This guide on how to style neon colors will simply melt away your fears and reservations. Neon can work in your everyday life, and even at work, if you style it in a conscious way. I have also shopped similar pieces so that you can recreate my outfits for yourself.
Look #1: Festival bound neon
The first outfit in my how to style neon colors look book is perfect for festival season. Whether that means music, good food, a ferris wheel or two, this look has your back. This mesh neon shirt throws yellow, pink, and orange at you. I know that feels intimidating! That is why the other major elements of this look are white.
The shorts, sandals, and crossbody bring control to the outfit, while still letting the neon have its moment. Since the mesh is see through, some sort of cami, bralette, or bodysuit is needed, but I am opting for a neon yellow bodysuit as the shirt is primarily yellow. With all of the colors, this gives much creative freedom to play with accessories. Neon pink hoops and a few hair scrunchies are playful and feminine.

Bodysuit- Discreet from Ross
Sandals- Bongo from Kmart

Earrings- Claire’s
Hair scrunches- Five Below

Look #2: Neon orange appeal
My second outfit is great for running errands, shopping, going out to eat, and basically whatever. That is primarily why I am opting for a flat shoe, because your girl needs something she can walk in all day! Neon stripes are a completely safe way to dip your toe into the land of neon.
Of course, the hair scrunchie matches perfectly, but you can do without if all the color makes you nervous. I get so many summertime vibes from this outfit, making the straw handbag a natural pairing. Now, you might be curious about the rainbow earrings. Since rainbow goes with everything, I am using this opportunity to draw the orange out of the earrings. The other colors are a refreshing addition to this style.

Bodysuit- Gaze from TJMaxx

Look #3: Neon in the workplace
The neon green really pops against all the black. Clearly, I am taking the pinstripes to the extreme with them being on the pants and the shirt. I am tucking the shirt in so that the paper bag waist details on the pants do not get covered up. If you cannot wear a sleeveless shirt in the workplace, or maybe the temperature is not forgiving, try a blazer, cardigan, or leather number like I am. Finish off the look with hoops that are not too flashy, and a matching clutch.

Outfit details:
Blouse- E&M from Ross
Pants- Have from Ross
Jacket- Bagalette from TJMaxx
Shoes- rue21
Clutch- No Boundaries from Walmart
Earrings- No Boundaries from Walmart

I evidence how you can work neon into many situations, but you can control the complexity, and the intensity. How do you prefer to style neon? Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
