Most women will agree that they enjoy getting a salon blowout at home if it is easy and rather inexpensive. The market is flooded with hot tools that claim to do this, and even Revlon offers several options. Before they shook the world with their one-step blowdryer, they graced us with the Revlon Perfect Style Hot Air Kit. In this review I will give you all of the claims and details, along with a hair look and how it compares to its predecessor.

Where To Buy The Revlon All-in-One Style Hot Air Kit

I will start with where you can buy the Revlon Perfect Style Hot Air Brush Kit. This is a bit harder to find because it is “older.” I got mine on Amazon during one of their Prime Day sales, and you can also get it at Target and Walmart.

You might notice that there are two different versions of the Revlon 2-in-1 Hot Air Brush, one with a black handle, and one with red. Black is the first version, which is what I have. People complain about the placements of the vents on the ‘new and improved’ red version, stating that they blow your hair around. The other differences is that the red one comes with a blow dry nozzle and has a light for the curl release button.

Revlon 2-in-1 Hot Air Brush Claims

Second, let’s talk about what the Revlon Perfect Style Hot Air Brush is supposed to accomplish. It uses ionic technology to smooth your hair for less frizz, and a shiny healthy look. The brush barrels are coated with ceramic, which helps with heat distribution and minimizes damage. The tool features a curl release button, with allows the barrel to pivot slightly to prevent tangling. Please note, this tool does not rotate.

The device itself features three temperature settings, which are high, low, and cool. You receive two barrels in this kit that are easy to switch out by pulling them off. The sizes are one inch and one and a half inches. Revlon does note that your hair should be towel dried before styling, as it will struggle to fully dry sopping wet hair. Since this is version one, it does not come with a blow dry nozzle attachment.

Revlon Hot Air Styler Review

Now it is time for my Revlon hot air styler review! This comment applies to virtually all hot styling tools, but you should use it on hair that is 80% dry for best results. Also, you should section your hair and work with one inch sections.

This tool is incredibly lightweight, to the point where some reviewers consider it to feel “cheap.” The air vents did blow my hair around a bit, but ultimately that did not cause me any problems. I never smelled burning hair or suspected any damage, nor does this product rip out my hair. The heads are very easy to change, and they lock sturdily into place.

Whenever I see a product like the Revlon Perfect Style Hot Air Kit, I immediately worry that it will make my frizzy hair worse, and that my hair will tangle into the tool. That was not an issue! I will say that when I tried to make actual curls by wrapping my hair tighter around the tool, my hair started to tangle. All I did was start unwrapping and my hair was freed. I did not feel compelled to use the curl release button for this reason.

When it comes down to it, the results that the Revlon All-in-One Style Hot Air Kit yields is incredibly similar to what you will see in my Revlon One Step Blowdryer review section from my top hair styling tools for fine hair blog post. This tool accomplishes the job of giving you a blowout effect at home with volume and curled ends. It combines a round brush and a blowdryer into one. This is also cost effective! But, it definitely comes with a learning curve. You will see in my look below that my hair is styled, but something is left to be desired. I did watch a video of someone getting pretty curls with this, but I stink at styling hair, and more practice is needed. Overall, I like the look that I get with the Revlon One Step Blowdryer better, but I would use this tool again.

Conclusion

In summary of this Revlon Perfect Style Hot Air Kit review, this tool meets its claims and performs as intended. As long as you are ok with the concept of practice makes perfect, you can make this tool work! I really appreciate that it has a lower price point than other similar tools. Besides that, it is lightweight and combines a round brush and a blowdryer which helps those that struggle to use those items due to health issues. However, if your budget allows, you should opt for the One Step Blowdryer, but keep in mind that only this one can provide actual curls when used correctly. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
