It is difficult to fathom that 2019 is halfway over! This means it is time for my product empties summer 2019 list covering the second quarter of the year. These are all of my empties from April, May, and June. Over the 91 days in this quarter, I have 100 empties, which is more than one per day! In total we are 181 days into the year, and I have 183 empties. When you are testing out as many products as I do on a daily basis I find it challenging to recommend products to repurchase. For me to do so the product needs to stand out from the pack as a game changer. You will see in my detailed reviews that I will pass on most products, while highlighting the cream of the crop. Let’s get started.
Skincare
Soap & Glory Bright + Beautiful Party Recovery Radiance-Boosting Mask
The first skincare item in my product empties summer 2019 post is Soap and Glory’s Party Recovery Radiance-Boosting Mask. When you take this mask off it leaves a lot of serum behind that feels very oily, which makes it difficult to work into your skin. Of course you end up looking radiant with all that oil! I am definitely not a fan of that issue, so I will not be repurchasing.
Dollar Tree Charcoal, Aloe, Collagen Face Mask
Second, I have a Charcoal, Aloe, and Collagen mask from Dollar Tree. As will be the theme for most of the paper face masks here, I do not notice any effects from using this mask. I am not opposed to purchasing it again for the $1 price tag.
Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks
Third are the Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks. I really like how these stick to your face perfectly and you can go about your day without them falling off. The patches are like gold foil. After one use I am not sure if any benefits are reaped. For the price I probably will not try more.
Miss Spa Energize Face Mask
Fourth is the Energize Face Mask from Miss Spa. I do not see any effects with this mask, so I can take it or leave it.
Soo AE
My Collagen Hydrogel Lip Patch
Fifth in my product empties summer 2019 list is the My Collagen Hydrogel Lip Patch from Soo AE. It definitely hydrates the lips, however, it is too slippery and oversized to stay on your face. You pretty much need to lie down to use it. While I will not be purchasing more as it is too extra for my routine, it is not that bad.
Unicorn Glow Hologram Mask
Next up is the Unicorn Glow Hologram Mask from Soo AE. The black paper side goes against your face, and the opposite side is a shiny paper that is not holographic. I have no plans to repurchase as I do not see any effects.
Shea Moisture
Radiance Mud Mask
Continuing on is the Radiance Mud Mask from Shea Moisture. I do feel like mud masks in general are helpful for my acne, but other than that I do not see other effects. I have no plans to repurchase.
Youth-Infusing Mud Mask
I also have the Youth-Infusing Mud Mask. There are no changes with my fine lines, nor do I look more youthful. I can pass on this mask.
Bolero
Nourishing Paper Facial Mask French lavender & Citrus
For the Bolero products I have two sheet masks. First is the Nourishing Paper Facial Mask. Again, no results to share, so I have no reason to repurchase.
Moisturizing Paper Facial Mask Coconut Oil & Sea Salt
Second is the Moisturizing Paper Facial Mask. My though are the same for this mask.
Masqueology Under Eye Gold Gel Mask
Continuing on I have two pairs of Masqueology’s Under Eye Gold Gel Masks. In comparison to Wander Beauty’s version, these are more of a silicone jelly type. They still stay on the face really well! I do not see much happening with these except for under eye hydration. I have no plans to repurchase.
Yes to
Tomatoes Acne Fighting Paper Mask
Here is a sheet mask that I can stand behind! While it is only one use I do see a reduction in acne after using the Yes to Tomatoes Acne Fighting Paper Mask. I will totally buy this again and I also want to try other Yes to Tomatoes acne products!
Coconut Energizing Coffee DIY Powder-to-Clay Mask
Well, this Yes to mask is not as exciting as above. The Coconut Energizing Coffee DIY mask is one that you need to mix up yourself. I really do not like Yes to’s powder masks because they are completely off on the measurements. Using this mask as an example, the slightest amount of water ends up being too much, and you get soup instead of clay. This mask is too difficult to work with for me to recommend or repurchase it. Perhaps it is better to try it in the other forms that it is offered in, like a paper face mask. This kit comes with a measuring mixing cup and spoon.
