All of elf’s products are vegan and cruelty free. Their makeup does not contain phthalates, parabens, nonylphenol ethoxylates, triclosan, triclocarban, and hydroquinone.

elf claims that their Sheer Slick Lipsticks provide a touch of dialed-down color and shine that is perfect for everyday wear. The formula should be silky, smooth, creamy, and nourishing, while keeping your lips feeling soft and hydrated.

Now onto the actual elf Sheer Slick Lipstick review! First and foremost, these lipsticks do stand up to their claims. They do provide a sheer wash of color combined with a lovely shine. While they are comfortable and feel nourishing, after a few hours of wear, the shine starts to go away and they feel more set on the lips. However, you should bear in mind that this type of lipstick is not meant to be long-wearing. It will come off with eating and drinking, and we should expect this. The formula will not actually dry down, so it will transfer. You can treat these like an alternative formula to their Srsly Satin Lipsticks that have full-coverage and a longer lasting formula.
Lip color is my least favorite type of makeup because you have to be so mindful of it during the day, especially when you eat and drink. I love to wear these lipsticks on days when I do not want to be mindful and really enjoy some good food. They are also great for a minimal makeup day, or for those who do not like to wear a lot of makeup in general. Sheer lipsticks have their time and place, and if you are in the market, I do recommend these and reach for them often.
