I have a unique opportunity to go on a two day retreat this summer. This retreat is part my training for a position that I am working for the 2015-2016 college term. As I am officially dubbing this trip “summer camp 2015,” I want to share all of my photos because nature snapshots always look great! I must admit that I am a mall type of girl, so summer camp is not my cup of tea, but the trip is not bad at all. Camp Ligonier is located in Ligonier, PA. The sign in the thumbnail is located at the top of a pretty steep, dirt hill. I consider it the official sign of the camp.
This is perhaps my favorite picture, which I call Travel Yoga. I am doing my yoga right out on the deck between my cabin and the neighbors.
When you stand at the railing of the deck, this is the view of the forest next to the cabins.
Here is the entrance to our cabin. Ours is actually built in memory of two people, which is pretty special to me.
This is the view when you stand on the deck and look straight up.
This is the view when you stand on the deck and look straight ahead. If you walk there, you will end up in a small parking area, and eventually the pool.
This begins the pictures of the main trail, after walking up the previously mentioned steep hill.
Along the path there is a random climbing wall.
The path has a beautiful view of the horizon, making the steep climb much more worth it.
As I am walking down the trail, this is the view ahead. This picture 100% qualifies to be a default desktop picture for Microsoft, am I right?!
Here is another image from along the trail.
The trail ends in a huge clearing with a breathtaking skyline, fire pit, and firewood storage.
At the fire pit I am experiencing my first ever legit marshmallow roasting. Let me tell you, a campfire makes your eyebrows feel like they are being fried off of your face!
Here is where the firewood is stored for the fire pit.
Because the skyline at the top of this hill is so breathtaking, I am taking many photos of it. Sadly, the pictures do not do it justice!
Instead of walking back the way I came, I want to explore and look for a new path. Here is a grassy path that I have never seen before, that somehow also looks like a desktop wallpaper.
Here is another view of this “secret” grassy path as I keep walking.
Another lovely shot of the horizon along the grassy path.
As I keep going, a random wood dock emerges! I have no idea what this is for, considering there is no water.
Of course, I have to get on top of the dock.
Located opposite of the dock is a hill with wood benches.
I know this is a picture of a piece of wood, but I am aiming for a super artistic photo here!
As I continue down the path, I am making my way back to main camp.
The horizon as I am headed back to main camp.
You can barely see the roof of the pool building in this shot.
Here is the basketball court which is next to the game pavilion.
Next are a few pictures of the dining hall and another building.
There is a large, grassy field next to the dining hall. It provides the perfect photo-op for group photos!
Here is the dining hall again.
The cabins have no windows, just wire mesh. I am glad for no rain during this summer camp 2015 trip!
Here is my bed, where I am using a sleeping bag as a comforter.
This is the inside of the cabin when you stand at the back and face the front door.
Here is another view of my bed and of the top bunk.

Overall, I have no problem with going on this trip again. It will be nice to go when it is not 90 degrees outside to avoid being sweaty all day. I think summer camp is a really great way to relax and just let go of the burdens of life for a while. That being said, be sure to share your summer camp 2015 pictures or anything regarding trips from this summer in the comments. I cannot wait to hear about your experiences and until next time (but before next summer), remember to continue to let your true beauty shine.
