elf is trying to reduce their stock of many items by holding a sale. This results in an elf haul 18 for me! Many of these products I will be trying for the first time to see if they work or fail. Only a few of these products are repurchases or add-ons to existing shades. You will see a heavy focus on primer because I usually avoid buying them due to my large collection, but they need to be tried out. Stick around for the reviews and swatches.
Eyes
elf Shadow and Liner Duo Stix in Black
The first item in this elf haul 18 is the Shadow and Liner Duo Stix in Black. One side is matte, and the other is shimmer. By looking at the swatches you can see there is not that much difference between the two sides, and the shimmer is barely visible. The tip seems too thick to use as an eyeliner, but it is fine for eyeshadow application.
elf Intense Ink Eyeliner in Black Navy
Second is the Intense Ink Eyeliner in Black Navy. The tip is rather thick, so it will be hard to get a fine or precise line. You can build up the color to the point that it becomes a dark navy. It is somewhat hard to see in the swatch, but it dries with a slight copper metallic sheen, but that should not be a problem on the eye. I am just noting it is not fully matte.
Lips
elf Tinted Lip Oil in Berry Kiss
Third is the Tinted Lip Oil in Berry Kiss. You may remember another shade from my elf haul 17. This stuff truly is a tinted oil, that lasts about as well as a lip gloss, but with an oily feel.
Face
elf Illuminating Face Primer
Fourth in this elf haul 18 is the Illuminating Face Primer, which is one of many primers that I will be trying out. This primer claims to give you an all over glow. It is golden in color and does have a glittery, metallic sheen to it.
elf Brightening Lavender Face Primer
Fifth is the Brightening Lavender Face Primer. Lavender helps to even out dull, yellow tones to hopefully leave behind a brightened complexion.
elf Mineral Infused Face Primer
Next is the Mineral Infused Face Primer. This one dispenses as a clear gel that feels a bit only. Ultimately, it should deliver minerals to the skin while providing a smooth finish for makeup.
elf Blemish Control Face Primer
Continuing on, I have the Blemish Control Face Primer. As the name suggests, it tries to control blemishes and breakouts. The package has a green tint but the actual product is white.
elf Moisture Lock Face Primer
Finally we are at the last primer- the Moisture Lock Face Primer. It claims to function as a moisturizer and primer all-in-one that also makes your makeup last longer.
elf+ Glow Highlighter
Golden Glow
Next I have two Glow Highlighters. These must be elf’s version of the Physician’s Formula Butter Highlighters, because they smell the same and have a cream to powder formula. I can actually push the product around with my finger in the pan. Golden Glow has a more gentle glow, as it needs swatched many times to really show up. Taupe Glow is the one that packs a punch.
Taupe Glow
elf Shimmer Highlighting Powder
Topaz Glow
I am adding the final two shades of Shimmer Highlighting Powder to my collection. Both Topaz and Bronze Glow are too dark for my skin tone. I am hoping I can use Bronze Glow as a shimmery bronzer, and maybe Topaz Glow as a blush topper. I really like this line of highlighters in general.
Bronze Glow
elf HD Mattifying Balm
A final face product is the HD Mattifying Balm. This can be used over or under makeup to mattify areas of the face prone to oil. It comes with a sponge in the lower compartment that can be used for application.
Tools
elf Silicone Blender & Highlighting Sponge Duo
In this elf haul 18 we are moving into beauty tools. First is the Silicone Blender and Highlighting Sponge Duo. I am buying this to try out the sponge only. It can be used wet or dry with all formats of highlighter. Will it work better than a brush? We shall see, but I am concerned about the glitter in the sponge falling out. I am also curious about using it for foundation, as it does have a bouncy and airy texture, but that glitter scares me. One last note- the silicone blender has a band that you slip your fingers under.
elf Complexion Sponge Trio
Second is the Complexion Sponge Trio. I can normally squeeze a sponge right out of the package and determine if it will be bad or good, but I am not sure with these. They are oddly smooth, and somewhat dense, but not as dense as others. Really, I need to use these and see how they perform. I hate the get the perfect white ruined.
elf Small Brush Holder
Third is the Small Brush Holder. it is simply a square cup to hold brushes or whatever else you want.
elf Daily Brush Cleaner
Fourth is yet another Daily Brush Cleaner. I use it everyday and have been for years. You already know that I love it! A most repurchased product for sure. You spray it onto dirty brushes and then wipe the brushes on a cloth to remove pigment in between washes.
Others
elf Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths
Next up is repurchase of the Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths. They get the job done with the right amount of wetness.
elf Redness Relief Express Mask
Here I have the Redness Relief Express Mask. It is a clear gel that you rub all over your face after working out or before a shower to calm the skin and reduce redness. You are to leave it on for one to two minutes, then rise. It should have a cooling water effect. The smell is the same fresh clean scent featured in all of their athbeauty products.
elf Hello Fresh! Fragrance Rollerball
The last product in this elf haul 18 is the Hello! Fresh Fragrance Rollerball. Hello Fresh is the same scent used in all of their active products, which is fresh and clean. The liquid is rather milky.
We are at the end of this elf haul 18, which leaves me with many products to try experimentally to see if they really work. I have so many primers to use up in my collection that it is crazy I am buying all of these. elf is probably discontinuing or repackaging many of these items, hence why they are having a sale. Do you use any of these products? Let me know in the comments. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
