring 2019 post is the Anti-Stress Dead Sea Minerals Clay Mask. I really like the delicious, relaxing scent. The best part is the color of this mask- it is a cross between the color of the tube and the cyan text. It is so fun to wear on the face for the color alone, but the clay properties are good for my acne. I see myself buying it again.
No 7 Radiant Results Revitalizing Hot Cloth Cleanser
Moving out of masks I have a general facial cleanser from No 7. The Radiant Results Revitalizing Hot Cloth Cleanser is a relaxing, thick, and creamy face wash that works in conjunction with a muslin cloth to gently exfoliate the skin. It is a decent cleanser for normal skin on a daily basis, but my acne prone skin needs more targeted help. I will not repurchase it, but I think it will work for other people. Oddly enough, it appears that No 7 has discontinued it.
Fragrance
Body Fantasies Pink Sweet Pea Fantasy
First in my list of fragrances is my all-time favorite body spray. Pink Sweet Pea Fantasy is a delicious, feminine scent that I cannot get enough of. I have no need to repurchase it because I literally have a stockpile!
Body Fantasies Vanilla
Second I have a classic scent from Body Fantasies. Anytime someone smells like Vanilla, they are probably wearing this iconic spray. I have a full-size bottle of it.
Stella by Stella McCartney
Stella by Stella McCartney is a feminine perfume that also has a sensual, edgy twist. I do like it, but it is not a stand out from other perfume samples. I will not repurchase it.
Essence of Beauty Lemon Twist Body Mist
Fourth in my product empties spring 2019 post for fragrances is a super old Lemon Twist Body Mist. As you can imagine, it does smell like lemon. Since it is from 2007 there is no way to repurchase it, but if I could I still would not as it is not a game changer.
Essence of Beauty Citrus Coconut Body Mist
Fifth is another old body spray from 2007, this time in a citrus coconut scent. My feelings about it are the same for the lemon spray, and it is not available for repurchase.
Versace Bright Crystal
Bright Crystal is a sensual fragrance that combines florals, fruits, and musks. Again, I like it as much as any fragrance sample but it is not over the top enough for me to purchase the full size.
Makeup
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes
First from my makeup/beauty empties are Neutrogena’s Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. They are a cult favorite for a reason, because they do remove makeup just as well as any other wipe. I have no issue with buying them again, and they do not irritate my eyes.
elf Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths
Second I have two packages of elf’s Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths. These are comparable to Neutrogena’s, and I have purchased them several times. I will probably buy them again in the future.
Global Beauty Care Retinol Makeup Cleansing Wipes
Third for makeup wipes in my product empties spring 2019 post are Global Beauty Care’s Retinol Makeup Cleansing Wipes. These wipes are not wet enough to remove makeup fully from the face. I prefer them for cleaning up swatches while I blog, or for use on the face when I am in a quick pinch. I may repurchase them for blogging purposes only.
Equate Beauty Solid Brush Cleaner
Fourth I have a new favorite to share from Equate Beauty! The Solid Brush Cleaner effectively removes all makeup from my blending sponges without tearing them up! I love that the soap penetrates the sponge enough to remove makeup. Liquid soaps tend to penetrate the entire sponge, making it so that I cannot wash out 100% of the soap, but with this solid I can. It may stain your sponge a little bit with the charcoal, but it is so worth it. I have already bought another and I highly recommend it. As far as cleaning brushes goes I have not tried that, but it does come with a silicone scrub pad.
City Color Glowing Complexion Illuminating Cream
Fifth I have City Color’s Glowing Complexion Illuminating Cream. The champagne hue claims to be suitable for all skin tones. I mix this cream into my foundation and it provides a soft glow, but nothing over-the-top, and it does not harm the formula of my foundation. If you like cream highlighters then you will probably like this one. They are not my cup of tea, which is the reason why I will not repurchase it.
