Newspaper Outfits At a Glance
Newspaper print adds a bold graphic element to fashion and always makes a statement.
• Pieces to Try: Skirts, crop tops, dresses, accessories
• Styling Notes: Keep the rest of the look black and white or add red for drama
• Aesthetic: Y2K, print-forward, pop culture fashion
• Ideal For: Fashion content, parties, edgy casual wear
An unexpected way to make a statement is how I describe newspaper outfits. I am here with a look book of four outfits to get you started. As I always do, I give you a breakdown on each outfit pairing, and I provide similar pieces that you can shop now.
4 Newspaper Outfit Ideas
1) Tie Dye Street Style
First in my newspaper outfits is a dress that you must see! The pastel colors are a much needed break from the typical black and white. With my unexpected sense of style, I can see myself wearing this dress for Easter.
This is why I present two options- one with or without a chambray shirt. The shirt helps dress it down a little bit, while covering the arms if you need it. We cannot ignore how strappy the dress is, though! Either way, I like a classic black heel sandal with this look.
The pink bag matches the dress, while introducing a different material with the plastic. You can do anything under the sun with the jewelry, and I am going with earrings. I do suppose a necklace could be busy with the graffiti feel. I have an entire look book on tie dye styles similar to this dress if you need to have more.

Dress- Almost Famous from Gabe’s
Chambray shirt (optional)- Universal Thread from Target
Shoes- rue21
Earrings- Rampage from Gabe’s
Handbag- Justin & Taylor from Gabe’s

2) Read All About It
Second is an off-the-shoulder style. You can easily dress this shirt up or down, which is the beauty of newspaper print clothes! I am slightly tucking the front of the shirt in to reveal the belt buckle. Distressed shorts give enough of a causal feel for my liking. Strappy sandals add interest. All of the accents are consistently silver, down to the necklace, studs, and belt. With the off-the-shoulder neck space, a necklace is great here.

Shirt- Vine and Valley from Gabe’s
Shorts- Arizona from JCPenney
Belt- Madison and Mallory
Handbag- Guess from Gabe’s
Sandals- Time and Tru from Walmart
Necklace- Lux Accessories from Gordman’s

3) Easy Breezy News Day
You are sure to turn heads in this long, newspaper print kimono. It can work with jeans, a leather skirt, or an attitude-packed dress like the one below. Hoop earrings incorporate all of the circles on the dress, and even the gunmetal look. Check out the handle on the handbag for the same idea, plus rhinestones are always ok. White booties help to break up all of the black, but they still pack a fashion punch.

Kimono- Objex from Gabe’s
Dress- Derek Heart from Gabe’s
Earrings- Mudd from Gabe’s
Booties- Charlotte Russe
Handbag- Starlet from TJMaxx

4) She Makes Headlines
Last for my newspaper outfits is a fall and winter appropriate look. Do you ever buy something and know it will become handy at some point? That is the story with the black lace-up jeans. As it turns out, they work well with a long-sleeve, newspaper turtleneck! Just the right amount of attitude appears everywhere. Croc booties add a new texture, especially against the smooth black handbag. A croc necklace ties back to the boots.

Shirt- Almost Famous from Walmart
Jeans- Vocal
Necklace- Time and Tru from Walmart
Booties- Time and Tru from Walmart
Handbag- Madison and Mallory