Freeman
Renewing Cucumber Peel-off Gel Mask
Here are some Freeman masks. First is the Renewing Cucumber Peel-off Gel Mask. My complaint with the peel-off gel is still that it is clear, which makes it difficult to apply it where you want it and to get an even layer. The gel does peel off easily without pain. I do not see any effects so I will not repurchase.
Purifying Avocado + Oatmeal Clay Mask
Next I have the Purifying Avocado and Oatmeal Clay Mask. I have had the full-size in my collection for a long time, and I will continue to use it. I feel that it helps with my acne.
Brightening Green Tea + Orange Blossom Peel-off Gel Mask
Here is another peel-off gel mask in the Brightening Green Tea and Orange Blossom. My thoughts are the same as those for the cucumber mask.
Polishing Charcoal + Black Sugar Gel Mask + Scrub
The last Freeman mask in my product empties summer 2019 list is Polishing Charcoal and Black Sugar. It unfortunately does not work well as a mask. The thick texture makes it difficult to spread over your face and it sits on top of the skin. As a scrub it functions better because of the gritty, yet gentle sugar. While I am not sure that it does much for me, I will not repurchase. I am sad that I do have a full-size bottle already, and I do not want it.
My Beauty Spot
I have a bunch of My Beauty Spot paper face masks! The essential oil ones always make my skin feel super soft. Otherwise, I do not see any effects from these masks and I will not repurchase.
Nourish Sea Buckthorn Berry & Borage
Nourish Argan & Wheat Germ Mask
Smooth Lavender & Rose Hip
Charcoal Facial Mask Enhanced with Vitamin C
Charcoal Facial Mask Enhanced with Marine Algae
Global Beauty Care
Charcoal Spa Treatment Mask
Moving into the Global Beauty Care brand commonly found at Dollar Tree, I have a Charcoal Spa Treatment Mask. There is not much going on with this mask, so I can take it or leave it.
Gold Gel Face Mask
These “gel” face masks are pretty useless to me. I feel like they sit on the skin and do not do anything. I have no reason to repurchase the gold or the charcoal masks.
Charcoal Gel Face Mask
Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet
Caudalie’s Vinsource Moisturizing Sorbet is a nice, everyday moisturizer. It is not a game changer or any better than other moisturizers that I test out, so I will not repurchase.
Clean and Clear Lemon Zesty Scrub
Clean and Clear’s Lemon Zesty Scrub is a fine daily face wash and scrub. It cleanses the skin and lightly exfoliates with a lemon scent. I am a fan of all things lemon so I am still interested in trying out the entire lemon line. As far as benefits I am not sure what I get out of this scrub, but I think it does it’s job. While I may not repurchase at this time, it’s not a bad product.
Olay Regenerist Whips
Here I have Olay’s Rengenerist Whips. This is a daily moisturizer that dries to a matte finish. When using it as a moisturizer or as a primer I get the same results with my makeup, and it does not make it last longer. The scent is nice. There are other good moisturizers out there so I will not repurchase this one at the hefty price.
Sephora Mud Mask Purifying & Mattifying
After one quick use of Sephora’s Mud Mask in Purifying and Mattifying I am not sure that I can see any benefits, but it does apply nice. I have not used enough to formulate a solid opinion.
Burt’s Bees Soap Bark & Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream
Burt’s Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream is a daily face wash that leaves a cooling sensation on your skin for minutes after you use it. While I am sure it does the job of cleansing, I do not feel like it helps with acne. I will not be repurchasing.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye
I find almost all eye creams to be a gimmick, as I never see results. Call me crazy, but I think that Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye delivers some instant results. It seems to reduce the appearance of fine lines and to hydrate the under eye area. I almost purchased the full-size, but the price tag holds me back. One day I may just buy it.
Glamglow Good in Bed Passionfruit Softening Night Cream
Next I have Glamglow’s Good in Bed Passionfruit Softening Night Cream. I do think that it softens the skin, but it does not blow me away. If you need a softening night cream then give this one a try, but I personally do not feel like I need one and I will pass.