Hard Candy Sheer Envy Matte Setting Spray
Sixth I have Hard Candy’s Sheer Envy Matte Setting Spray. It does mattify my makeup all day while controlling oils and melting my makeup together. Ultimately I do not believe that it makes my makeup last longer, which is why I will not repurchase it. However, the good points may make it right for some people.
wet n wild perfectpout Lip Scrub in Pecker Up
Next I have wet n wild’s perfectpout Lip Scrub. Pecker Up is limited edition from the Flights of Fancy collection, but it is available in their permanent line under the scent name Watermelon. This stuff easily exfoliates your lips, and each pot lasts a long time. I have all of the scrubs which evidences that they are worth the repurchase. They also taste as good as they smell.
Maybelline Master Precise All Day Liquid Liner in Black
Continuing on with my product empties spring 2019 post I have Maybelline’s Master Precise All Day Liquid Liner in black. This matte black eyeliner has a long, felt tip that does not weaken over time. I have no issue getting the line that I want with this eyeliner. It does last all day and I believe it is a solid liquid eyeliner option from the drugstore. Looking to the future I can see myself buying it again.
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink
Here I have a Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink. I use it as an inner corner and brow bone highlight. Golden Pink is a hue that compliments whatever other makeup you are wearing. The formula glides on easily and shines all day. While this product does work, I will not repurchase it simply because I am not stick eyeshadow girl, but you may enjoy it.
Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara
Next I have Covergirl’s Lashblast mascara. If you have heard good things about this mascara, I do agree. It works for daily use to add some noticeable volume to the lashes. For me, I want to use a mascara that provides major false lash effect daily, which I do not get from this mascara. While I will not repurchase it, it is not a bad mascara to try.
Nyx Lip Primer in Nude
Here I have Nyx’s Lip Primer in Nude. When it is first applied it makes the lips look dry and patchy, but this stuff really works! Any type of lip color looks fine over it, and the best part is that it makes drying formulas feel comfortable and wearable on the lips. It is worth the repurchase.
Fresh Sugar Lip Caramel Hydrating Balm
Continuing I have Fresh’s Sugar Lip Caramel Hydrating Balm. This lip balm smells and tastes like delicious caramel. Besides that, it provides a lovely glossy sheen to the lips, and a little bit goes a long way. It definitely hydrates and softens the lips, making it a worthwhile repurchase.
Too Faced Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Skin Perfecting Primer
Next in my product empties spring 2019 post I have Too Faced’s Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Skin Perfecting Primer. It is definitely cooling and matte, but overall I do not think it extends the wear of my makeup more than any other primer in my collection. Since it is not a game changer, I will not repurchase.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Here I have a sample of Laura Mercier’s Translucent Loose Setting Powder. It is a cult favorite because it really does work for setting the skin or for baking. It is worth the repurchase, and I enjoy it for baking.
elf Instant Lift Brow Pencil in Neutral Brown
Next is elf’s Instant Lift Brow Pencil, which is a favorite of mine. Neutral Brown is a great shade match for my eyebrows, and the creamy formula is easy to apply and to comb through with the spoolie. The size of the tip is wide enough to quickly fill your brows, yet skinny enough to stay in the lines. I have already repurchased it. Did I mention that it lasts all day?!
beautyblender blendercleanser Solid Pro
Here I have beautyblender’s blendercleanser Solid Pro. It is another bar of soap that is designed to clean blending sponges. It works just as well as Equate’s version, but the price difference makes Equate the easy choice for me. To be fair, this product is worth the repurchase, but not for the price tag when I know there are others out there that work just as good.
elf Kiss It Goodbye Lip Color Remover
Next I have elf’s Kiss It Goodbye Lip Color Remover. It is a gel-like lip oil that dispenses from a lipgloss tube. This stuff is perfect for those lip colors that refuse to wash away, or for stains left behind from lip color. It is a must have for everyone to keep in their stash and I want to repurchase it.
elf Color Correcting Pen in Correct the Red
Continuing with my product empties spring 2019 post is elf’s Color Correcting Pen in Correct the Red. This green concealer has a sheer, thin formula which does so-so in correcting red skin. I have other green concealers in my collection that do a better job of concealing red with a more full coverage formula, so I will not repurchase this one. You may like it for sheer coverage. For being a pen product, it actually takes a long time to use up.
wet n wild megaglo Dual-Ended Contour Stick in Light/Medium
Here I have wet n wild’s megaglo Dual-Ended Contour Stick in Light/Medium. The formula is creamy and glides easily onto the skin. It is simple to blend out with a blending sponge and the contour and concealer do work. I will not repurchase it as stick makeup is not my jam, but it is worth buying if you are looking for an expensive contour stick.
Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil in 3
Next I have a poorly designed sample of Benefit’s Goof Proof Brow Pencil in shade 3. The packaging makes it impossible to use all of the pencil, but I like what I can try. Shade 3 matches me pretty well, and the pencil glides into the brows easily and stays in the lines. It is not more special than any other brow pencil that I own, so I will not repurchase it, but it is worth buying if you are in the market.
elf Translucent Mattifying Powder
Here I have elf’s Translucent Mattifying Powder. It is a bit of a cheat because there is some powder I cannot get to, so I have given up. The powder does mattify and set your foundation, but it does not make my makeup last longer. I will not repurchase it.
Loreal Voluminous Primer
Next I have Loreal’s Voluminous Lash Primer. I am on the fence about this mascara primer. Since the tube is small and designed so that I cannot access all of the product, I do want a larger sample to continue testing. So far I think it actually makes my mascara appear amplified, which is a first for any primer that I have tried. I may just purchase the full size!
Trestique Highlight Stick in Maldives Luminescent
Pressing on with my product empties spring 2019 post I have Trestique’s Highlight Stick in Maldives Luminescent. The mild champagne hue is easy to apply and blend out. However, once blended, it is hard to detect. You may enjoy it as a barely there stick highlight, but I will not repurchase it.
Haircare
Garnier Whole Blends Oat Delicacy Shampoo and Conditioner
First from my haircare empties I have Garnier’s Whole Blends Oat Delicacy Shampoo and Conditioner. After a one-time use I do not notice any results to support purchasing the full sizes. I do like the creamy formula and oat scent.
Herbal Essences Moroccan Me a Miracle 7-in-1 Serum
Second I have Herbal Essences Moroccan Me a Miracle 7-in-1 Serum. Let me just say that this stuff smells amazing! I use it as an anti-frizz oil or serum, but it is not a dupe for my beloved Ouai Rose and Hair Body Oil in terms of fully taming my frizz. I will not repurchase it.
Pantene Pro V Foam Conditioner
Third I have Pantene’s Pro V Foam Conditioner which I am sure you are sick of seeing. After trying multiple cans, my position has changed a bit. It seems as though the formula has become richer so that I feels like I am actually conditioning my hair and getting softening benefits. I will not repurchase simply because it is not better than any other conditioner in my home.
Garnier Fructis Smoothing Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask
Fourth I have the Smoothing Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask from Garnier. This stuff smells good and does soften my hair. I do not see any other benefits, nor is it a game changer, so I will not repurchase.
got2b Fresh It Up Dry Shampoo
Fifth from my product empties spring 2019 post is the Fresh It Up Dry Shampoo from got2b. The scent is not overpowering, nor does it linger in a bad way throughout the day. It works just as well as any other dry shampoo. For this reason I have no issues with repurchasing it, but I probably will not as there are so many dry shampoos on the market that are comparable.
Marajo Nourishing Cleansing Creme and Deep Treatment Butter
Sixth I have Marajo’s Nourishing Cleansing Creme and Deep Treatment Butter. After the one-time-use of this shampoo and conditioner duo I do not have enough data to support buying this stuff again. Everything does smell good and is creamy, but I do not notice any effects. This pair is no longer available online, even though I got these samples recently.
Moroccanoil Moroccanoil Treatment
Next I have moroccanoil hair oil from the Moroccanoil brand. I use it as a hair oil to tame my frizz but it still does not stand up to the Ouai oil. With this being said, it does smell good and it works decently well, but I will not repurchase it. It may work for you, as all hair is different.
