I really enjoy wearing olive green, in both clothing and makeup. This may be a color that you shy away from, perhaps because it seems intimidating, your maybe you are simply not sure about it. This look book of 15 olive green outfit ideas is exactly what you need to jumpstart your creative process. I am styling dresses, pants, shirts, and more. You will see a theme here. Cognac and gold accents go really well with olive green, and I am serving those colors up in a major way. As always, you can shop similar pieces for all of these outfits. Olive green works for all seasons and occasions, as I will evidence now.
Look #1: Soft and sweet
The first look from my olive green outfit ideas features the perfect dress for your next date, brunch, or the workplace. The Swiss dots and ruffled hem on the sleeves is super romantic! Animal print is a lovely pairing for olive green, so I am incorporating a leopard handbag and shoes. Chunky gold earrings put a new spin on your classic hoops.

Look #2: For the love of animal print
Second is an outfit that is quite a risk. I normally do not mix so many patterns and elements in fear of looking ridiculous. You can be the judge if this outfit works or not. Something about this dress screams at me to layer it, so I am starting with a leopard puff sleeve shirt. I also want to pair this dress with my brown snake booties, but they look nice with the croc handbag. That is right, I am combining three animal prints. To bring control back, all of the jewelry is olive to match the dress. Besides the animal prints, we have lots of textures working in tandem here for an easily complex outfit.

Look #3: Billowing in the wind
Third is easily one of my favorite outfits. Anytime that I wear something that is light, airy, and can billow in the wind, I feel extra feminine and fashionable. The high low tunic shirt is sheer, and you can pair it with a cami, bralette, another shirt, etc. I enjoy the look of my leopard cami bra under the tunic. Olive works nice with khaki, and jeggings do not subtract from the tunic. The snake print booties add an extra special pop to the entire outfit. The cognac handbag pulls out the matching hue in the booties. An olive jewel necklace is the finishing touch to jazz up the plain chest.

Look #4: Furnace repair
Fourth is an outfit featuring the only boiler suit that I own, and it happens to be olive! The green shell earrings mesh with the olive boiler suit perfectly. I like this to be a spring outfit, hence the heeled cognac sandals that directly tie in with the huge round handbag. Perhaps the bag is large enough to fit all my handy woman tools?

Look #5: Casual stroll
Fifth in my olive green outfit ideas is an outfit that is great for hanging out at your local coffee shop (true story). I like how the buttons are concealed on the blouse, but it is overall a bit long and large. I combat that by tucking the middle part into my shorts. The remaining fabric hanging out looks quite stylish. This outfit is not short on details! Check out the distressed denim shorts, the major fringe crossbody, and strappy sandals. The unusual yellow pendant necklace adds a touch you may not have expected.

Look #6: Paper bag heaven
Next is an older outfit of mine, but the paper bag shorts are so cute! I do not want to cover them up, so I am going for a shirt that easily tucks in. Did you anticipate how well white can pair with olive? I am keeping the white theme rolling with strappy gladiator sandals and my trusty saddle bag. The antique gold necklace is a dream with the olive shorts.

Look #7: Spot the parrot
Here is a simple, casual outfit with one unique standout. I love this jungle handbag to the moon and back! The tones in the leaves go with the olive shirt so well, yet this handbag makes this outfit anything but boring. Nude sandals prevents this outfit from going out of control. I like a darker denim pairing with olive.

Look #8: Olive is the new romance
Continuing on is one of my all-time-favorite shirts! You know how they say orange, or whatever color, is the new black? Well, this olive shirt is the new romance. The loose and flowing material is perfect to tuck into your jeans and to show off your circle belt buckle. I love how cognac looks with this entire ensemble, so I am bringing it out in a big way. The quilted handbag keeps the elegance of the shirt going. A simple, layered necklace makes you seem like a style expert.

Look #9: Asymmetrical attire
Next is another older outfit. The asymmetrical shark bite hem on this shirt, as well as the lace-up and crochet panels, elevate this basic. It is the perfect shirt to pair with your favorite jeans. This outfit evidences how cognac and taupe are fine parings with olive. In an effort to keep this look comfy, flat boots are a must. A geometric gold necklace is the final touch.

Look #10: Vested interest
Pressing on with the olive green outfit ideas, I have a classy look for you. This olive shirt came with the antique gold necklace and black sherpa vest. I am pairing it with patterned dress pants that provide the ultimate, subtle accent. The antique gold handbag matches the necklace perfectly. Finally, taupe boots tie into the entire color scheme of this outfit.

Look #11: Popstar in the making
Here is an outfit that gives me serious popstar, or even Lady Gaga vibes. I am not one to showcase my midriff, but I had to have this unique studded crop top. The gold studs work with the beaded hoop earrings in a painfully perfect way. Crisp, white booties and handbag match the shirt. Also, notice the gold handles on the bag, which keep all the gold going. We also see gold details on the olive skinny pants. The cut and pin striping of the pants accentuate any body.

Look #12: Tunic trouble
Next is a really old outfit, but I still love it! The gold choker with round details go with the gold o-rings of the lace-up tunic like magic. Again, notice how well white and olive go together! The handbag and boots are literally made for each other.

Look #13: Utility wear
Continuing on, I have an easy look for a utility shirt. It is slightly off white, which looks striking next to olive pants. With my magical fashion matching abilities, I have managed to find enamel bangle bracelets and a handbag that match the shirt. Pave hoop earrings are an additional touch that I feel compelled to add. Taupe booties are a clean color to add into the gold, olive, and off white that we have going on, but the heel makes the outfit so feminine.

Look #14: Ol-ive dolled up
Here is an incredibly old outfit that I have worn countless times. This cream sweater is an easy pairing with olive pants. Taupe booties are always acceptable with both cream and olive. This outfit gives me an excuse to pull out this Betsey Johnson handbag, and I am not mad about it. A sense of bling is missing from this rather plain outfit, so a statement necklace that ties the hues of the sweater and booties together is a must-have.

Look #15: Out of the cage
The last look in my olive green outfit ideas is one of my countless examples of pulling colors out of patterns. You can see olive green in the leaves of the floral cage neck bodysuit, which is all the excuse that I need to grab these pants. The gold accents on the pants stand out so well with a bodysuit tucked in, so I am adding gold earrings. Black booties work with the bodysuit. The final element is the handbag in an unusual shade of deep taupe. But, it works with the center of the flowers in the bodysuit.

With this being said, you probably own a lot of elements in your closet right now to start making your own olive outfits. I hope that you now view the color olive in a different light, and that you are now more willing to incorporate it into your daily aesthetic.