No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Night Cream
For another night cream I have No7’s Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced cream. I like that it has a light and clean scent, and it absorbs into the skin quickly with no residue. It does soften and soothe the skin. While I am not looking for a night cream for my skincare routine, you may want to give this one a try.
wet n wild Pump
Expert Level Facial Cleansing Oil
I do not feel like I am an expert on what makes a cleansing oil a good oil, but I believe that wet n wild’s Expert Level Facial Cleansing Oil does the job. The oil cleanses my skin and I consider it to be a basic, everyday product. As for now I will not be adding an oil into my routine, but it is worth trying this product.
Detox It Purifying Glitter Mask
Here is another Pump product- the Detox It Purifying Glitter Mask. The mask is a little bit painful to peel off, and I do not see any benefits. I will not repurchase.
Personal Best Exfoliating Cleansing Balls
One final Pump product are the Personal Best Exfoliating Cleansing Balls. I take one ball, wet it, crush it up, and then rub it all over my wet face. The balls turn into a paste for me, so they do not feel like they are gritty or exfoliating. However, they leave my face literally squeaky clean! Somehow they do clean without exfoliation, and I can hear the “squeak.” These balls are pretty strange but I think they are worth trying out, especially if these results sound desirable to you. At this time I will not repurchase as they are not necessary for my routine.
Garnier
Skin Active Waterproof Micellar Cleansing Water
I find that the Garnier Skin Active Waterproof Micellar Water does a good job of removing all makeup without irritating my eyes. I use whatever micellar water that I have on hand, so I am not opposed to buying more, but it is not necessary for me.
Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water
While this is not the waterproof version of the Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water, the results that I get are the same as those from the waterproof version. My feelings are also the same.
Dollar Tree Clay Mask Duo Eucalyptus and Charcoal
I like a good clay mask to help with my acne, and these Dollar Tree masks are alright. Since you get one use per pod, it is hard to formulate an opinion. I need more uses before I make a say here, but I am not opposed to buying this again.
Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm
Clinique’s Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm is a makeup removing balm. It does the job just fine. With all of the makeup remover wipes and micellar waters out there, I have no reason to repurchase this balm when I can save money and use something just as effective.
Balance Me Congested Skin Serum
Continuing on I have Balance Me’s Congested Skin Serum. I really do believe this stuff makes a difference with my acne! I have already purchased the full-size.
Youth to the People Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream
Here is yet another moisturizer. The Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream is fine for daily use. I feel that it does moisturize, but it does not blow me away or prove to be better than any other moisturizer. I will not repurchase.
Simple Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water
Next up is Simple’s Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water. This stuff works just as well as any other ordinary micellar water. I typically use whatever micellar water that I have on hand or got a good deal on. I have no plans to repurchase as of now, but I totally could in the future.
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Cream
The last skincare product from my product empties summer 2019 list is Bye Bye Under Eye Cream by It Cosmetics. It does a really good job of moisturizing the under eye area for use alone or under makeup. Otherwise, I see nothing happening, bringing me back to my gimmicky eye cream theory. I will not repurchase.
Body
Purely Inspired Collagen Peptides Vitality Blend
To begin with body items in this product empties summer 2019 list I have Purely Inspired’s Collagen Peptides Vitality Blend. After drinking this one-time serving of powder it is impossible to see any results. I have no plans to spend money on the full-size. As far as I can tell it does not give flavor to what you mix it into.
Burt’s Bees Body Lotion Milk & Honey
Second is Milk and Honey Body Lotion by Burt’s Bees. It smells nice and hydrates my body just as well as most lotions. It does not knock my socks off enough for a repurchase, but it works.
Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
Third is Cetaphil’s Moisturizing Lotion. I consider this more of a medicinal lotion for use when you really need some extra help. This is an odd use for lotion, but it fixed the skin on my left ear that got super dry for whatever reason. Cetaphil also helps with random itchy spots. I have no plans to repurchase, but if a need arises in the future I will.
