wet n wild New 2017 Products Haul

To me, the most exciting part of starting a new year is the new makeup! Many makeup brands release an army of new products at the beginning of each year, and wet n wild is no exception! I am super pumped to share this wet n wild new 2017 products haul! While it is just too expensive to buy every single product, I do have a pretty good representation of the new items to share. I will continue to collect the new products all year long. Stick around for all of the reviews, swatches, and more!

wet n wild megaglo Makeup Sticks

First from the wet n wild new 2017 products haul I have the megaglo Makeup Sticks. I must admit that I am not the world’s biggest fan of makeup sticks. I tend to be frightened of cream makeup products because they often are thick and drag on the skin, and never seem to set right. The swatches of these sticks are pretty impressive. They are all smooth and very easy to swatch. I find that they blend out nicely with my finger, and set once they are blended out. They all seem very pigmented! Look at that glow on the highlighter! The blush also has much glow. I think these will work great with a blending sponge.

wet n wild Megaslim Skinny Mascara

Second is the megaslim Skinny Mascara. It is definitely a fiber mascara, and is very black. The formula is very dry. I recommend using this with an eyelash primer, such as Loreal’s Voluminous Primer (wet n wild discontinued theirs) to get more bang for your buck in your makeup look. Otherwise it will look like you are not wearing any mascara. I have no plans to repurchase it. You can also use this mascara for your bottom lashes.

wet n wild Megaslim Skinny Tip Eyeliner

Third is the megaslim Skinny Tip Eyeliner. It is OK… it is not better than any other felt-tip liner that I have used, and is not a game-changer. It is very black and can easily achieve precise lines. One thing to note here is that the tip is unusually short. It may be difficult to maneuver if you are a beginner at eyeliner. I say spend the $5 at your own risk.

wet n wild perfectpout Gel Lip Liners

I am blown away by the formula of the perfectpout Gel Lip Liners! They swatch easily with no dragging at all. The colors are gorgeous, highly pigmented, and will surely pair well with a wide range of lip colors. I can see myself using these lip liners daily. Even the size of the tip is perfect.

wet n wild Mega Cushion Contour and Highlight

Fourth are the Mega Cushion Contour and Highlight which I really like so far! They blend out easily, and the packaging is adorable. I dip my blending sponge right into the product, rather than use the awful pad sponge thing they come with. I wonder how long they will last before they dry up or just run out. Below I am including a bunch of photos so you can see how the packaging operates.

wet n wild Mega Cushion Soft Matte Lip Cream in Doll So Hard

My major turn-off with the Mega Cushion Soft Matte Lip Cream is that I have to squeeze it incredibly hard to get the product to dispense. I have actually purchased another color since getting this one and the problem persists. The cushion applicator is quite interesting, but I am doubtful that you can get a lot of precision while applying it. Other than that it quickly dries to a completely matte finish with lots of pigment.

wet n wild megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks

I am excited that wet n wild is now putting their matte liquid lipsticks into their permanent line! The megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks dry down to be fully matte in a few minutes and are highly pigmented. While they do feel a bit drying on the lips, that does not bother me and you can make these more comfortable with a lip liner or a lip primer. This collection comes in a range of to die for colors. Seriously, they are all perfection. I plan on collecting them all over time.

wet n wild photofocus Foundation in Nude Ivory

The photofocus Foundation comes in 20 shades, and Nude Ivory is my shade match. So far I am obsessed with this foundation and I am using it every day! It is a full-coverage, matte foundation that is buildable, but be careful to not go too crazy or you might look cakey. Finding the right balance is key to looking beautiful with this foundation for a skin-like finish. It also does a good job of controlling the oils in my t-zone, with only my nose looking a bit oily at the end of the day, but there is no product that fixes my nose. You need to apply this foundation section by section on your face because it dries quickly. I slather it on right from the spatula applicator and blend it out with a sponge.

wet n wild photofocus Pressed Powder in Warm Light

Next is the photofocus Pressed Powder, and Warm Light is my shade match. I believe this powder truly helps the foundation work well, as described above. This is the only powder that I use with the foundation. Some people complain that it makes your skin look dry, but it works great for me. I have oily areas and normal areas and it still looks fine. The powder is very soft and creamy.

wet n wild photofocus Concealer in Light Ivory

The last item from the wet n wild new 2017 products haul is the photofocus Concealer. Light Ivory is the lightest shade that the concealer is available in, but it is just not light enough in my opinion. I use concealers to brighten my under eye area, but this one is not light enough compared to the foundation. It has a standard doe-foot applicator. Some people complain that this concealer is too matte and even looks dry on the skin. I have normal skin under my eyes and do not have any problems with this concealer. In fact, it is super creamy and looks skin-like on me with buildable medium to full coverage.
