The Aesthetic Edge

elf Srsly Satin Lipstick Review

Do you think that a good, classic lipstick will ever go out of style? I am convinced they will be around as long women wear lip color! We have all tried our hand at some hues from the drugstore, and elf cosmetics has been serving up lip looks for over 10 years. They have done a lot of discontinuing of their lipstick varieties in order to stay trendy in the market. I want to do a dedicated elf Srsly Satin Lipstick review because I talk about and show them in another blog post, but they deserve some time and attention. Here I will provide full details with shade descriptions and swatches.

I am starting this elf Srsly Satin Lipstick review with where you can buy the lipsticks. If you are looking for the full shade range, definitely stick with elf’s website or Ulta!

The Details

There are 10 shades in the Srsly Satin Lipstick line that retail for $3 each. You get .12 ounces or 3.5 grams of product. All of elf’s products are vegan and cruelty free. Their makeup does not contain phthalates, parabens, nonylphenol ethoxylates, triclosan, triclocarban, and hydroquinone.

Claims

elf claims that their Srsly Satin Lipsticks feature a creamy formula that saturates the lips with one-swipe pigmentation. They should moisturize and hydrate the lips while wearing like silk. Additionally, they have awesome “luxe” clear packaging.

Review

Now onto the actual elf Srsly Satin Lipstick review! First and foremost, these lipsticks do stand up to their claims. They provide full-coverage in one swipe that is easy to apply. The formula is soft so there is no dragging or tugging. When being worn on the lips they have a true satin finish, which is in between of being glossy or matte, but they never feel dry. The moisturizing properties are present, making these highly enjoyable to wear. You have seen me feature these in several blog posts when I am wearing elf makeup because I truly love them.

Do keep in mind that these are standard lipsticks, so unlike the Jen Atkin lippies, you will have some transfer, but it is not bad. With careful eating and drinking you can make these last all day with minor touch-ups. I have eaten Taco Bell with these on, which is quite the feat!

The minimalistic packaging is beyond gorgeous! At the end of the day, you are getting decent drugstore lipstick for $3, and they are totally worth it. The shade range is definitely created with the modern woman in mind. I completely recommend these to you.

Conclusion

To conclude this elf Srsly Satin Lipstick review, these are perfectly good $3 drugstore lipsticks. You get what you get for the price point, but they do stand up to all of the claims. Satin lipstick is a great compromise to avoid a sticky, glossy pout, or a drying matte liquid lipstick. This line is bringing me back to lipstick after straying into liquid lipsticks for several years. I hope that more shades get released soon. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