Hello Activated Charcoal Toothpaste
Fourth is Hello’s Activated Charcoal Toothpaste. This is not my first go around with this toothpaste, but the fact it is black is super fun. I am sad to say that I do not see a whole lot of results, but keep in mind I live on coffee and iced tea which stains your teeth. I will not repurchase, but if more falls into my lap I will use it.
Creamo Moisturizing Shave Cream Coconut Mango
Fifth in my product empties summer 2019 post is Creamo’s Moisturizing Shave Cream in Coconut Mango. This stuff claims to create a ridiculously slippery surface on the skin for shaving. Newsflash, it does not work any better than other shaving creams or gels that I use, and the surface is not that slippery. It does the job while shaving, and that is it. I will not repurchase.
Everyone Soap 3-in-1 Coconut Lemon
Next is Everyone Soap’s 3-in-1 Coconut Lemon body wash. This is a basic, everyday body wash that does the job with a light scent. I have no over-the-top reason to repurchase at this time.
Palmers Coconut Oil Body Oil
Continuing on I have Coconut Oil Body Oil by Palmers. This oil absorbs quickly into the skin and provides a lasting glow. I will most likely repurchase! I like that the glow makes your skin look super healthy and lit from within. This oil is great to apply to exposed areas of skin during the spring and summer months before an outing so that you look extra healthy.
Juara Coconut Illipe Hand and Nail Balm
Here is Juara’s Coconut Illipe Hand and Nail Balm. I use this as a nightly hand cream before bed as part of my nail care routine. The cream performs ok, it is not the most long lasting in terms of how hydrated my hands feel in the morning. I will not repurchase.
Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream
Next I have Sol de Janeiro’s Coco Cabana Cream. This stuff smells so delicious! The scent reminds me of wet n wild’s photofocus Water Drop Primer in Coconut Dreamin’. It does a nice job of moisturizing the skin and I enjoy it. Since there are drugstore options that work well, I will not repurchase.
Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Polish
Pressing on I have Soap and Glory’s Flake Away Body Polish. While my favorite body polish is still Dove’s, this version works pretty well. It is thick enough to do the job, and I like the “original Pink” scent. If I am ever in the market for a body polish I will keep this one in mind, but as for now I do not need one.
Dollar Tree Lemon Hand Cream
The last body item in my product empties summer 2019 post is a generic lemon hand cream from Dollar Tree. My expectations are low with this type of product, but it is not the worst or the best. The lemon scent is ok and the formula is not too greasy, so it absorbs decently into the skin. It does not leave as much lasting moisture as other creams. I will not repurchase.
Haircare
Herbal Essences bio renew
Refresh Blue Ginger Dry Shampoo
The first haircare item in my product empties summer 2019 list is Herbal Essence’s Refresh Blue Ginger Dry Shampoo. It works just as well as any other dry shampoo. This dry shampoo is discontinued so it cannot be repurchased.
Hydrate Coconut Milk Oil Infused Cream
Second is Herbal Essence’s Coconut Milk Oil Infused Cream. I use this on damp hair as a leave-in conditioning product and it smells nice. I do not see any benefits. This is also discontinued.
Tresemme Tres Gel Extra Hold Hair Gel
Third is Tres Gel Extra Hold Hair Gel by Tresemme. I like that it provides all day weightless hold without leaving a residue in my hair. On a daily basis I use a pea-sized amount of gel to hold down tiny hairs on the top of my head. I already repurchased the full-size and I do recommend it!
John Frieda Frizz Ease Daily Nourishment Leave-in Conditioner
Fourth is John Frieda’s Frizz Ease Daily Nourishment Leave-in Conditioner. Again, I apply this to damp hair as a leave-in to help with frizz. I see no difference with my hair and will not repurchase.
Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle Leave-in Conditioner
Fifth in my product empties summer 2019 list is Beauty Protector’s Protect and Detangle Leave-in Conditioner. My thoughts for it are the same as those on the John Frieda spray and Herbal Essences cream. I will not repurchase.
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray
Next is Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray. I am always compairing this type of spray to my all-time favorite Drybar Triple Sec. Oribe’s version does not hold a wave or curl in my hair as long as Drybar’s. You can also feel Oribe’s spray in your hair as it is a bit drying. Overall I will not repurchase and will stick with Triple Sec, which is cheaper anyway.
