The wet n wild Always Blushin’ palette is entering a satured market has so many blushed palettes, which makes Urban Decay Naked 3 top of mind for me. wet n wild is truly bringing us a fresh take to blushed hues. I am swatching each shade, along with a review and two eye looks.

Details & Claims

I am going to start off with where to buy the palette. Besides wet n wild’s website it is listed online with Walmart and Walgreens. WNW is your best bet to grab this palette at a $7.98 price point, versus the others at $8.98.

It claims to feature a blendable formula that is designed to glide on effortlessly for a smooth and flawless application. Each eyeshadow should be ultra-pigmented, long-lasting, and velvety soft. The finishes are matte, sparkle, and pressed glitter. There are no shade names, rather, each is numbered 1-16 in a grid on the back.

As far as the package design, this should be highly familiar to you, as seen with the Coffee Cat and Ice Cream Bee collection, as well as with My Melody and Kuromi.

Swatches & Shades

You can see that the swatches do look soft and blurred, but the pigmentation is on the lighter side. I do find that they apply better to the eye than how they swatch with your finger.

Review

I am a huge fan of wet n wild eyeshadow palettes. It seems along the way they changed their iconic formula around the time that we got the Wild Heart palette. Lately, it is as if their shadows do not work as well, but they are still manageable. These eyeshadows kick up a ton of powder in the pan, and you can see it flying in the air as you work on the eye. You will need to work to build the color up, but everything blends well. Shade six is particularly stubborn.

I do find that the formula is velvety soft and smooth, but I am beginning to miss wet n wild’s formula that is as intensely pigmented as a high-end palette. Still, I appreciate this color story and how different it is from other blushed palettes.

Ultimately, if you are willing to work with the palette, it will contribute to a nice makeup look. I really enjoyed my eye makeup on the days that I created the looks.

Eye Looks

I have created two looks to exemplify what you can achieve with it. While I have to explore the pink options, I also have a nude aesthetic.

Sultry Pink

To recreate the eye look, start by setting the eyelid with shade one. Next, apply shade 10 to the crease and along the lower lash line. Then, apply shade 14 to the eyelid. Now, apply shade 15 to the outer third of the eye, and connect it down to the lower lash line, going about a quarter of the way across. Finish the look by highlighting the brow bone and inner corner with shade two.

Nude Halo

To recreate the eye look, start by setting the eyelid with shade one. Next, apply shade four to the crease and along the lower lash line. Then, apply shade eight to the eyelid, leaving a blank space in the center to prepare for a halo eye. Dark the outer and inner corner with shade 15, and also connect it to the lower lash line. Now, apply shade seven to the center of the eyelid. Finish the look by highlighting the brow bone and inner corner with shade two.

Shop The Palette

As we experience often from the drugstore, you have to spend more time building up the hues, but everything blends and applies with ease. You will encounter a lot of powder flying and kick up in the pan, but not so much fallout. Do you feel that wet n wild has dropped their eyeshadow quality? Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
