My last big shopping day of the year is the day after Christmas! It is the perfect time to spend your holiday cash on great sales and clearance gift sets. I always make sure to grab the gift sets that Santa did not get for me, as well as a few additional items that I have had my eyes on. This year I have some nice sets that surely will not disappoint you as part of my after Christmas 2016 haul. If you want to discover these fun beauty, nail, and fashion items with me, just keep reading!
Jewelry (all from Walmart)
I am starting my after Christmas 2016 haul with some jewelry! Here are some gold statement pieces from Walmart.

No Boundaries sherpa coat
Next up in my after Christmas 2016 haul I have some clothing. I am starting with this super fun sherpa coat that my co-workers and I have nicknamed “the rug,” but all joking aside I do have a good outfit planned for it!
Walgreens
Burgundy poncho
I never would have thought that I would buy clothes at Walgreens, but this poncho is a great layering piece full of style. Did I mention that I love burgundy?

Gold grommet shirt
Just as much as I love burgundy, I also have a thing for o-rings or grommets on everything. Here are two shirts overflowing with attitude.

wet n wild 1 Step Wonder Gels
Next up in my after Christmas 2016 haul is nail products. I am getting all of these 1 Step Wonder Gels on clearance at Walgreens! I am very excited to add them to my collection. These polishes provide superior shine, so much so that your nails look fake! The color payoff is amazing, making them almost one-coaters. However, do not be fooled by the 1 step claim. You must use your favorite base coat and top coat with these, or they will chip within the first few days of wear.
wet n wild Wildshine Nail Color in Nuclear War
This is yet another clearance polish from Walgreens! I really like the wildshine collection. They are standard polishes that last pretty well, and of course, are affordable.
Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Neon in Blueberry Burst
I love adding nail striping polishes to my collection, and this is my first dip into the Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art collection.
Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Stickers
These are just so cool that I have to pick them up! They are made with real fabric, providing a rich texture. I love the simplicity of nail strips and how nice they turn out. I am wondering how long these will last, considering they are called stickers. The instructions do say to seal the edges with a top coat, but I think the top coat will not adhere to the nail stickers, creating a yucky, peeling situation.
Sinful Colors
I am forever adding new shades of Sinful Colors to my collection, so I cannot not pass up these clearance shades.
Cherry Chree French Pressed Coffee set
There are a bunch of Cherry Chree makeup and nail kits in Walmart this Christmas, and I have never heard of the brand. So far I am enjoying the makeup I am able to buy. I am curious about the quality of this nail polish. I can confirm that the nail polish remover pads do smell like coffee. What is this magic?!
The Color Workshop Polished to Perfection set
I always buy these polish sets hoping to add new The Color Workshop shades to my collection. I think my days of buying these are coming to a close because I tend to get more duplicates than anything.
wet n wild megalast Nail Color
It is quite weird to see megalast in an ordinary bottle, but these shades are fierce. I really like how these polishes hold up, and the color payoff is rich after two coats. They also have a special manicurve brush, which I think all nail polishes should have. The brush is always soft and spreads the polish over the nail easily.
wet n wild megalast Nail Polish Collection
Are these great shades or what?! Furthermore, this entire set comes in a wet n wild metal bucket. These are mostly new shades for my collection.
Makeup
wet n wild Greatest Hits! Beauty Collection
Finally in the after Christmas 2016 haul is makeup. While the majority of these products are duplicates for me (which I will pass off), I really am buying this set to get the two eyeshadow palettes, and of course, the few things I do not already own. Also, this set comes in a large wet n wild makeup bag.
wildshine Nail Color
Mascara
I have used megaplump in the past and do not see much happening with my lashes. However, it was this sample size, and I do not think sample-size mascaras accurately depict how the mascara will apply and perform.
coloricon Brow & Eyeliner
The coloricon brow and eyeliner pencils are just standard eyeliner pencils.
Silk Finish Lipsticks
As I have said in the past, the silk finish lipsticks are standard lipsticks, but I really do like them and use them often. The color is buildable.
coloricon Eyeshadow Trios
These coloricon Eyeshadow Trios are really the stars of the show. I am thinking they have been discontinued because I do not recognize these shades. As to be expected, the pigmentation is great. I really love Knock On Wood the best.
wet n wild Eyeshadow & Glitter Singles
These are more super cheap clearance items to add to my singles collection. The glitter singles are pretty much Vaseline with glitter added. I really do not know what to use them for, but I figure they are good to have on hand. The eyeshadow singles can be incorporated into any eye look.
Maybelline Brows that Wow