No4 Supercomb Prep and Protect
Continuing on I have No4’s Supercomb Prep and Protect. Yet again I use this as a leave-in conditioner on damp hair but I see no results. I will not repurchase.
Hask
Here I have three different conditioning treatments from Hask and I am going to talk about them as a group. I think they all deliver the same, or similar results. None of them are over-the-top game changers for me, but they make my hair feel soft. While you may want to try them, I do not have a need to repurchase.
Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Deep Conditioner
Argan Oil Repairing Deep Conditioner
Orchid White Truffle Moisture Rich Deep Conditioner
Garnier Fructis
Next I have two Garnier Fructis one minute hair masks. They work fine as daily conditioner and they smell nice. I do not see any benefits so I will not repurchase.
Strengthening Treat Banana Extract 1 Minute Mask
Damage Repairing Treat Papaya Extract 1 Minute Mask
Deva Curl No Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser and One Condition Original Daily Cream Conditioner
Pressing on I have Deva Curl’s No Poo Shampoo and One Condition Conditioner. As I have said before, a one-time-use is hard to judge, but I do not get negative effects from using this on my non-naturally curly hair. Since it is not really made for me, I will not repurchase.
Pantene Pro V Intense Rescue Shot
Here I have a Pantene Pro V Intense Rescue Shot. I used this after a lot of heat styling and my hair did go back to normal. Honestly, this product does not stand out to me over my favorites and probably requires further testing. As of now I will not repurchase.
Davines
Oi Shampoo and Conditioner
Next up is Oi Shampoo and Conditioner from Davines. My hair did not change after this one-time use and I will not repurchase.
Love Shampoo and Conditioner
Here is Love Shampoo and Conditioner by Davines. Again, I notice no changes after using this pair so I will not repurchase.
Klorane Anti-Pollution Shampoo and Conditioner
The final haircare product in this product empties summer 2019 post is a shampoo and conditioner duo from Klorane’s Anti-Pollution line. These smell really medicinal with menthol and mint. After one use I really cannot formulate an opinion, but my hair looks and feels the way it normally does after using these samples. I am thinking they may be good for removing buildup. For the price I will not buy the full-size.
Fragrance
Bath and Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena Body Splash
The first fragrance item from my product empties summer 2019 list is the Coconut Lime Verbena Body Splash by Bath and Body Works. The fragrance is light and does not linger long, and I like to spritz it on after a shower. It appears that this body spray is not available anymore, but I will not repurchase all the same.
Body Fantasies
Sparkling Apple Body Spray
Second is Sparkling Apple Body Spray from Body Fantasies. It smells exactly like the name. Nothing against the scent, I just have no reason to repurchase, and it is no longer available.
Cozy Gingerbread Body Spray
I also have Cozy Gingerbread. To me, it smells more like vanilla or some sort of cookie, but I do like it. This scent also gets me some compliments. It is no longer available as well, so I cannot repurchase.
Viktor & Rolf Magic Salty Flower
The final fragrance from my product empties summer 2019 list is Magic Salty Flower by Viktor and Rolf. I really like this perfume a lot and it is on my wishlist to repurchase! Since it is new it is only available in a large bottle, which is way outside of my budget. The minute that a smaller size gets released I am going to snatch it up. Magic Salty Flower is such a unique fragrance that is hard to describe, but it is beachy. You should definitely check out a Sephora and sniff a sample.
Makeup
elf
Active Post Workout Cool Down Mist
I am ending my product empties summer 2019 listing with my favorite topic- makeup and related products! First is elf’s Active Post Workout Cool Down Mist. It is designed to be sprayed on your face after working out to help you cool down, and it does work. The fragrance is light, clean, and fresh. I also love using it for an unconventional purpose as a makeup setting spray. While it does not extend the wear of makeup (and it is not created to do so anyway), it does melt my makeup together and provide the skin with a natural, healthy, lit from within glow. Even when sprayed on bare skin you get the glow. I have already repurchased another.
