A question that I am asked constantly is whether or not I work from home. My job is permanently work from home forever and always, so the answer is yes. To be completely honest, I do not wear makeup in favor of extra sleep. But, I know that working from home is a major part of everyone’s lives right now, and many of us are seeking a solid work from home makeup routine. This got me thinking, so I am digging through my collection to create a routine for you to emulate.
In my mind, the best work from home makeup routine is cheap, lightweight, natural, and easy to pull off. All of these product selections are from the drugstore, and promote these points. If you need to be on webcam at all during your work day, you will look so fresh and pretty. Some of these steps you may want to skip entirely. If you prefer to skip the mascara, foundation, or whatever, that is your call. Your routine is yours to perfect, but I want to be diligent in making recommendations in all areas. Time to begin.
Work from Home Makeup Routine
1) Prime, set, powder
I am starting this work from home makeup routine with some options to prime, set, and powder the skin.
- wet n wild photofocus Rose 3-in-1 Primer Water: wet n wild has three different scents to choose from for their 3-in-1 primer waters, but these are great because they are multi-purpose. You can use them as primer, setting spray, and for a refresher later. That will save you vanity space and cash. These are great for everyday use.
- wet n wild photofocus Translucent Loose Setting Powder: This powder is perfect for setting the entire face and for baking. The results are always smooth and never cakey, nor will your foundation or concealer be sticky. Overall, this is a great drugstore option for whatever you need.
2) Foundation and concealer
Next, I have some foundation and concealer options.
- wet n wild photofocus Stick Foundation: This stick foundation is super easy to work with, and you can build it up to your desired level of coverage. It is not heavy, but it really looks fresh and flawless on the skin.
- elf Flawless Concealer: This concealer provides a light to medium coverage with a creamy, lightweight formula. It is a perfect alternative to a heavy, full-coverage concealer.

3) Blush and bronzer
Here are some blush and bronzer recommendations.
- Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer: I frequently recommend the Butter line because the products literally blend themselves. With this bronzer in particular, you can build it up to your desired intensity, but this excellent formula makes it difficult to be too heavy-handed or to overdo it.
- Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush: I can recommend many varieties of blush, but I think this one is particularly great because of the name and how pretty the pan is. It is sure to get you in a good mood to begin your work day. Of course, the color is great for daily wear, and you can build the pigment up to avoid a clown face.

4) Highlighter
No matter your taste in highlighter, I have a palette that provides options for all.
- elf Glow Gleam Beam Highlighter Palette: This highlighter palette makes the cut because of the options that it contains. There are three types of highlighters in it, which are glitters, shimmers, and metallics. You can also blend some shades together for a custom look. Ultimately, with this palette you control your glow. If you love to be blinding like I do, then you can achieve that. But, if you like a subtle glow, then you can rock that, too.
5) Eyeshadow
Next up is an eyeshadow option for your work from home makeup routine.
- Milani Soft & Sultry Eyeshadow Palette: There are a million and one neutral eyeshadow palettes from the drugstore that I can select here, so in some ways I am settling with this option. But, I like this palette because it contains enough options, while not overwhelming. You can easily create looks that are soft and simple, all the way to smokey and dramatic. I also appreciate the options available for the crease and to set the eyelid. These Milani palettes are great for your collection in general for a quality drugstore eyeshadow palette.

6) Eyeliner, mascara, brows
- Essence Make Me Brow: I envision work from home makeup as something that should be simple and fast, so you probably do not want to spend ages perfecting your brows. Make Me Brow is a great (and super affordable option) to add some tint and hold in seconds.
- Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara: I like a good mascara that is lengthening, volumizing, and otherwise dramatic, which you can definitely achieve with this mascara. It will look great on webcam, but it will not cost you much at all.
- Maybelline Master Precise All Day Liquid Liner: I have gone through so many of these eyeliners, and I appreciate it because the tip makes it super easy for you to control the size of the line. With as much experience as I have, I still end up with way more eyeliner than I want most days. But, I can get a really fine line with this, if I want. Also, the felt tip does not get weak.
7) Lips
I am ending the work from home makeup routine with a lip option.
- Nyx Plush Gel Lipstick: This lipstick line will provide a sheer to medium wash of color that feels lightweight and moisturizing on the lips. You can even skip the lip liner with this option. It has a shiny finish.
Conclusion
We are at the end of this work from home makeup routine. All of these items are drugstore and are highly affordable! They promote a routine that is fast, easy, and lightweight, but will also leave you looking fresh and radiant on webcam. You can play around with this routine to customize it to your tastes. If eyeliner is not your thing, then scrap it. If you need to have a lip liner, then add one in. Ultimately, your routine should be one that makes you feel beautiful and confident. In some ways, applying makeup is therapeutic, and it is sure to make your workday just a tad bit jollier. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.

That Milani palette looks absolutely stunning! I thought it was a Tarte palette for a second. I love the neutral tones in it. The blush looks so cute with the hearts!

That is true, the Milani palettes do resemble Tarte palettes, which never occurred to me!
Love how you covered every aspect of work-at-home makeup! These are really nice choices and personally I can’t leave with prime and highlighter. Sometimes I just apply these two to get a natural glowing face. I have never tried Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush but it looks beautiful and going to check it out.
Thank you for a very informative writing.