All of the Maybelline sets coming up are half price, making them $4.94 a piece, which is such a steal if you price out the items individually. These are products that I already use and like. Starting with the Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara in Deep Brown, it does a decent job of holding my brow hairs in place. The Brow Define and Fill Duo in Deep Brown is an interesting product because it is double-ended. One end has a sponge dipped in brow powder, and the other end is a retractible pencil. I typically use up the pencil long before I run out of brow powder, but the product gets the job done.
Profusion Blush Kit
I have experience with these Profusion individual blushes, making adding more to my collection an easy choice. Sunkissed seems too dark to be a blush as it is more like a bronzer. Overall the swatches are not terrible, proving buildable pigmentation.
Cherry Chree Plastiquick Surgery
These highlighting and contour kits are actually pretty good, despite how cheap they look. Granted, the brush is awful, but the powders are highly pigmented and last all day, maybe even too pigmented. The first set looks scarily dark, but I actually really like how it defines my face. I apply these according to the pictorial directions. These sets are getting me into the multi-dimensional contouring look, by teaching me how to use two different contour shades. As you may note from my review, I have been using these prior to writing this post.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser and Rose Face Mask
Since I am shopping at Sephora during my birthday month I get to take part in my birthday gift. For December I have free samples of Fresh’s Soy Face Cleanser and Rose Face Mask. They both have a strong rose smell that I do not really like, and find rather disgusting. The mask looks really gross with a dark brown gel formula and chunks of something suspended in it (probably rose petals). Unfortunately the mask stays wet on the face and does not dry down.
wet n wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick
Woohoo! I am starting my wet n wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick collection. I plan on having all of the colors in due time. These are the same as the limited edition matte liquid lipsticks that have come out in the past, and I love them so much. The two colors I am picking are to die for and the formula dries down fully matte in a few minutes. Since these can feel drying on the lips I recommend pairing them with a lip primer and/or lip liner to tone down the dryness.
Maybelline Dream Cushion Liquid Foundation in Porcelain
It seems as though cushion products are going to be the trendy thing this year. I will say that the price of Maybelline’s Dream Cushion Liquid Foundation turns me off. The shade match is good for me and it applies well and looks nice on my skin. It is not the most long wearing foundation in my collection so I use it on days where I will not wear makeup all day. I dip my blending sponge right into the cushion. The formula is buildable to a medium or high-medium coverage that is somewhat dewy. I do not believe that it oxidizes on me. Below I have a blended out swatch.
Maybelline Be Sensational set
Here is another half price set. Lash Sensational Mascara is hands down my all-time favorite mascara! It provides big, bold lashes. The formula is the kind that takes a few weeks to hit its prime, as it starts out pretty wet. Moving onto the Expert Wear Eyeshadow in Natural Smokes, the pigmentation is poor and the colors are nothing special as we all have too many nudes hanging around. Finally, the Line Express Eyeliner is a basic, sharpenable eyeliner in black.
Maybelline Dare to Rock Nude set
For the half price I figure now is the time to try these newer palettes. Both the Rock Nudes and Nudes palettes have awful pigmentation and are such a disappointment. Even the shade ranges in the palettes is not very good in terms of variation. Save your money on these. Again, the basic eyeliner pencil comes in these sets.
Maybelline Dare to Go Nude set
Urban Decay Afterdark palette
Urban Decay’s Afterdark palette is a Sephora exclusive. As to be expected, all of these eyeshadows have excellent pigmentation with a smooth formula. I should have opened in this palette in the store before purchase, but since I did not, I am now finding the broken shadows after getting home. That is not preventing me from doing the swatches for you. The packaging is really pretty.
elf Chic Sixteen set
Here is an elf gift sit that contains four eyeshadow palettes. Each palette has somewhat decent pigmentation, but they are nothing to write home to. Maybe these will apply better with a brush, but the swatches are lackluster.
Flowerful by Flower Eyeshadow Palette
I am ending my after Christmas 2016 haul with a gift set from Flower featuring the Flowerful eyeshadow palette. The shade range appears to be good for daily use. I am swatching a selection rather than the entire palette, and the results are decent. Sadly, a lot of the palettes in this post leave something to be desired in terms of pigmentation. These are eyeshadows that you need to work to build up. At least the packaging is pretty.
Overall I am pleased with my after Christmas 2016 haul and I think I have found some killer products. Every haul is packed with gems and duds alike, which is evidenced here. What do you think of my haul? Do you have any of these items? My favorite may be the Afterdark palette. Let me know your thoughts the comments. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