Solid Sponge Cleanser
Second is the Solid Sponge Cleanser by elf. It does the job of effectively cleaning my sponges without tearing them up. The soap washes out very quickly which reduces the time it takes me to wash my sponges. I may get some stains from the charcoal here and there on my sponges, but overall this stuff works and I most likely will buy it again.
Mineral Booster in Corrective Yellow
Third is a discontinued elf product, the Mineral Booster in Corrective Yellow. This powder can be used to set or bake areas of the skin, but it does not work well, and often gives me patchiness. You would think that the yellow tone is brightening, but it is too dark for my skin tone and leaves me looking yellow. Even if it was still available, there is no way I will buy this again.
Nyx
HD Finishing Powder in Translucent
Fourth is the HD Finishing Powder from Nyx. I cannot get the last bit to apply onto my brush, so I am calling it quits. This powder sets the face just fine. I do not see it extending the wear time of my makeup or doing anything life changing, so I will not repurchase. The powder does remind me of elf’s Perfect Finish HD Powder.
Pro Foundation Mixer in White
Fifth in my product empties summer 2019 post is Nyx’s Pro Foundation Mixer in white. I use this product to lighten liquid and cream foundations that are too dark for my skin tone. It does the job perfectly without altering the formula or wearability of your foundation. This is an easy repurchase for me.
Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Daily Shine Control in Light/Medium
Next is Garnier’s BB Cream. The Light/Medium shade is a hair too dark for me, but after getting a little bit of sun it looks fine. I like to apply BB creams as if they are foundation, and you get light to medium buildable coverage with this product. It actually looks really nice and skin-like on the face, and I enjoy it. At this time I will not repurchase, but maybe one day in the future I will.
wet n wild
megaglo Face Mist
Continuing on with some wet n wild I have their megaglo Face Mist. This is a dewy setting spray that smells like lemon and lavender, which is quite nice. It does provide glow, but it is not better than any other setting spray, nor does my makeup last longer. Since there is no wow factor here, I will not repurchase.
Take On the Day Eyeshadow Primer in For My Primas
The Take On the Day Eyeshadow Primer is discontinued and is replaced with the photofocus Eyeshadow Primer. Both are the same exact formula, the only differences are the name and packaging. I swear by this primer and I use it on the daily basis. It is a holy grail and I am always stocked up on it. The formula is also a dupe, in my opinion, to Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion.
photofocus Concealer in Light/Ivory
Next up is the photofocus Concealer in Light/Ivory. This concealer is super creamy, lightweight, provides medium to full coverage, and it never lets me down by looking good all day. I am always stocked up on this concealer as well. I reach for it most days.
Pump On Your Matte Oil Absorbing Blotting Papers
One final wet n wild product are the On Your Matte Oil Absorbing Blotting Papers. They do the job of removing all of the excess oil from your face. If you need some blotting papers, give these a try. I do not need these right now in my routine so I will not repurchase.
Maybelline
Master Prime Primer in Hydrate & Smooth
Moving on to Maybelline I have the Master Prime Primer in Hydrate & Smooth. I think if you have dry skin you will love this primer to the moon and back. For me, I have oily skin on my t-zone and normal skin on my cheeks, so I get way too much hydration with this primer. I can use this primer in place of a moisturizer and get the same results. Because this primer is not for my skin needs, I will not repurchase. I also do not find that it makes my makeup last longer.
Brow Define and Fill Duo in Deep Brown
Next is the Brow Define and Fill Duo in Deep Brown. The pencil gets used up way before you run out of powder on the other end. Deep Brown is a good shade match for me. The duo does the job correctly of filling the brows. I am more of a quickie brow person who wants to use a pencil or pomade and move on, so I will not repurchase this multi-step product.
Marcelle City Tinted Cream in Fair
Continuing on I have Marcelle’s City Tinted Cream in Fair. This is a lightweight and light coverage tinted moisturizer that is perfect for the summer or when you do not want to wear a lot of foundation. If I am ever in the market for a tinted moisturizer I will come back to this one.
