elf’s line of “bite size” makeup products is forever growing! It all started with the elf Bite Size Eyeshadow with a formula that really knocks you off your feet. Since then, they have expanded to eyebrows and cheek options with their Bite Size Face Duos. I have reviewed it all, and the lines really do work well. Next on the chopping block is elf Bite Size Lip Balm. I am swatching all of the shades, breaking down the claims, and doing a review to see if they really work. elf sure pushes out a lot of lip balms, and we all want to know what makes these “minis” so special.

Where to Buy elf Lip Balm

First, we will talk about where you can buy the elf lip balm. You can be sure that elf’s website has the full, four shade range. You might find all of the shades in store at Walmart, but they only have two online. The balms are $4 each.

elf Bite Size Lip Balm Claims

Second are the claims concerning elf Bite Size Lip Balm for dry lips. They should be moisturizing to provide you with smooth, soft lips. You can use these tinted balms alone or paired with another lip color. The sheer hint of color and shine is buildable. Finally, these minis are perfect for travel.

elf Bite Size Lip Balm Review

Last is my elf Bite Size Lip Balm review! I want to start by saying the travel friendly claim is silly to make. Every lip balm is 100% travel ready in size.

If you are seeking that trendy look of a lip with a sheer wash of color and some juicy shine, these are perfect for you! The tint is absolutely buildable, but will never be full coverage. Watermelon packs the most punch color-wise, where as Mint is clear, Coconut barely has anything going on, and Berry is somewhat there.

I want you to keep in mind that the packaging is rather bulky, meaning you will not get much precision on your lips. With a bright color like Watermelon, it becomes super noticeable if you do not stay within the lines of your natural lip. elf has used this packaging for sticks in the past that were intended to be applied to larger areas of the face.

The scents and flavors are decent, but I will say that Watermelon is artificial in a not as pleasant way. Ultimately, these do work in terms of moisturization, softening, tint, and shine. But, these balms are complete overkill. elf already offers Ride or Die Lip Balm, as well as Hydrating Core Lip Shine. I have reviewed each of those collections, and those are more sheer tint lip balms that give your lips some shine. These are not must-haves in your collection if you already own their other balms, or anything similar from other brands. I see these as a quick way to perpetuate the “bite size” lineup.

Conclusion

In conclusion of this elf Ride or Die Lip Balm review, the balms do work and meet their claims. However, they are nothing extraordinary in the makeup world, nor are they unique for the brand. If you decide to pick these up, you will not have any issues with them. One person only needs so many tinted lip balms, and the colors here are not even that nuanced. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.

How often do you reach for tinted lip balm?
