I got my hands on the entire wet n wild Fast Dry AF Nail Color line, so I am going to give you all the works. Besides reviews, I have swatches, claims, purchase options, and more excellent content.

Details & Claims

I will begin with where to buy the polishes. You can find all of the shades on wet n wild’s website, and also from Amazon, Rite Aid, and Walmart.

You get 13.5 mL or 0.46 fl oz of product in 18 shades for $4.29 each.

These nail polishes were released too late to be included in wet n wild’s new 2021 products. The official release date info is March 2021 for Dollar General, HEB, Five Below, and CVS, which should all be in-store only shopping options.

These nail polishes claim to dry in 30 seconds if you read online, or 40 seconds on the bottle. They should have a five day wear time thanks to a built-in base and top coat for brillaint shine.

They contain calcium-rich ingredients to strengthen and prorect your natural nauls. The color is super-fluid for smooth application and one coat full coverage. They are formulated without toluene, formaldehyde, camphor, or any other known noxious ingredients

Swatches & Shades

It is time for swatches and descriptions of each shade! This is the first time that I am using actual nail polish swatch sticks. Shade names are from left to right.

Review

There are 18 shades, one of which being a clear top coat. I can tell by assessing the shade range that these are meant to be fully brand new shades. It is not a new concept to get, for example, a red or a black nail polish from wet n wild, but generally speaking, everything is new.

These nail polishes feature wet n wild’s signature Manicurve brush. Manicurve is a soft and flat brush that spreads over the nail for even, streak-free application. I am a huge fan of this brush!

These cream nail polishes have so much pigmentation that you can nearly get away with one coat, but I still prefer two coats.

I do not find that these dry down to be fully not smudegeable in 30 or even 40 seconds. However, they do reach that state around three to five minutes. While that does mean they do not meet the speed claim, I am not mad about this. It seems like all of my nail polishes stay stacky and smudgeable until I ultimately add a fast drying top coat, so three to five minutes for a bullet-proof nail impresses me.

Since I do my nails right before bed, I need my nails to be fully dry so that I do not wake up with creases from the bed sheets in my nails. These polishes please me because I do not get creases.

I will take a moment here to remind you about my Nail Care Routine. I follow those steps each time that I do my nails, which is the key to how I make my nail polish last for seven days without chips. Be sure to check out that tutorial, and bare in mind I am following it as I review these polishes.

In application, I find that these do apply smoothly without streaks. They are highly shiny with or without the topcoat. The topcoat does meet my standards of prolonging nail polish wear while also being thick enough to correct imperfections and also add shine. It is probably the closest equivalent to their discontinued Hard as Ice topcoat. As I have mentioned, with proper care following my routine you can achieve five day wear, and most likely seven day wear.

Stamp Test

Shout-out to reader Wren Carter who commented about wanting to know how well these polishes stamp. I would not have thought about doing that on my own. So, I went ahead and gave stamping a try with Throwing Shade. Sadly, these polishes will not work for stamping. The formula is thick in a good way, but not thick enough for stamping. The polish does not pick up on the stamper.

Fast Dry Nail Color vs. Fast Dry AF Nail Color

You might be sitting there saying hey, these nail polishes are super familiar! wet n wild’s Fast Dry Nail Color line has been around for several years. The Fast Dry AF Nail Color line is definitely a spinoff of the old. The bottles are incredibly similar, and they both hold the same amount of product (.46 fl oz) featuring the Manicurve brush. However, the Fast Dry Nail Color does not really have any claims beyond drying in 60 seconds.

I did a comparison of the ingredients. The core ingredients needed to make nail polish in general is the same, but ultimately, they do have different formulations. It is hard to really compare the two formulations because different nail polish shades often require unique ingredients.

Ultimately, if you like their original Fast Dry Nail Polish, or really any of their polishes, you will like these.

Shop The Polishes

These nail polishes are a great addition to any collection, despite the fact that they do not hit the 30/40 second claim. I know that I will be wearing these shades over the course of the year. Which shade is your favorite? Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