No7 Protect and Perfect Lip Care
Do not mind that the logo wore off the tube, but I have No7’s Protect and Perfect Lip Care. I use this as a lip balm or treatment before bed. The formula is white and runny, but it dries down onto the lips after a few minutes. I get a weird, almost numbing sensation from this stuff that is temporary. It works ok to soften the lips. The way the formula feels when dried down it almost seems like it can be a lip primer. At this time I will not repurchase.
Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick in Envious
Here is a sample of Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Envy Lipstick in the shade Envious, which is a classic red. The formula is the same of any standard lipstick, with a shiny finish and creamy, high pigmentation formula. It feels good on the lips. To me, lipstick is lipstick and I will not buy the full-size.
Setz Blot and Translucent Powder
Continuing on I have the Setz Blot and Translucent Powder sets. The sponge smells a bit like rubbing alcohol to me. I use these to set shiny areas of my face, and the powder does mattify for a few hours without looking cakey. I am not into blotting my face so I will not repurchase these. You may enjoy these if you tend to touch up throughout the day.
Danielle Erase Your Face Acne Fighting Cleansing Clots
Next are the Danielle Erase Your Face Acne Fighting Cleansing Cloths that I use as makeup remover wipes. My main complaint with these are that they need more juice! After I wipe my face down they are barely wet enough to remove my eye makeup. Other than that, they do not irritate my eyes or skin, and they do remove makeup fairly well. I really do not think they help with my acne. I can take these or leave these.
Found Stardust Illuminating Makeup Setting Spray
Here I have the Found Stardust Illuminating Makeup Setting Spray. This spray makes you illuminated by the use of a fine glitter, but it is not overpowering by any means. It does not make my makeup last longer so there is no reason to repurchase.
Essence Lash Princess Mascara
I am here to confirm that all the hype about Essence’s Lash Princess Mascara is true, and it is hard to impress me with mascara! You totally get big, voluminous lashes that are similar to falsies, and this stuff is so affordable! I recommend it and will repurchase it.
Benefit Gimme Brow+ in Shade 3
Here is Benefit’s Gimme Brow+ in shade three. The tiny spoolie is perfect for eyebrow application without making a mess. Gimme Brow holds my brows into place with a light tint and without crunchiness. Since there are many great drugstore products out there that do the same thing (like Essence’s Make Me Brow), I will not spend the extra cash to repurchase, but this is a good high end option.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Color Correcting Adjust
Moving on I have Smashbox’s Photo Finish Foundation Primer in Color Correcting Adjust. This primer is green, but it does nothing to cancel out my redness. It simply primes the face and we move on with life. As far as making my makeup last, Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer is better in my opinion. I will not repurchase.
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Serum
I am not a fan of Rimmel’s Lash Accelerator Serum. At first I was thinking my lashes were getting longer, but now I believe it was all in my head. My eyebrows have not gotten fuller at all. I do not recommend applying this serum before mascara because it clumps your eyelashes together, resulting in mascara that looks terrible. The formula dries around the lashes creating some sort of clear casing or residue. I apply this stuff before bed, and remove it in the morning with micellar water. You can also see that the metallic paint wears off of the handle. I will not repurchase.
Yes to
Cotton Comforting Facial Wipes
Here I have the Yes to Cotton Comforting Facial Wipes. These wipes have round bumps that you really cannot feel but they do a good job of picking up makeup without pushing the residue around your face. Additionally, they are decently thick and moist. They have a fresh, cotton scent and do not bother my eyes. I have no plans to repurchase, again as I use whatever I have on hand, but they are not bad wipes.
Blueberries Cleansing Facial Wipes
The final item in my product empties summer 2019 list are the Yes to Blueberries Cleansing Facial Wipes. I use these as makeup remover wipes and they unfortunately push the makeup around your face. They are also so thin that you can easily tear them apart. I will not repurchase these. At least they do not irritate my eyes.
In summary of my product empties summer 2019 list, most products are so-so, but there are a few that are over the top! I really kicked butt with using up products this quarter and getting my money’s worth. This type of post takes a lot of time and energy to create, so if you find it valuable please let me know in the comments so that I can continue to write these in the future. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
