I know what you are thinking. When I reviewed the Box of Style Spring 2020 box I said that was a one time only thing because I got a good deal. Here I am with a Box of Style Summer 2020 review, but allow me to defend myself! The deal I am getting on this box is even better than last time, if you can believe it! Their coupon codes typically only apply to first time buyers, and come at $25 off. For the 4th of July they had a special with $35 off, and I can use it despite having purchased in the past. This box is normally $99, but with the promotion I am paying $64.99. Oh, did I mention the total value of the products inside are $592?! I still do not plan on subscribing in the future, but if I can keep finding deals then I may individually buy boxes and continue to share them.

In this review we are going to unbox everything together, including how to use these products and the benefits. I am sharing the retail prices of everything, as well as buying options if something catches your eye. Keep in mind that the fashion/accessories are specifically curated for this box, so you have to go through resale outlets like eBay/Poshmark/Mercari to buy those.

If you are not familiar with the Box of Style, it is a high-end, quarterly subscription box curated by fashion designer Rachel Zoe. Each Box of Style includes a full color informational booklet on the products inside. Time to get started.

The Box

Before I get into the Box of Style Summer 2020 review, I like to share what the box looks like to provide that feeling of unboxing right along with me. The lid explains how the reduced packaging is sustainable, and once you remove all of the products, the bottom says “Hello Gorgeous.”

Kosas Color & Light Palette, Tropic Equinox, $34

The first item in this Box of Style Summer 2020 review is a Color & Light Palette in Tropic Equinox by Kosas. It features a cream blush and highlighter duo that is perfect for giving you a natural, glowing makeup look. The formulation is ultra soft, creamy, and blendable, as Kosas states you can apply this product with your fingers. Per my swatching, I can definitely attest to these claims. Of course, you can always use a brush for application as well. I recommend your favorite stippling brush. This product can be applied over makeup or onto bare skin. Tropic Equinox is described as a bronze blush.

Panacea Beaded Tassel Earrings, $55

Second are beaded tassel earrings from Panacea. Rachel is selecting these as a refreshing alternative to black or metallic jewelry. They make their own statement and really do upgrade any outfit. Beads scream summer for sure, and you can rock these by the pool, out to dinner, or just because.

Grown Alchemist Hydra-Repair Day Cream, $49

Third is Grown Alchemist’s Hydra-Repair Day Cream. This is a moisturizer that claims to nourish the skin and improve hydration without being greasy or leaving an oily residue on the skin. It should also smooth and soothe. The ingredients include no dyes or fragrance, making it suitable for all skin types and sensitivities. It is a white cream that can be worn alone or under makeup. The directions state to apply a pea-size amount as the final step in your skincare routine by directly massaging the cream in upwards motions. You can also press the cream into the skin.

Peter Som Dream Floral Print Sarong, Meteorite, $195

Fourth is Peter Som’s Dream Floral Print Sarong in Meteorite. There is another option in a pink/red/white design, but I am drawn to black. Rachel actually is working with Peter to bring back this classic sarong with these updated colors and prints. You can use a sarong for so many purposes, so you will definitely be seeing this here on the blog again! This one is a bit on the thinner side, so you will want to layer it over something else. I am providing an up-close shot of the print, and another on my mannequin to show off the fringe details.

Danielle Nicole Macrame Handbag, $100

Fifth is the free gift that I am selecting, which is the Danielle Nicole Macrame handbag. My other options are a beach towel or a makeup bag that matches the weekender tote coming up next. I will get the most use out of this handbag, hence my choice. It features oval wooden handles and a shoulder strap, but you can easily tuck the strap into the bag if you prefer to use the handles. There is no zipper or snap closure to keep items secure. It is roomy enough to carry most items, which for me include my wallet, phone, glasses, and keys. I have a close-up shot to show you the wonderful crochet details which are perfect for summer. Also, say hi to my bare foot that is photobombing the last picture of this bag!

Henny + Lev Canvas Weekender, $159

The last item in this Box of Style Summer 2020 review is the Henny + Lev Canvas Weekender. It features a roomy interior with a zipper pocket and two open pockets. There is also a removable strap, id card holder, and separate zipper pouch. The materials are canvas with a soft, vegan leather. Rachel loves this bag because of the classic silhouette and the color scheme makes it a timeless wardrobe staple for seasons to come. I will definitely use this for small weekend hotel trips, and I am pleased with the size. I must admit that this bag has a smell that I do not like but I am not sure what it is.

Conclusion

In summary of this Box of Style Summer 2020 review, I am blown away by the price I am paying versus the retail value of the products provided. I love a good deal just as much as the next girl, and these pieces are top notch. My favorites are the macrame handbag and earrings, but I know that I will use everything included. Of course, I am curious about the moisturizer and to try out my first ever product from the brand Kosas. Be sure to let me know in the comments if you subscribe to the Box of Style and if you would like to see more of these in the future. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.

  1. What a great deal you got on this box! I have considered subscribing to the UK equivalent of a beauty box for the longest time but haven’t done it. I might just have to go sign up 🙂
    Love your posts!

    1. Thanks! The biggest thing for me with a subscription is the price, for sure. I refuse to subscribe to this one but I will subscribe/unsubscribe to buy a single box

    1. Me too! I’ve been looking for a pair of earrings like that, and I ended up for settling for something I don’t like as much. Now I have these lol. The cream is really nice but then again I never use creams I’m horrible haha
