Walmart has a new brand for sale, but the company has actually been around since 2006. My store is carrying an assortment of Carter Beauty Cosmetics items, so I thought it would be fun to do a Carter Beauty review. Please note that I am not buying everything, rather, a select variety of what is available. Besides what I purchased, they had more lipstick shades and eyeshadow palettes, as well as lip stains and a mascara. If you look online there is so much more. For everything that I have I am doing full reviews along with swatches and star ratings. At the end of the post I have a drugstore makeup look featuring these Carter Beauty finds.

Where to Buy Carter Beauty

Carter Beauty is a new brand to Walmart, and you can find it in select stores and online. Carter Beauty Cosmetics also has a Carter Beauty USA online store.

Packaging

Before I get into the Carter Beauty reviews, I want to take a moment to remark on the packaging of the palettes. They come in a cardboard slip that is encased in clear plastic wrap. You are not able to see what the product actually looks like until you buy it and bring it home. That is highly unusual for makeup. An alternative is to look the product up online before you purchase.

Carter Beauty Apollo Bronzer Palette

The first item in this Carter Beauty review is the Apollo Bronzer Palette. On first glance the shades seem very dark. I am glad to report that the pigment is buildable, and even I can get away with these shades on my fair skin. None of them are orange or muddy. All of the shades are matte, with Spark having a gold shimmer. I really appreciate buildable pigment because we all have one palette with strong pigment and we forget and over do it. Although, I feel the quality is not fully there, which is another reason for this. This feeling carries on to the other items.

Claims: This bronzer palette provides a sun-kissed look all year round, and you can blend the shades for maximum impact. Each shade is highly pigmented and easy to blend with instant color to add depth.

Rating: ★★★★☆

Carter Beauty Cupid Blush Palette

Second is the Cupid Blush Palette. It also features a buildable pigment like the bronzer palette. With this palette specifically, the powders are dusty and I can see them flying around in application. Three of the shades are matte, and Obsession is a shimmer. All of these shades can be made to work on fair skin. Otherwise, I want to appreciate the fact that this is an actual blush palette. They are becoming more rare at the drugstore, and my mom loves palettes. She is a blush queen and I would definitely buy another of these for her and watch her hit pan.

Claims: This blush palette provides a flush of natural color. It should be highly pigmented and easily blendable.

Carter Beauty Sweet Apricot 18 Shade Palette

Third is the Sweet Apricot 18 Shade Palette. My first point is the shade range. The only true apricot shade is Marmalade. The rest of the palette contains nudes that are more so apricot inspired, but I envisioned more orange hues.

My second point is the pigmentation. Some shades are good, but others are not. I was really disappointed with Brownie and Reese. They look so dark in the pan, but they barely show on the eyes. At least the shimmer shades are decent.

All of the eyeshadows are velvety smooth with little to no fall out, but you will definitely get kick up in the pan.

This Carter Beauty eyeshadow palette is best for daytime. You will not get a good night look with it. While I am not pleased with the quality and pigmentation, palettes like these have their time and place. This palette is great for work or school, as well as for those who like lighter eyeshadow looks.

I also want to note that Percy is pretty much a match for my skin tone which is why it does not show up.

Claims: This palette offers an array of highly pigmented, easily blendable matte and shimmer shades.

Carter Beauty Word of Mouth Matte Lipstick in Adele

The last item in this Carter Beauty review is the Word of Mouth Lipstick in Adele. Adele is best described as a vibrant, natural nude pink. It is definitely matte, but it feels good on the lips. The formula is full coverage and vibrant. It will do ok with careful eating and drinking. Really and truly I feel that this is standard drugstore lipstick that you can get from plenty of brands. It is not special, nor is it a standout.

Claims: This lipstick has a vibrant, velvet matte finish designed to offer stay-all-day wear.

Rating: ★★★★☆

Per my Carter Beauty review, these products are middle of the road for the drugstore. The pigmentation of the powders are light, and the lipstick is average. Ultimately, the products are not the best, nor are they the worst.

Makeup Look

The last part of this Carter Beauty review is a drugstore makeup look featuring all of the items in this post. Since this post is all about Carter Beauty Walmart finds, you should be able to find all of the products in this makeup look in Walmart stores or online.

On the face I mixed the bronzer shades Spark and Tinder, as well as the blush shades Devotion and Infatuation. Here are all of the products used:

To recreate the eye look, start by setting the eyelid with Sugar. Next, apply Marmalade to the crease, and bring it down below the eye. Then, apply the Nyx Glitter Primer onto the eyelid, and layer BB on top of it. Now, apply Brownie to the outer-v and deepen it with Reese. Also apply Brownie to the lower lash line. Reese should be used to connect the outer-v to the lower lash line, but not all the way across. Finish the look by highlighting the brow bone and inner corner with Lolly.

Conclusion

In conclusion of this Carter Beauty review, this brand is middle of the road for the drugstore. My favorite brands like elf Cosmetics and wet n wild offer products that work just a bit better than these. While these items will not be making their way into my list of drugstore hidden gems anytime soon, they might be great for you depending on your preferences. Carter Beauty Cosmetics makes plenty of items above and beyond what is featured in this post, but I recommend using these reviews as a guide moving forward. I for one might not try another eyeshadow palette. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
