Hi everyone! Today I am going to share my first ever elf haul with you. If you are not familiar with elf, it stands for Eyes Lips Face, which is a company that makes quality makeup at an affordable price. Because of their online 50% sale I am using this opportunity to get my hands on many goodies so that I can get a feel for this brand.
Small Tapered Brush
This brush is great for setting your under eye makeup or any area where you need precision. It can also be used to apply liquid foundation, concealer, or a gentile highlight where needed.
Mineral Powder Brush
It can be used to dust mineral powders and loose powders all over the face. It can also be used to apply blush, bronzer, or pressed powder to set the face.
Makeup Remover Pen
Anyone that does any sort of makeup needs to have this product in their collection. It makes me cringe when girls say they had to do their makeup all over again because they made a mistake. This pen erases any mistake you can think of. I love it for fixing up my eyeliner wing or makeup smears. Just wipe the tip on a clean cloth after use to keep it clean. It will get stained eventually, but it does not transfer the stain to your face. The tip can be flipped over to extend the life of the product. In the reviews for this product, many people say it only lasts a few applications, but that is not true. Mine still works after being used for almost a year.
Matte Lip Color in Berry Sorbet
This product is smooth, not oily, and applies easily. It does not dry out the lips like many matte lip products do, probably because, in my opinion, it does not get as matte as it could. Berry Sorbet is very bright and fun and I know I will get much use out of it.
Blush Palette in Light
The red shade is a shimmer, while the others are matte. I like the two pinks and I know that I will use them a lot. There is one shade that is almost brown, which is not much of a blush to me. Ultimately, this is a great everyday palette to have on hand, and it is travel friendly.
Moisturizing Lipstick in Party in the Buff
Again, this product applies smooth and is not oily. The color is perfect for creating a summertime look. The color is unique for my collection.
Lip Exfoliator in Brown Sugar
If you have been looking for a way to get the dead, rough skin off of your lips, then this is the product for you. It is gentile enough for daily use. Wipe your lips with a clean cloth after use to remove the product residue. You can also wipe the product itself on a clean cloth to remove dead skin and other residue. Follow up with your favorite lip balm for super soft lips. It also tastes great, almost like vanilla. Honestly, this product has cured my life long dry lips!
Kabuki Face Brush
This brush is everything a kabuki brush should be- super soft, yet packed full of bristles. It is great for dusting your face with powders, especially setting powders.
Eyebrow Kit in Light
This compact little kit features powder to fill your brows and wax to set them in place all day. For application I like to use elf’s Eyebrow Duo Brush rather than the included brushes.
HD Mattifying Cream Foundation in Porcelain
While the shade range is not impressive, Porcelain will work ok for me. The swatch on my wrist blends perfectly. I find the formula to be creamy, and there is a sponge applicator in the lower compartment of the compact. Ultimately, I need to use this product on the face to make a real determination.
Mineral Pearls in Natural
This product comes with a powder puff, but I plan on applying it with a brush to get an all over face glow, or just to add highlights in certain places. When you swirl the colors together you get a beautiful, light glow.
Powder Brush
This brush does a great job of applying my setting powder all over my face. I think it will be good for carving out your cheekbones with bronzer or buffing your foundation into your skin as well.
Bronzer in Cool
I am choosing the Cool Bronzer because the first shade is more of a highlight, making contouring and highlighting easy. The bronzer shades are bold, which I will enjoy.
Eyeliner and Shadow Stick in Pearl/Glow
Both shades are really sheer in pigmentation and are shimmery. The eyeliner tip applies a fine line. You can probably blend these colors out on your face for a gentile highlight.
Makeup Mist and Set
Unfortunately, I have sensitive eyes, which were bothering me all day after using this product. I will give it another go and see if it was caused by something else. You simply hold it 12-16 inches from your face and mist it a few times all over. So far, I really do not think that it assists makeup with lasting longer.
Angled Contour Brush
I think this brush is too large to use to apply eye shadow, but it would be good for working bronzer into your eye crease when you want to create a light makeup look.
Daily Brush Cleaner
This is yet another product that everyone who uses makeup must have. I spray this 2-3 times on large brushes, and once on small brushes. Then I gently wipe my brushes onto a clean cloth and allow them to air dry. This spray extends the use of your brushes in between deep cleanings and prevents you from mixing colors on your face.
Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder in Antigua
I love the light, yet bright pink of the blush and the dramatic bronzer shade. Both the blush and the bronzer are a little bit shimmery. I know I will use this kit like crazy.
Overall, I am very pleased with the items in this elf haul. The powder products apply very smooth. The brushes are super soft and well-made. Finally, the lip products do not have an oily feel that some brands have. I highly recommend elf products. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, these products will work well for you. Keep letting your true beauty shine and I will see you next time!
