The year is winding down and we are heading into the final quarter of 2020. My September 2020 empties review features 19 products, most of which are skincare, but a few other categories are providing background support. Admittedly, I am disappointed by this lower number of empties in comparison to previous feats. But, as you know, I am committing this year to using up products that take more time. Nothing is more satisfying than working on a product from start to finish and getting your money’s worth. As always, I am providing my honest reviews and mentioning if I will buy again.
Skincare
To begin my September 2020 empties review, I have plenty of skincare. If my memory serves me correctly, all of the masks are Dollar Tree finds.
- Yes to Cucumbers Calming Mud Mask: This is a nice drugstore mud formula that smells like cucumber, but I am not sure if anything is really happening with the skin to warrant a repurchase.
- Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Paper Mask: I do believe that this sheet mask hydrates the skin, but wearing it is quite unusual. My skin felt like it was being burned by chemicals for the first few minutes of wear, and I almost took it off early. Nothing bad happened and my skin was not even beat red. I will not repurchase.
- Freeman Clearing Pomegranate Peel-off Face Mask: This peel-off mask is easy to remove and is not painful, featuring a translucent red/pink color. It does smell like pomegranate, but I do not see anything happening with my skin. I have no plans to repurchase.
- Freeman Beauty Infusion Revitalizing Pomegranate Peel-off Mask: The ingredients of this mask are highly similar to the above pomegranate mask, and they smell, look, apply, and remove the same. So, the review from above also applies here.
- Freeman Beauty Infusion Sea Kelp Purifying In-Shower Mask: This in-shower face mask is a translucent blue gel with a mildly gritty texture for exfoliation. I apply it while I am doing my before shower activities, such as brushing my teeth. Once in the shower I try to wash my face last. I assume this product works with the shower steam, but it does not indicate so. I do not see any changes with my skin, but I am confident that it exfoliates. There is no reason to repurchase.
- Freeman Polishing Charcoal and Black Sugar Gel Mask and Scrub: I use this product as a mask, but the gritty sugar formula also functions as a scrub. The only downside is the sugary gel is hard to spread evenly over the face. I will not repurchase because I prefer their clay charcoal formula.
- Olay Pressed Serum Stick Refreshing: I enjoy Olay’s pressed serum formula because it is easy to work into the skin and behaves under makeup or worn on its own. I cannot say this stick actually does anything for the skin or even feels refreshing, but I apply it hoping the ingredients are doing something. At this time I have no plans to repurchase.
- Olay Hungarian Water Essence Calming Cleansing Water: This micellar water works exactly as it should, and it does not burn my eyes. I have one more bottle to use up, and it does get my seal of approval.
- Bio Miracle Bubble Clay Mask: This is my first ever bubbling clay mask! It really does have a clay formula, except that it jiggles. Once spread on the face it starts to foam up very quickly. It is a lot of fun, even though I do not see anything happening with my skin. I will not repurchase.
- Simple Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water: Simple’s micellar water formula works exactly as it should, and it does not burn my eyes. This tiny package is great for travel, which was my purpose. Although, it is easy to accidentally squirt the product everywhere. I have no plans to repurchase, but I approve of this product.
- Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes: These makeup remover wipes are popular for a reason, and are top of mind for me. Neutrogena’s are the best that I have ever used. I do not need to wet them, and I can remove a full face without the makeup being pushed around. I always turn to this mini pack for travel purposes and they do not let me down. Yes, I will absolutely buy these over and over again.
- Global Beauty Care Charcoal Cleansing Cloths: These makeup remover wipes are on the thin side, and you could easily tear them in half. I wet them with micellar water because they are not moist enough, but definitely not as bad as other wipes I have tried. I will not repurchase.
- St. Ives Revitalizing Sheet Mask: This sheet mask does provide hydration and moisturization immediately with use as it claims, which in turn makes the skin look healthy. I have no plans to repurchase, but it is not bad.
- Aveeno Positively Radiant Maxglow Peel Off Mask: All Aveeno products that I have tried to date do not contain dyes or fragrance, which is great for sensitive skin. So, I am disappointed to say that this one does. I can get two uses out of this packet. On the first use I do not find the removal to be painful. But the second is a little bit, and I attribute that to using a thinner layer. I do find my skin to have a healthy glow after using this mask, so it definitely works, and I can recommend it for those with dull skin. Currently, I have no reason to buy it again.

Beauty
- Cover FX High Performance Setting Spray: This setting spray claims to provide 24 hour wear, but it most certainly does not. My makeup does not get any sort of extended wear with this product, and the sprayer is awful. I can only hope the full-size has a better sprayer, but I will never repurchase.
- Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss in SPL: I am finally making myself use this super old lipgloss up! I do not like lipgloss, but I must admit this formula is not bad. SPL looks light pink in the tube with fine pink and blue glitters, but the color applies sheer on the lips with the glitter present. This formula is not sticky! It wears off as you expect a lip gloss to do, but it leaves the glitter behind. I will not repurchase, but it is honestly not bad for a gloss wearer.
Body
- Physicians Formula Argan Wear Argan Oil: I am putting this argan oil in the body category, but I personally use it as a hair oil. You can use it anywhere on the body. I also like to apply it to my exposed skin in the summer, such as my arms and legs, to get a healthy glow. This product is not a dupe or replacement for my favorite hair oil, but it gets the job done. I have no reason to repurchase.
- Nivea Foaming Silk Mousse Body Wash in Raspberry Parfait: I recently talked about the vanilla version of this body wash in an empties review, but this is raspberry parfait. It smells really good, almost like jello, but the scent does not linger. Of course, it cleans the body and does what it needs to do. This product does not last very long before it is empty. I get these at Dollar Tree but I will never pay more than a $1 for a body wash that only lasts about a month to a month and a half, and I have no plans to buy again.

Fragrance
The final item in my September 2020 empties review is one lonely body spray.
- Body Fantasies Pink Vanilla Kiss: Since I am horrible at explaining scents, the internet states that Pink Vanilla Kiss is composed of a juicy peach and berry scent with notes of soft florals, woods, and musks to make a feminine and fruity scent. It does not last very long, but it is not a bad scent by any means. While I may have another bottle somewhere, it is not so over the top that I need to buy more.
Conclusion
In summary of my September 2020 empties review, we are on the lighter side of empties, for me anyway. You are not hearing much about haircare because I am working on so many full-size items right now. Masks are starting to pick up in frequency, and that will continue to rise and not fall. There are a handful of products that I recommend and approve of, even if I have no reason to buy them again right now. My most disliked products here are the setting spray and Yes to paper mask.
