wet n wild officially broke the internet when they first introduced their line of highlighting powders. What once started as limited edition exploded into a permanent line. Here I am doing wet n wild megaglo Highlighting Powder swatches of all of the current shades, along with a detailed review. By the end you will know exactly which shades work perfect for you.

Details & Claims

I will begin with where to buy the highlighters. Most retailers that carry the brand will offer the top selling shades in store, while all shades are available online. You can find them on wet n wild’s website, as well as on Amazon, Ulta, Target, and Walmart. With inflation the prices definitely now vary between $5-7, and you will see that I include them in my roundup of (what was) the best makeup under $5 from the drugstore.

These highlighters claim to have an ultra-pearly finish that should be easy to blend. Everything should be silky-smooth and highly-pigmented. They are designed to bring a natural, luminous glow to your skin as they are infused with pearl pigments.

They are packaged in a square pan that does not contain a mirror. There are five shades, but they do sometimes release limited edition shades and palettes.

You are to apply them to the high points of your face, such as the cheek bones, brow bone, and cupid’s bow with your favorite highlighting brush.

There are no true key ingredients callouts for this highlighter outside of micro-fine pearl pigment. Below is the full ingredient list.

Swatches & Shades

Below you can see swatches and the shade names for all highlighters. Precious Petals is my favorite is a mixture of a slightly gold highlight and one that is more pearly white.

Blossom Glow is my favorite shade out of the bunch. It is not white, but more of a pearly, off-white color that has some light gold and pink in it. I really tend to gravitate toward lighter, whiter highlights. I just know that when I put it on my cheek I am going to be like “girrrrlll.” Best of all, it is excellent on fair skin and good for daily use. No striping on the face ever!

Review

When people review highlighters they tend to mention whether or not they emphasize texture on the skin where applied. I do not feel as though I have any texture where I apply my highlighters, so that is not a problem for me. It is possible that these will emphasize texture for you if you have an issue with that. Makeup works differently for everyone. What works for me may not work for you, and vice versa. I also do not think that these look like a colored stripe on my face, which is another common highlighter problem.

These are hands down the best powder highlighters at the drugstore, and at $7 you really cannot go wrong. They even kick butt against some high-end highlighters. You can see more about them in my roundup list of the best wet n wild products of all time.

Next, the formula is very soft and buttery, making application a dream. I also enjoy the sleek packaging and the flower design impressed into the powder.

Finally, these highlighters are so glam. I prefer bright, in your face highlights, as opposed to natural highlights. You can build these up to your desired intensity.