Palmers Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Treatment
Pressing on I have Palmers’ Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Treatment. The formula is thick and it does soften the hair. I do not notice any special effects, so I will not repurchase it. If you actually have hair that needs help, this may be a product to try.
Hask Nourishing Coconut Oil Conditioning Treatment
Continuing I have Hask’s Nourishing Coconut Oil Conditioning Treatment. Again, I have nothing much to say about this conditioner. It does not blow me away enough to repurchase.
Garnier Fructis Color Vibrancy Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask
Next in my product empties spring 2019 post is the Color Vibrancy Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask by Garnier. My thoughts are really no different from those on the Smoothing Treat from above. I will not repurchase.
Drybar Triple Sec
The final hair item is Drybar’s Triple Sec. It is a favorite and holy grail for me that I have already repurchased. For my life it takes the place of hairspray to keep my curls and waves in tact for days. It provides weightless texture and mild dry shampoo and volumizing properties.
Body
Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Refreshing Coconut Oil
As we near the end of my trash review I am heading into body products with the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Refreshing Coconut Oil. The coconut scent is mild and nice. If I ever go into the market for a wet skin moisturizer, I have no issue buying this one. After using it for a few weeks my skin did not digress in softness or health, so I know that this stuff works as well as other lotions that I use.
Spa Naturals Coconut Oil Moisturizing Cream
Second I have a Coconut Oil Moisturizing Cream from Spa Naturals. I use this cream as hand lotion and it does a decent job, but it is not my favorite. There are other creams out there that lock in lasting moisture, so I will not repurchase it.
Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter
Third I have two tubs of The Righteous Butter from Soap and Glory. It does a great job of moisturizing your body, and I recommend it for use in the winter or on seriously dry skin. The Original Pink scent is nice as well. I approve of a repurchase.
Body Fantasies Pink Sweet Pea Fantasy Body Cream
Fourth from my product empties spring 2019 post I have Pink Sweet Pea Fantasy Body Cream. Surprisingly it does hydrate the body well, while leaving the lasting scent of pink sweet pea. It is worth the repurchase.
Soap and Glory
Hand Food
Fifth I have Hand Food by Soap and Glory. This is a nice hand cream that does work good enough for repurchase. I enjoy the Original Pink perfumed scent.
Clean On Me Creamy Shower Gel
Sixth I have Clean on Me. This creamy shower gel is highly perfumed with the Original Pink scent, but it works just as good as any shower gel. It is fine for repurchase, but ultimately I will continue to use shower gels with a lower price tag.
Sugar Crush Body Wash
Next I have Sugar Crush by Soap and Glory. I love the sweet lime scent so much that it is worth the repurchase for me! In terms of being a body wash or shower gel, it performs just as good as any other product.
Rich and Foamous Body Wash
Continuing I have Rich and Foamous from Soap and Glory, which is another body wash. Again, it is as good as any other body wash and not special enough for a repurchase.
Rich and Foamcall Body Wash
Ending the Soap and Glory lineup from my product empties spring 2019 post is Foamcall. I have no new thoughts from the other body washes, making this a take it or leave it.
Renpure Coconut Milk and Vitamin E Body Wash
Next I have Renpure’s Coconut Milk and Vitamin E Body Wash. The scent is mild and does not last at all. It is a basic body wash to me that is not a game changer. I will not repurchase it.
Curel Hydratherapy Wet Skin Moisturizer
The last empty that I have is Curels’ Hydratherapy Wet Skin Moisturizer. While the formula is thicker than Jergens, it is still a decent choice for those in the wet skin moisturizer market. I would consider a repurchase.
To conclude my product empties spring 2019 post, I feel highly accomplished with my 83 empties covering a variety of categories. My hope is that you will get out there any try some of my newly discovered favorites, or even some that do not leave a lasting impression on me. Trying out new products definitely keeps life interesting and is the best way to shake up your routine. Will you be trying any of these products? Let me know in the comments and until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
