When my local Rite Aid started their clearance closing sale, I went in the same day hoping to score some makeup. The Kokie Cosmetics display was pretty much wiped out! Could that be a testament to how good the brand is? I got everything that I could to test, trying to get as close to a full face as possible. I am swatching and reviewing everything to find out if this brand is worth it. There are some definite hits and misses to know about!

Kokie Cosmetics Review
I want to explain where to buy Kokie Cosmetics. As I mentioned in the intro, I got these items from Rite Aid. They are also on Amazon, Walmart, and Sally Beauty, besides Kokie’s website. The prices are fair for the drugstore, nothing too out of the ordinary.

Perfecting Poreless Primer
First in this Kokie Cosmetics review is the Perfecting Poreless Primer. I dip my finger into this primer and swirl, trying to warm it up and also pick up a good amount for application. The formula is so thin it feels like I am hardly picking up or applying any, so I cannot tell if I am getting an even application on the face. By concentrating it more on the nose I can see the product, and it attempts to fill some pores, but ultimately falls short. Makeup applies normally over top. It does not help or hurt wear time, and it will let oils through.

Smooth Glow Hydrating Primer
Second for Kokie makeup is the Smooth Glow Hydrating Primer. The smell of roses hits you in the face immediately, and perhaps some zesty essential oils. This primer hydrates the skin to give you a healthy glow, but there is no glitter or shimmer. Makeup applies normally over top. Natural wear and tear occurs, so I do not think this one extends or hurts wear time either. I also see my natural oils poking through on the t-zone.

Be Bright Illuminating Concealer
Third for Kokie Professional is their Be Bright Illuminating Concealer. I have the Peach color corrector. The shade is the darkest out of all the peach concealers I have ever tried. That is curious, as peach is made for fair skin. I would not be able to wear it alone, even blended out. Light is a beautiful shade, perfect for highlighting key points of the face. I find that they are creamy with medium coverage and blend into the skin well. They have a fresh, natural finish, maybe slightly dewy. I guess satin is the best explanation.

Skin Perfect HD Foundation in 20W
Fourth for Kokie Beauty is the Skin Perfect HD Foundation in 20W. The formula is very thick, and it makes you expect a heavy, full-coverage, super matte finish. But, this foundation is super lightweight! It has buildable medium to high medium coverage with a natural finish – it is close to matte, but definitely not dewy. It is so skin-like and natural. This is a true no-fuss foundation. It holds up pretty well during the day too – only natural wear and tear and some shine in the t-zone, but it does not break down. Honestly, I have been using it daily as my go-to and I am fully surprised. I would not go so far to say it is a special occasion foundation for me, but it is a good daily pick for work and play.

Brow Pomade Gel in Dark Brunette
Fifth is the Kokie Cosmetics Brow Pomade Gel in Dark Brunette. The shade is right on for me! The formula is super creamy, and it has the right amount of pigmentation. It is not waxy, but still has a hint of grip. You can see how soft and diffused it is in the swatch below, making it excellent for creating hair-like strokes. I perfer to pair it with a brow gel/mascara for more hold.

Matte Bronzer in Stay Golden
Next for Kokie Cosmetics is the Matte Bronzer in Stay Golden. This is the only shade option that I had, and it is too orange in tone. Sad, because the formula is just fine. It is easy to blend, is not muddy, and is soft. I love the generous size of the pan and it holds up all day.

Soft Radiant Blush
Here are three shades of Kokie Cosmetics Soft Radiant Blush. I made sure to mention these as a part of best beauty products 2023! Besides the fact that the pans are beautiful, you should not be scared by the bright colors. This blush easy to build and to blend. You can blend all of the shades, or grab them individually. They last all day with the right amount of pigemntation. You can make them a “serious flush” if you really want to.

Fix It Up Matte Setting Spray
This is the Kokie Fix It Up Matte Setting Spray. It has a fine mist, and it does successfully set makeup with a matte finish. It reminds me a lot elf’s setting sprays in the black bottles! I do not find that it extends makeup wear time, but it is nice for general daily use.

Artist Palette in Goddess
Continuing on, this is the Kokie Artist Palette in Goddess. This palette is packed with pigment, and it really surprised me! Everything is easy to blend and to build. The eyeshadows are never powdery or patchy. The metallics are simply stunning. Definitely do not sleep on Kokie eyeshadows and I am excited to try more!

Crystal Fusion Liquid Eyeshadow in Cosmos
Next for Kokie Cosmetics is the Crystal Fusion Liquid Eyeshadow in Cosmos. This liquid eyeshadow really pops on the eye. You get enough time to work with it before it dries down. It lasts all day without creasing, fading, or movement. You can wear it as is, or pair it with powder eyeshadows. This one is a winner!

Kissable Liquid Lipstick in Mad About Mauve
This is the Kokie Kissable Liquid Lipstick in Mad About Mauve. The product is smooth and lightweight. You get full coverage in one swipe, and it dries down to be fully matte in minutes. It feels flexible on the lips. As your day rolls on, it starts to feel sticky. I can see areas where it looks like it wears off in chunks. I have another matte lip coming up that is much better.

Duo Metallic Shadows in Haze
Here is the Kokie Duo Metallic Shadows in Haze. This is a true case of trial and error! The first time that I applied it, I put it over my everyday eyeshadow primer that is trusted. I applied the cream on the eyelid, and blended it into the crease. Then, I applied the loose pigment over the cream. It creased. For my next trial, I used Nyx Glitter Primer on the eyelid only. I applied the cream on the eyelid only and did not blend it into the crease. I finished with the loose pigment over the cream. That time it worked!
Haze is such a beautiful shade, so I really wanted to make this duo work. It is the perfect champagne that gives you the celebrity look. The swatches do not do it justice. Both formulas are incredibly shiny. I love the two-level packaging and it even includes a mirror. You need to keep in mind that the cream does not dry down, even when you ‘set it’ with the loose pigment. As long as you use them strictly on the eyelid, and include a sticky glitter primer, you are good to go. I want all of the colors.
Rating: ★★★★★
Lip Poudre Liquid Matte Powder in Infamous
Last is the Kokie Lip Poudre Liquid Matte Powder in Infamous. The formula reminds me a lot of the Kissable one above, but it is the clear winner. It applies with full coverage in one swipe, dries down fully matte, and is lightweight and comfortable to wear. It does not crumble off, and there is minimal to no transfer.

- Kokie Be Bright Illuminating Concealer in Peach and Light
- Kokie Skin Perfect HD Foundation in 20W
- Kokie Brow Pomade Gel in Dark Brunette

To recreate the eye look, start by applying Aphrodite in the crease. Next, to deepen the crease, apply Worship a bit lower than Aphrodite. Then, apply Immortal onto the outer and inner part of the eyelid, leaving a blank space in the middle. In the blank space, apply the Crystal Fusion Liquid Eyeshadow in Cosmos. Now, apply Muse along the lower lash line. Apply Immortal at the outer corner of the lower lash line to connect it to the eyelid. Finish the look by highlighting the brow bone and inner corner with Riches.

Conclusion
In summary of this Kokie Cosmetics review, this is not a bad brand at all. I was blown away by the foundation and the eyeshadow palette, which I did not see coming. The duo eyeshadow is also a new favorite. I would definitely try more from this brand, and the prices are right. This review goes hand-in-hand with my Doll Face Beauty review, which is another display that I raided at Rite Aid. At this point, I like Kokie better than Doll Face. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
