It is the highlight of my year to review wet n wild’s latest line of Halloween makeup, and I always look forward to it. For 2023 the theme is wet n wild Fantasy Makers The Dolls, marketed with spooky and disturbing footage of spiders. The collection itself is nearly identical to 2022 which was wet n wild Fantasy Makers Bedeviled, and even to years before that. We only have a small selection of items that are new, which are what I am reviewing, swatching, and creating looks with. Notes On wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2023
I always start out with my notes, as well as troubles, with the collection. Please note that I do not buy the paints, glitters, stencils, and other costume-like products because I will not get use out of them. However, I did buy the paint tubes.
On the full display, you will find a selection of items from their permanent line. You will also find the following repeats from last year and previous years:
- All false lashes

Where to Buy Fantasy Makers The Dolls From wet n wild
It has been quite the challenge getting all wet n wild Fantasy Makers The Dolls items! Walmart got the full-displays in store, however, they do not carry the high shine liquid lipsticks at all. The items from the display are on their website, however they do not have images, shade names, or descriptions. You literally have to shop blind!
The only store that carries the high shine liquid lipsticks are CVS. None of the stores in the side of the state where I live are even carrying this collection in store. wet n wild has not commented if they are CVS exclusive. They were immediately out of stock online from the get go, which indicates they were never stocked to begin with. I watch them daily, and one day they showed in stock and I ordered the new shade, Bloodstained. A few days later they cancelled my order and they went back to out of stock. As of 10/10/23 they are officially stocked and my order arrived!
Five Blow had small in-store displays. Ulta and wet n wild’s website got their ususal poor selection. Amazon hardly got anything! I found the small FM display in Rite Aid and it was 100% full of core line items.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers Temporary Face & Body Tattoos
First for wet n wild Fantasy Makers The Dolls is four sets of Fantasy Makers Temporary Face & Body Tattoos. Each sheet is absolutely gorgeous! I can see these being used all over the body for any purpose.
Claims: These temporary tattoos should wash away after a few cleanings. To apply, remove the foil, place the design face down, and firmly press with a wet cloth for 30 seconds until the paper slides off.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers Individual Gems in Sparkling Spell
Second for wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2023 is the Fantasy Makers Individual Gems in Sparkling Spell. I personally have no experience of trying stick on gems over my makeup, but this year’s design is very multi-purpose. I appreciate the potential that they offer.
Claims: These self-adhesive gems add instant drama add sparkle to any look. They should be easy to apply and to remove.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers Nail Accents in To The Bones
Third in wet n wild Fantasy Makers Halloween 2023 are the Fantasy Makers Nail Accents in To The Bones. They glow in the dark! The stickers work great and are easy to apply. I find that they last for the length of your manicure when sealed with top coat.
Claims: These nail decals stick easily onto your maniure. Once you seal them with top coat, you are set.

