These oils offer a sheer wash of color, but, elf has a minty scent with no sensation while wet n wild is mint and vanilla with a cooling sensation. You can wear any of these oils alone or layered over lip color.

The ingredients are quite different. elf offers five key oils which are squalane, apricot oil, avocoado oil, jojoba oil, and pomegranate oil. wet n wild gives us seven key oils which are cherry oil, marula oil, cameillia oil, joboba oil, avocado oil, raspberry seed oil, and blueberry oil.

Comparison Review

I have already tested both elf and wet n wild separately. Plus, I have been reviewing these brands for my entire career. The only thing that I cannot decide on is the shine. Maybe I am thinking about it too hard… I think elf might be a smidge more shiny but in reality both brands are the same. I love that the packaging, applicator, and amount of product is pretty much the same. However, wet n wild is cheaper! For the full details, do not miss my wet n wild Lip Oil review.

elf Glow Reviver Lip Oil vs wet n wild

wet n wild has 11 shades vs. seven for elf. elf gives us five key oils, while wet n wild gives us seven. elf has greater retailer availability. You already saw the big difference in pigmentation. wet n wild is famous for giving a punch level of pigment to sheer products. Both elf and wet n wild qualify as sheer washes of color. You will get more pigment and shade differentiation with wet n wild, which makes buying multiple shades more likely. For elf, I recommend buying one or two since they basically all wear the same. elf does not have any glitter/shimmer shades, but wet n wild does. The glitter is not seen once on the lips.

These lip oils all have a flavor that is barely there. For elf, it is mint. For wet n wild, it is vanilla mint. wet n wild gives you a subtle cooling sensation that is delayed for the first few minutes of wear. elf has no sensation. Outside of the sensation, both brands of oil feel the same on the lips in terms of being non-sticky, lightweight, yet thick in a good way.

Their product claims and application instructions are the same. Oils are not long wearing, so, you will need to re-apply as needed. You will enjoy wearing the oils on their own, or over lip liner and lip color. The large applicators are very easy to use and the square packaging has excellent grip.

You can note that wet n wild has tried oil in the past with limited edition collections, but they were so so. This permanent lineup is a vast improvement. This is elf’s first time doing lip oil.

The biggest difference between elf Glow Reviver Lip Oil vs. wet n wild besides the pigmentation is how your lips feel after the product wears away. elf makes my lips feel pretty good, but, wet n wild has caused me to kick lip exfoliator to the curb! I believe it is the blend of 11 oils that causes this high performance.

However, both brands are able to deliver high-quality ingredients at a fraction of the cost of the competition. They are great for no-makeup makeup looks and for treating dry lips.

You will not be disappointed with either brand that you go for. I will be leaning closer to wet n wild, however, I will continue to use elf too. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
