This elf Bite Size Face Duo review will discuss all of the shades with swatches. Even though the $3 price tag is unbeatable at the drugstore, by the end of this you will know exactly which shades will work the best for you. Talk about bang for your buck!

Details & Claims

I am starting off with where to buy these duos. For the most part, drugstores that sell elf Cosmetics should be carrying these. If you want access to the eight shades for online shopping, your best options are elf, Ulta, and Target.

These products claim to have two highly pigmented shades that are also complimentary and versatile. The formula should be creamy and buildable, while looking great on all skin tones. In total there are eight palettes featuring a matte blush and a metallic highlighter. The mini size is perfect for travel.

Below are all of the shade names. As the names imply, they are inspired by fruit to bring us pinks, peaches, and warm neutrals.

Review

While these are blush and highlighter combos, depending on your skin tone, you might be able to use some of the blush as bronzers. The Bite Size Face Duo swatches on my pale skin are highly telling. Coconut shows as a dark brown on me, which is best for bronzer. Spiced Apple is on the cusp of being a bronzer, but since it is a pink-toned brown, it can go either way.

A downside with these palettes is about half of the highlighters are too dark for fair skin. Pomegranate is a big no, while Guava and Spiced Apple are borderline, but I can probably get away with them. Lychee might even be in that boat. Otherwise, the rest work pretty well.

This is a good time to note that the highlighter in Coconut is more like a glitter and does not match the metallic sheen of the rest.

It is worth noting that the highlighters outside of Coconut provide a metallic sheen to the face that is not glittery, which is my favorite type of highlighter.

You can clearly see from the swatches how smooth, velvety, and diffused the formulation is. Both the blush and the highlighters are easy to blend and are buildable. You do not have to worry about picking up too much product, which is a key element for this type of makeup. They will last all day without fading.

Personally, I cannot see myself reaching for these that often because of the shades that are not fair skin friendly. With all of this being said, they are perfect to throw in your travel makeup bag and will save you some time because they are multi-use products. You can even use these on the eye, and do not be afraid to rock a monochromatic look.

Shop The Duos

When it comes down to your purchase, I recommend not buying all eight duos. The smart thing is to purchase the ones that best work with your skin tone. From there, I can see you really falling for these and having them become daily favorites. You can harness their versatility by using them on the face and eyes, as well as pairing them with the Bite Size Eyeshadows. How do you feel about face palettes? Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