Fourth for Fantasy Makers The Dolls from wet n wild are two new sets of Fantasy Makers Artificial Nails. While I did like last year’s designs, I think these are even cuter! wet n wild’s glue works very well. You can always trim and reshape these to make them more wearable, if desired. The pumpkins are calling my name!
Claims: Get a salon look at home with provided nail glue that gives an extra strong bond.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers Color-Changing Cream Blush in Berry But Black
Fifth for the wet n wild fantasy Makers The Dolls Halloween collection is the Fantasy Makers Color-Changing Cream Blush in Berry But Black. I like to apply it with a brush in stippling motions, then blend it out with a sponge. It blends well and the shade is not overbearing. This is just the right amunt of color. It does not dry down fully to a powder, as you can feel the slightest amount of tackiness during the day. It lasts all day and is more on the dewy side.
Claims: This is a black gel blush that contains pH-activated ingredients to transform to a berry color. It can be applied with a brush or your fingers, with silky texture that applies and blends seamlessly.
Rating:
I want to point out that this blush is not new at all. It orginates from the wet n wild Rebel Rose collection. While I think the new version is slighly lighter in shade, they feel, wear, and apply the same. They are even described in the same way. The biggest difference might be how many years the original has been open.
wet n wild Fantasy Makers 10 Pan Palette For Eye & Face in Eyes of the Dragon
Next in wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2023 for Halloween is the Fantasy Makers 10 Pan Palette For Eye & Face in Eyes of the Dragon. For a while I have been feeling like their eyeshadows had some inconsistent shades or lacked their signature quality. This palette is absolutely stunning like classic wet n wild! All of the shades are velvety soft, super pigmented, and easy to work with. I am very impressed. There are no shade names, only numbers on the back.
Claims: This eyeshadow palette features buttery soft and rich pigments that glide on easily. You can apply them wet or dry.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers Hyper Pigment Liquid Paint
Here are the three shades of Fantasy Makers Hyper Pigment Liquid Paint from the wet n wild Fantasy Makers The Dolls collection. For some reason they intrigue me in contrast to my no costume makeup rule. I find that they have full pigmentation in one swipe and dry down to a matte finish that does not crack or fade. You can apply them with your fingers, a brush, or a sponge. Please note that they stain your skin and sponges, especially the red, but they do wash out of clothing. I find that the white shade is drier than the other two in terms of being more mattified and harder to blend. The other shades seem to have more oil in them.
Claims: These paints should be hyper pigmented and vibrant while also being easy to apply. They should deliver rich, bold color with high coverage that you can apply with a brush or your fingers. No water is required for a smooth blend.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers Liquid Eyeshadow
In wet n wild Fantasy Makers The Dolls we get three new shades of Fantasy Makers Liquid Eyeshadow. Their formula dries down quickly but is still workable. It can be layered to your desired intensity. They do swatch rather streaky, but I do not have that problem on the eyelid. I like to blend them with a flat eyeshadow brush. They dry down and last all day without flaking, creasing, or moving. You may layer them with powder eyeshadow.
Claims: These are richly-pigmented liquid eyeshadows that provide multi-dimensional shine. They should stay in place and apply smoothly and seamlessly.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers megalast Matte Lip Color in Pink Crimes
This is the Fantasy Makers megalast Matte Lip Color in Pink Crimes. Pink Crimes is pretty much a red with a pink base. As with the entire megalast Matte Lip Color line, it has a comfortable matte finish that never looks dry on the lips. It has full pigmentation in one swipe. Being that it is lipstick, it will transfer, but not quickly.
Claims: This lipstick has a velvety-smooth, semi-matte finish with high-impact color. It provides bold color that stays put for long lasting performance.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers Mega Last Liquid Catsuit High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Bloodstained
Last for wet n wild Fantasy Makers The Dolls is one new shade of Fantasy Makers Mega Last Liquid Catsuit High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Bloodstained. Their formula has a high shine and feels nourishing on the lips. It will transfer, which is the nature of this product. It is full coverage and not streaky.
Claims: This liquid lip color should have vibrant color and a luscious, mirror-like shine. It contains the key ingredients of Vitamin E, sunflower seed, passion fruit seed, and macadamia oils to nourish the lips.

Purple Lipstick Comparison
As a bonus, I am comparing the 2023 purple lipstick. As far as I can tell, Wicked Amethyst from 2023 is the same as What The Spooky from wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2020, simply renamed. I believe the visual difference comes from the fact that the old one has been open for three years. I will be throwing it away in favor of the new.

Almost Normal
Now I am ending with two full face of wet n wild makeup looks. I do feature products that are still available this year, but are not new. The first one uses their more day-to-day products to create a seemingly “normal” look in terms of it not being the most costume-like. Below are the products that I used:

For the eyeshadow look, begin by applying shade 7 in the crease. Next, apply shade 8 on the eyelid. Then, apply shade 6 in the outer-v. Now, apply shade 2 along the lower lash line. Finish the look by highlighting the brow bone and inner corner with shade 10. I also applied the glitter mascara to my eyebrows and top and lower lashes.
Moon Demon
My second look is very much theatrical. I actually mixed the paints into the foundation to tone them down slightly and make them more skin-like. This worked really well! I blended the look with a sponge. I would have loved to use the Bloodstained liquid lipstick. Below are the products that I used:

In conclusion of wet n wild Fantasy Makers The Dolls, it is nice to work with fewer items, but it is also fun to play with a bigger collection. With your imagination you can use most anything for daily wear. It is evident that wet n wild’s signature high quality is shining through the collection.
